No questions. Nothing sounds better than a Mopar, big or small block, on a cam! Just love it!!

I built a 340 with W2 heads, 850 Holley on a Holley Strip Dominator intake, 13-1 with a 650lift 280@/050 solid roller, it ran 6.60s@110mph in the 8th in a 71 Demon. Killer little engines really.

    • @mcspikes1
      @mcspikes1 3 года назад

It seems to me that with a 6.60 the mph should have been higher. Great time.

I remember the first Hemi I ever saw! It was a 354 in a 32 Ford. It was parked outside a Tavern in my small-town. I was riding my stingray bike. I waited for hours for the driver to come out just so I could hear it start up! Then to my surprise, he asked me if I wanted to take a ride. Wow what a treat for a 13 year old. I will never forget the sound from that Hemi! Shawn

This makes me want to get back into the sport. Many years ago I had a 70 RT Charger, 71 340 Demon and a 68 and 69 Road Runner. I like the fact that you did not cut the front suspension up Etc. I was always a B/ RB engine guy but with the new stroker kits available the A engine looks like a great way to go. Mopar all the way!

This is a siamese bore R series small block, so not your typical small block. One of these built to the hilt will run you about as much as a built big block wedge, but they're lighter and can pull some serious rpm. The engines Dodge used to use in nascar were part of the R series small blocks as well, the R5P7. You can find them used making 800hp N/A for around 12-15k and they'll rev up to 9000rpm. The R series small blocks kick ass!

I built and R3/W8 416c.i. small block a few years back for my Demon drag car, motor dynoed at 866h.p. to rear wheels, ran the car for 4 passes, pulled 8.80's at 2630lbs. was offered a price for the motor couldnt pass, So now im building a 440c.i. Ex nascar R5/P7 engine combo shooting for over a 1000h.p.at motor.

      I have a 1969 Road Runner ( quickest 9.01) and a 1970 RT/SE Charger ( 10.22 the quickest)
I am in the process of building my " dream car" the one Mopar i have wanted but never owned!!!
      It's a 1970 DUSTER 340!!
Im guessing my build wont be running the numbers as you but its cool, i have that car already to take out MANY Ford's and Chevys😂😂
I just liked the car since BEFORE JUNIOR HIGH.
Im 53 now and i wanted just as bad 8 months ago when i bought it!!
I bought the 340 car with the original 340 in it plus another engine/trans (340 as well) with it.
I pulled the original out and started my build.
Im going crazy. I am so close, maybe 2--3 days away but i live up north in the midwest and with winter ( snow and salt) i wont be driving her for a couple months!!!
Anyhow.... Best of luck with yours. Its one of the strongest sounding/running best looking 340 cars around
      Congratulations buddy.

Eugene Bumgarner Jr. yeah it’s pretty uncommon to see a crank driven distributor on a small block. First time I saw it on my buddies car I was like “what the hell?” You’ll only see stuff like that on low 9 second cars
