Hi
Steve Ronin this is a bank owned house most likely the owner got sick and either pasted away of left the kids either didn’t want house or couldn’t afford it it is trashed do to squatters as there is lots of signs of them being there most likely they come back at night.... it is not uncommon to find houses where they have left everything behind like that I see it all the time in my line of work
The corvette is a c3, which would be from '68-'82, but it looks almost like a c2 rear window in it. Then looks like a Greenwood wide body kit on it. Not sure on any of that, but I like it and would love to see it come back to life. I brought a '68 back to life that belonged to my brother that passed away. Its my profile pic, I kept the funky 70's paint job.
Hello steve be safe. And be careful you never know. You might buy it and. Fix it up godbless you🎈🎈🎈😁😁😁😇

I’m not judging here as I don’t know the family’s story, but if I had a letter like that from my mum I would treasure it for ever.
Doing that you still run the risk of not being able to use any of the footage and losing days of footage and editing with zero useable footage. Not to mention he's committing a crime to begin with
Right my mom has been gone almost six years I still have a letter she wrote me back in the early 2000’s when I moved away from Mississippi ❤️😔
I was thinking the same thing
That’s what’s left in the end. Memories ♥️
Don't be so sure their not

It's sad that someone or something has vandalized the house. Looks like someone just dug through everything. I don't believe that the people who moved out left it like that.
its not that sad mate. they were supposedly millionaires
Correct Yvette.....Owners just walk away but vandals either lived in it for a while or just rummaged everything in hopes of finding treasure or money!
Looks like a squatter been using there
I’m sure it was foreclosed, I used to work in residential foreclosure. The people that moved out, probably did leave it in this condition. They didn’t care what was going to happen to the house.
@@welpiguess This is very sad on so many levels.
This made me almost cry. Everything is temporary. If only this new generation (including me) realizes that life is too short and materialistic things are not worth being obsessed over. Materials and objects don't matter. Family does. Love does.
Nice words. Yes life is short like lighting on sky. It is why Buddha left palace to find what is all about. And he found deathless, timeless enlightenment within and instructed countless beings how to do the same. All best in search for lasting happiness.
The ancient Egyptians found out the hard way too. Love yourself before you can love another and all things will come.
😭😭😭😭😭
Exactly. All the stuff you own WILL be in a landfill or owned by someone else
I feel you.
I had a friend die and left two fully furnished homes. No matter what we own in life, we can't take it with us into eternity..
That's to show nothing matters but God and ur soul
My father just passed away 12-16-2020. We are the one having to go through all of his things, what to do with everything. The task is beyond daunting.
@@sherryrunslate9678 So sorry Sherry 😞 My condolences for your loss. Pretty hard losing a loved one anytime of the year, but it is even more difficult during the holidays. My thoughts and well wishes are with you ❤ 🙏 🌹⚘
@@sherryrunslate9678 Been there, done that 7 years ago when my mom died and my sis and i were co executers of her estate. We had to completely empty, clean and sell her house. All her things, personal, private things as well as everything else.
@Jim Johnson This life is ephemeral, if your focus is on material things rather than preparing for eternity (which has no end), your situation will be infinitely worse than someone who thought high school was it, peaked in high school and never prepared for life after high school.
It really doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, popular or obscure, loved or hated in this short life, what matters is everlasting eternity.

Everytime I see abandoned houses such as this, my mind always wonders if the owners had to go into witness protection or if they didn’t have any living family left. It’s just so sad to see.
Oh ew ya! Could poss be!
I just wonder if the money made material possessions matter less and when the father left the family already thought they had everything they wanted.
Why sad? Humans are concreting everything.....let nature win a few times
Just dramatising things. People lose their houses everyday
Yeah I feel same
There’s something bittersweet about these abandoned homes. What once was full of life, good and/or bad times, are now sitting still in time, holding nothing but memories..
Crazy how entire mansions are just left like this for ages.
The detective in me says there wasn’t a ton of happy memories in that house.
You would think that someone would own the property whether it's an estate, bank or realtor & would have the place cleaned out & fixed up to sell rather than sitting there falling apart.
People have their own lives, when the father or mother left the property for the final time they would of taken suitcases. Most physical objects aren’t important the photos are interesting but explainable when I go to my nanas house it not just one 2 photo albums it’s hundreds and the passports most probably lost at one point in time or not needed.
Them 2 girl having to deal with years of sexual abuse from their father and the mother would do nothing to stop it, plus his mistress and his kids he had with her living in the other 1/2 of the house, no there is no happy memories for the 2 girls in that house
no they were to rich to care about the house, you only notice this with mansions and ony rich can afford
@@6996brandyl ....how do you know these things???
The Corvette was "customized " to look like an exotic car. Popular in the 70's- 80's. The body usually cracks around the add on fiberglass work. The body man did a remarkable job as it's stood the test of time.

