Actually, I recommend reacting to their entire concert at Slane Castle, or at least to the most iconic songs. Can't Stop and Under The Bridge are unbeatable

the version of "maybe" by the chantels done solo by john at this show hooked me on that song.
there is actually an edit on the dvd. he had to stop playing at one point and get his pitch back because it was getting too high during the first part of the song. they don't show the stoppage on the dvd, it's edited to look like he's just going into the next part. just an interesting note. 🙂 you can kind of hear the crowd pick up at that part because he started the song again and people were really enjoying it.
That was a very special night. Incredible show. I'm happy they got it recorded.

A song about the deterioration of society, this reflects how the world is becoming very superficial and plastic, much like California. The Red Hot Chili Peppers formed in Hollywood and are quite familiar with the quirky nature of life in Los Angeles.
The more you look at what's happening the more accurate and eye opening the song is
The singer actually loves California, if anything it's more of a brag about how powerful and influential the state is. He doesn't exactly shy away from the seedier stuff, but you'll notice that he doesn't pass any value judgements on it either.

I don't generally like watching live performance videos but I nearly wore this DVD out back in the day. I would give anything to go back in time to be at this show.

morcheeba, pj harvey, queens of the stone age, and the foo fighters were the daytime openers for this show. it was hot as hades with all the people, but because it was Ireland, it kept raining every half hour or so to cool the crowd off. it was an unforgettable day of great music! 🙂

I actually consider the Chili Peppers to be the most important contemporary band. They have led the way as a rock band, while others have been at a standstill since the 1990s.

Superb song
Slane Castle concert is def one of the best filmed rock concerts ever. There was 80 000 people there! I've seen them something like 7 times in the past 25 years, and I'm from Northern Europe. These guys are the greatest, although I prefer the BSSM era 10 years earlier to this, when they used to perform in tennis socks around their you-know-whats.

Imo this band is great from A-Z, the symbiosis between Chad, flea and John is purely magical and Anthony’s lyrics are fitting so well. Really looking forward to your RHCP journey ❤
Snow is the best pepper song ever
Aww guys. The whole concert is a freaking amzing show. Dont forget me is execelent or Venice Queen (about an old Lady they knew from Venice beach) and John goes nuts on the guitar. Thats two songs that stick out besides the ones that everybody has heard sometime at least somewhere. You can watch the whole thing for yourself without a camera and its a great cocnert. You got one of the top 25 best guitar and top 25 best jazz bass guitar players ranked by multiple magazines in one band. What can go wrong? :D Peppers are done way too less on reaction chanels considering the big fanbase. Especially libe. I think every fan would say always do live. Just like with Rammstein

I grew up in Ohio but moved to Los Angeles straight out of high school. This group absolutely epitomizes the California vibe.

Absolutely my favorite band! I’ve seen them live 6 times! I highly recommend seeing them; super talented guys and fun shows. They are very generous giving 25% of concert proceeds to charity. Flea and Anthony grew up together; went to same high school as Slash and Steven Adler. Anthony’s autobiography, Scar Tissue” is excellent. My cat’s name is Zephyr after Zephyr Song. Don’t watch their weird videos, they’re distracting they’re so weird.
Been a RHCP fan since 1989..got the chance to see them at the second Lollapalooza.
Maybe just me, but I've always thought the drummer Chad Smith looks like Will Ferrell's twin brother.
Dark Necessities is WAY up there on my list of faves by them. I highly recommend it! However they NEVER disappoint!

Boy, RHCP song are deep! Try “Hey, Snow”, Scar Tissue, Under the Bridge, Don’t Forget Me; even “Give it Away” has a strong message. Many are about Anthony’s drug use and recovery or tributes to friends. They are funny wild guys! Anthony’s book “Scar Tissue” is very good; he discusses inspiration for many songs, his awful drug use and his recovery.
Aeroplane is one my favorite songs of theirs. The official music video is fun too.

Yeah, personally I didn’t like their early 80s kind of California surf punk stuff but when blood Sugar sex Magik came out that’s the album I really started liking them from then on blood Sugar sex Magik was a little bit of a harder album in there later stuff got a little more mellow but all in all it’s still really good music

The crowd wanted the Chili Peppers and when they finally took the stage they were naked with the exception of socks tied around their..... you know what rhymes. LOL. True story. the song was written about Dorothy Stratten, a 20 yr old playboy model and budding actress, who took a shotgun to the face in 1980. Another song was written for her, The Best Was Yet to Come, by Bryan Adams. Even I remember her, I had watched a movie called Galaxa and I literally fell in love with her character and I was destroyed, as a youngster, when I learned her husband had killed her. That was the first time I'd ever heard of something like that. I didn't know husbands did that to their wives, until this happened.

Saw them in 89 at The Ritz NYC and they would come out for the encore with just socks on their members. Rock Out With Your C___k out! They havent done that years.
