Thant symbol on the ceiling is chinese not japanese .吉 means lucky, 囍 ,喜+喜 ,This symbol is actually composed by two words, two happinesses, or doulbe hapinesses,The double-happiness symbol is referring to two happinesses that the two persons and even the two families are getting together to become one family. That's why the two words are put tegother to become one word, the symbol.

Steve, I don't know when I have ever been so sad looking at a house. Such gorgeous architecture, such special woodwork and stair rails. Such large windows and so many very special things! The amount of clothing thrown around was rather mysterious in that so much of it looked new. Not much trash hoarded. Wonder why. Thank you for filming my favorite genre ~ the abandoned house. I do like schools and hospitals, but often times all the rooms look basically the same with nothing new to discover around the buildings. I'm not too keen on bunkers and things like that. Possibly because I lose the perspective of size and there aren't many colors. I watch everything you produce so don't worry about my likes and dislikes! Thanks Steve for your hard work of entertaining us!

I wonder whether what looks like "hoarded" stuff in there isn't actually leftover store stock. Since you'd mentioned that the family owned a department store, it seems possible that, in the last days of the business, there would have been leftover merchandise that they couldn't liquidate and had to store somewhere, or that they were trying to hang on to what stock they could in the hope of opening a new store, and saving money by essentially using the house as a warehouse. Either way, it speaks to some traumatic times for this family!

The last family living in this home abandoned the home over a decade ago because the boiler went out & did not have the funds to replace it.
Sherry Vachio wich is the great granddaughter states her great grandfather filed bankruptcy on 1920 & selling it to a plumbing contractor. At one point in time the home was turned into apts. In the 70's. A nonprofit refurbished the home renting it out for events & also had a full ballroom.
Pastor William Moore & Doris more are last registered owners & are roughly one year+ behind on the taxes & live out of state. At times they have tried to fix it up but costs for repairs are estimated over 2 mill & have seem to lost interest. Many others have tried to purchase the home from current owners but refuse to sell just letting it decay.

Hey Steve. I love your locations as well as your presentations as they are. Your photography and historical information are an extra treat. There isn’t one video I’ve watched that I don’t want to research the location, get in my car and go find and explore them by myself! Keep them coming and be safe. Pamela

Beautiful house, so much detail you left out, there was beauty everywhere more than most houses. I think you were more interested in the stuff. The stairs were gorgeous especially the gold colored scroll design on the wall.

Seeing this house makes me kinda sad.. I've had some difficult times in life myself.. It reminds me of how devastating loosing your whole world can be.. Even though the ppl are gone the house has so much to give.. I hope someday someone can once again breath fresh life back into the workmanship of this home.. It's still so beautiful..

Steve everything you film & explore are amazing! I do love abandoned mansions though. That house looks like they took absolutely nothing when they left. I felt claustrophobic seeing the house contents. I can’t imagine walking through it. Kudos to you.

Didn't the guy who build a house own a department store; maybe the department store stayed in the family business and they stored a lot of extra stuff in the house.

One of the things that puzzles me most about all the stuff that was apparently just left in this mansion is why the family wouldn't have at least gathered their special/personal items (i.e. diaries, pics, etc.) to take with them. Those are the kinds of things that can never be replaced, no matter how much money a person has. So sad. 😢

I just love your shows Steve because I love going in all these nice homes with you. What happens to the things they leave behind? You know people go in there and take what they want. Me and my son are always going in fabulous homes here in Bentonville ,Arkansas. We go in the open houses . They are just beautiful. So the people that lived there and then they up and leave and leave their belongings behind ,then they have to start all over again somewhere else. What a bummer to have to leave everything behind. Hope you have more shows to come. Stay safe.

Great video Steve. I loved the radar base too! I don’t know why some are more popular than others. I here ya with that.
Why are mansions always ransacked like this? This house had a major amount of stuff like clothes and games. What made them leave this all behind like this? Why are places always ripped apart and left a mess? Did people come in and do this? I would love to see pictures of the way this house once looked.
Look up Grey Gardens in Long Island New York. That home was owned by Eddie Belle (?) she was Jackie Kennedy’s cousin. That house was beautiful then went into disrepair but finally the house was bought and beautifully restored. You can see pics when it was a mess. And throughout its history.

Wow that must've been a beautiful home at one time.I love your videos Steve I've been a long time viewer of yours, I honestly love seeing your abandoned mansions and houses because it's something people feel the can connect to in a way, also the paranormal ones were pretty funy to watch as well. :) I love the abandoned places too when you explore them but I think the reason why they might not be getting as much views is because sometimes there's not much left and seeing these places with lots of history is really neat but it's hard to feel connected to the places if there's not much left behind if that makes sense? The Island of Death was a really interesting exploration. Maybe people would be interested in the abandoned places if there was still stuff left? or more history behind it? anyways I'll always watch your content no matter what, keep doing what you're doing
