The Red Hot Chili Peppers, commonly abbreviated as RHCP, are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1982, comprising vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist John Frusciante. Their music incorporates elements of alternative rock, funk, punk rock, hard rock, hip hop, and psychedelic rock.
"Under the Bridge" is a song by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers and the eleventh track on their fifth studio album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991). What's the title of this project???
The real genius here is John Frusciante. It was he who helped Anthony, he suggested to him how to sing it, sat down with him with his guitar and they created the harmonies. He's a really cool dude, musical artist , a true friend... Of course, this doesn't detract from the brilliant glory of the lyrics written by Mr. Kiedis! This is how they're created to this beauty masterpiece.✌💜
Rick Ruben told him to show the band .another huy t thank
I remember buying my first RHCP Album in 1984. I’ve been lucky enough to have seen them more than a dozen times. Flea has as much energy now as he did 30 years ago. Chad Smith, still killing it on the drums.
This song in that live version is my favourite song ever. EVERY (and with every I include myself) guitarist wants to have the tone of John, his „under the bridge downtown“ fits the song much better then the choir on the studio version and with Anthony singing at his best, you just wanna cry out of emotions. Another fact about Anthony, it’s true his toughest time was before Hillel Slowak died. His official sobriety date is 24.12.2000 ❤ thank Jesus for that band
I would love to see you do a reaction to John Frusciante's vocals, possibly a live song, or studio song of his solo work. His voice is angelic, and he has a good range.
Yes! Pls
Anthony is actually a very very good singer. You can hear how much he has worked on his vocals over the years. He does some great singing on songs like "Don't forget me" and "Brendan's death song" Everything from stadium arcadium onwards really shows Kiedis's vocal range aswell.
Watched the dvd of this show over and over in my teens, it has a special place in my heart.
I love this song too, it's beautiful.
Saw the Chilis in Toronto August 2022, incredible show, John Frusciante is my fav guitar player, what a treat to see him live😊
OMG...one of my favorite top ten songs..the words and melody just give me chills. You don't have to be a recovering drug addict (I'm not) to appreciate this feeling. So glad you played this. London has cooled now. 😊
Was also at that gig and the green gig you mention. Queens of the stone age, foo fighters and the chilis. What a day and gig 🙌🙌
It's a wonderful song and I love your reaction video. It's always fun to learn more about singing technique. 🎼🎶❤❤
Thank you for using the Slane Castle version. That concert was perfection. The harmonies on Otherside from that show are the best I’ve ever heard ❤
such a classic
One of my favorite RHCP songs. Takes me back.
Seen these 4 live 2 times, unreal energy
My favourite RHCP song, from the same album as this i think, and one of my all time favourite songs is "I Could Have Lied" , "Breaking The Girl" is another great track. Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik is one of those albums that every music lover should own.
"I Could Have Lied" is one of my favorites. "Sir Pyscho Sexy" is also a favorite of mine.
This song is the single-greatest chill vibe recorded, since Dobie Gray did "Drift Away" in 1973.
Ooo this one is live in Ireland 🇮🇪 so good
Yes! A beautiful song with a moving and technical analysis! Beth, what do you think about analyzing songs from the solo career of John Frusciante, lead singer of RHCP? Shadows collide with people has true masterpieces
Love the Chilies, should check out one of their newer ones, The Heavy Wing .. John sings the chorus & just love his voice
Beth, you rock! )) One of my favorite songs ever
I think his best vocal is on Brendan's Death Song, so you should check that one out.
Also, the first syllable of his last name is pronounced "key," like a car key, instead of "kai."
Gig on the green in 2003 was a great gig with a good line up.
love this band
IMHO the best Red hot song of all time.
They have better but this one is up there
I was in that crowd was my 1st ever concert
Saw them back in the 90s on a festival (funny enough, Lou Reed was playing just before them, and the contrast couldn't be more extrem), it was a great show. Back than, the roadies had to sing the female backing vocals. 😂
My friends and i were there that day! ❤
LOVE LOVE LOVE all your reactions!!!
Thanks Joe!
@@BethRoars wow you are beautiful!!!
This song is about the deep throws of addiction. It’s beautiful and deeply haunting 🩵
This lady knows her shit
I was always ptretty indifferent to this band, but this song blew me away.
Watch the whole Slane Castle show. Impossible to be indifferent to them after that. They’re an insanely good live band.
Beth, your asymmetrical hairstyle reminds me a bit of Veronica Lake, an actress of the 1940's. Nice choice, classic.:)
chili peppers 🌶️♥️
DAN VASC Metal singer performs "Amazing Grace" You must hear this!
Me gustó su estilo musical bien Beth 👏👏🍀🍀
Hiroyuki Sawano "Attack on titan" suite please!
By the way is the best
❤
I think this might be the first time I've seen a live version of this song because I had no idea that John Frusciante could sing that well.
Unreal
How did you comment a month ago though?
@@mintchevvv1834 I'm one of Beth's patrons, we get to see the videos that we vote on a bit early.
This whole concert is incredible, it’s from Slane Castle
@@johnhmaloney Where have you been? The version of Otherside they did at Slane has the best backing vocals I’ve ever heard. Also John has like 15 solo records. His voice is beautiful.
good to see will ferrell on the drums
Anthony never liked performing this song. One show he missed his cue, and the entire audience sang the lyrics for him. Seeing this the manager convinced the band to release it as a single ;)
He's VASTLY over criticised for his singing, but I think he's pretty good and it's VERY distinctive. Live he does struggle, but the voice is there
I saw them live at Roskilde 2007 and he was... not great. The rest of the band was great and when the guitarist sang one of the songs he sounded really good tho he looked stoned out of his mind.... and maybe that was the issue. Anthony had recently gone clean and looked very awkward on stage. Like he was trying instead of doing...
Some of the least technically gifted singers have the most interesting and emotive singing voices
I agree!
John is probably a better singer than Anthony
Frusciante is a better singer than Anthony. He is phenomenal
You are so beautiful and wonderful
Anthony have very poor vocal skills but there's no one in the universe who can sing RHCP song better and be even close to this vibes
*"here in the UK"* 🤢🤢🤮
Antony cannot sing Beth. Let's not sugar coat it. Only Ian Brown is worse...
great song….should of hung up the mic a long time ago…just rubbish rap-sing after this album
You’re joking right? They have 110 million copies sold, after this album 😂😂