It's a 79-82 regular Corvette with a wide body kit by Greenwood probably. Typically, it junked up and lowered the value and like you said, they crack from stress of going down the road. Depending on the odometer and motor, its worth anywhere from $2,000-$5,000 at most.
@@scottbaxter2682 It's a shame. If you're going to modify one of those later C3s, the best areas to mod are the engine, and the suspension and brakes.

While standing in a completely ransacked room he goes on to say that "You can tell no one has really been here besides us... Everything is just naturally decaying by itself."
Lol
"you can tell by the way the victim was stabbed that the bullet was shot from close range"
This happened to my family check out my comment. I explained why I had to leave my moms huge house like this. The bank owned it I could only take so much. Couldn’t take the cars or anything. House sat for 3 years before it was auctioned. Because of COVID the auction kept getting pushed back and pushed back. Check out the address online there will most likely be an auction date
I know.. it’s been ransacked.. I am amazed that anything of value has been left behind.. at some point the doors and carved wood will be stripped as well… if I were doing these videos, I would look up online what is actually happening to the property.. with technology today, you can find out just about anything!!
I pass this house everyday on the way to work and have always wanted to see the inside this is awesome
If that is true, do you know any of the story behind it? And this other mysterious corvette that was not actually shown in the video?
What the address?
Original owner was a lawyer. And from what some people at work tell me he just got old left everything to his kids and they let the place go to hell…..it’s on 209 between Hurley and accord ny
Oh wow, it is renovated and listed for $2.9 mil.
The sewing machine is actually a movie projector.
Yup my pop had one!

Yeah i looked him up. He's really good coudent find it it does look like one called. An Elegant Beauty? I like pop surrealism Mark Ryden.
Come off it, if anything it's probably a Chinese oiliograph. The auctioneer has already been and gone, the only stuff left in there is the stuff they couldn't sell. That includes the shitty corvette BTW, with strippers painted on the bonnet. I'm not exactly surprised

X2 I'll bet dollars against donuts that that is not the original painting itself. It's surely a print.
Yes, the Vette is pretty tacky. Between the garish Corvette Summer-looking flares along the side of the car, and the faux '64-'67 back glass treatment, the car never had a chance. Perhaps the former resident acquired that car as payment for services, from some meth-crazed outlaw biker - which still doesn't speak volumes for the former resident...
Thank you! I was curious to get a print. Love it!
It would be awesome if this place was preserved. There's so much wonderful vintage stuff in it.

Right?! Wtf is this dude even saying?
As an archaeologist, I can relate to these people. You find minuscule artifacts from a person's life and make assumptions based on those items. It's hard work with a dab of imagination. But once you have something you're positive about -- that you think you understand 100% -- you run with it hard. So I get why the dude is so excited about information he's assumed probably based on photographs and other documents he's found in the house. Super fascinating stuff.
Well yea sure I get that. But a lot of these explorers are 19 years old so they don’t have any life experience. In short they are ignorant. These kids don’t even know what “old” is.

I ALWAYS wonder why did not even 1 family member come and live in that huge beautiful home, or sell it? Its just sitting there falling apart, along with all the memories that were inside. Its so sad
It is. I suggested to Steve what if one living family member came forward to offer to be interviewed or returned back there to visit, with Steve alongside, to express what happened and give a historical tour. I think it would be romantic in a strictly melancholic way and would get loads of views imo
Estates of this side cost a LOT of money to keep maintained, let alone the property taxes. It's so sad. You can tell the family that lived there genuinely loved each other.
Who knows maybe the family is fighting over the will and how it was distributed?
@@susanbissell6319 yes, that would be bound to happen. But in the meantime the thing they're fighting over will not really be anything significant as it once was, to have, because nature will have eaten it up. Decay etc.

It’s hard to feel bad for people that do not appreciate what they have….this place should have been sold, not left to rot like an old camper or barn.
You can't assume. Who knows what happened?
@@dr.robert5322 it is known. The family divorced and they were too proud or angry at each other to liquidate the property and split the money. Instead they held each other up from being able to live in it or from selling it and just decided to leave it to rot so that the other couldn’t benefit from the money it would sell for. Good hunting guys. I’m very intrigued. There’s such a story in every home. Happy, sad and tragic. Stay safe
Thumbs up to you steve for appreciating the real value of the house from your heart!
Your were born in 1999 so your ignorant just like these “explorers”. Idiots walking around going “wow” and having no idea what they are even looking at. You’d pick up a flip phone and go “wow this is probably an 80s cell phone!” Idiots.
See... This is why they shouldn't have stop teaching cursive in school😂😂😂
I could read the letter just fine lol!

I was thinking the same thing, lol
All the crap they teach now is crap. I'm 60 and this comman core stuff is idiotic. Math come on 5+4= 9, but no you have to have 4 boxes and put all these numbers in each box, side number to get the answer. That's why they don't have time to teach cursive. I was taught cursive had to be used on official documents. Our grandson does better the way we were taught, then this crap they throw out.

The door details are priceless 👌 love them
That note so lovely from the heart of a parent. I know that feeling when u receive something so beautiful by a loved one
My hunch is a letter like that meant the daughter had been somewhat of a disaster growing up so the mother wrote a letter of encouragement. The fact that the house wasn’t reclaimed by the daughters sort of confirms it.
It’s insane how decayed a house can get in less than 20 years.
it's amazing how when there is no life energy in these houses, they literally start falling down
Those machines, the one in the living room and on the kitchen counter are old film projectors. Looks as though someone was reminiscing watching old family videos.

Usually the back taxes are more than the value of the house. Then there's mold checks, inspections, prooperty violations that always pop up....and demolition companies who are waiting while slobbering to act.
good luck on them property taxes .
This is just straight up depressing but great video none the less🙏🏼
I know you are capable of amazing things And I am thrilled to watch you accomplish them.
It's sad to think that somebody dedicated their entire life's work and savings to this home, only for it all to rot away and never be claimed by anyone. I wonder if the daughters at least inherited a small fortune, or if the family split apart before the father and mother passed away. It's also kinda sad to think that this must've happened fairly recently, as they found something dated as early as 2001.
Maybe the father, who was obviously in poor health left a lot of medical bills. With the inheritance taxes, possibly back taxes on the house, maybe the kids couldn't afford to pay them. But you would think they would clean it out and sell it. Not just let it rot.
One woman posted she knew the attorney and he was involved in a messy divorce. That would do it. I still am surprised about the daughters leaving the note and some other possessions. It looks like the remains of a sad a bitter story involving the family.

A summary of the story of this place: A lawyer, his wife and two daughters used to live there. Daughters went off to college and the parents went through a divorce. Health problems and the divorce ultimately left the home to one of the parents to pay or possibly the daughters which obviously they chose to not keep the house and didn't want to pay the mortgage. The bank takes possession and sells it or it just sits there until the taxes and bank mortgage are paid or somehow satisfied. It's still sitting there so the bank either can't sell it or has been unable to fetch a buyer to unload it. Huge loss.
If only I were 20yrs younger, I be a major house flipper for properties like this lol.
Also thank ypu for the explanation, drives me nuts being left with questions.

Very beautiful home indeed I could only imagine what it looked like when it was first bought. It is very interesting to wonder what happens when places like this are suddenly abandoned and I can understand the children or other family members might not have wanted to live there however, I’m very curious though as to why they never came to get Family heirlooms and personal items that always causes curiosity for me so , it makes me wonder if possibly something happened to the daughters as well but , it’s a beautiful home with a lot of beautiful woodwork.. First time watching your channel and I really enjoyed! I also agree looks like someone came in and just went through everything and made a mess unfortunately there’s so many that are not as respectful as you guys they destroy stuff, take things etc it’s just so sad to see it in this state .

I use to do clean ups in homes like this upsate NY and the guy I was working for told me the homes we were doing were of families who went into witness protection programs. I would consider this “confused” architecture. I don’t think they really knew what direction to go with this house
The messy house was an architectural chaos machine. It was also very CHEAP. Most materials were as cheap as possible. Thin sheetrock, too. Widely spaced studs.
the blessings of the mc mansions
I'm so very excited to your adventure I'm so scared! Please keep safe everyone ! Love you all! Good luck ♥️
I agree. Except for some nice original wood it looks like it was ruined by renovations. Looks like a big cheap tacky barn. No taste.
Goodness I would pay good money to be able to explore some of these places with you guys.
They did not take selfies back then. People took photos of each other. Great Tour!
Have you ever thought about the idea or opportunity, if it comes, of interviewing any one of the family members - if you could ever track them down - who used to live there? To get the full story of what happened?
I could find them . I can find anyone !! All he would have to do is ask
@@whateverheather655 cool, let's make it happen.
@@mazklassa9338 sounds good to me
@@whateverheather655 I'm probably not the first one to come with the idea, but I do think it would be an extra feature. On the contrary, part of the mystique is the idea that we might never find out who they are/were.
@@whateverheather655 Ask for the address is what I say and did. Hey...what's the address? Then save this beautiful house!

WTF?... don't you even recognise a fuel-filler cap???
🤭
And he said he would like to fix it up,, hah,ha, ha
“Must have been taken on the race track there is a symbol on the steering wheel too..” 🤦🏻
awe he doesn’t know that much about cars... wich is fine right? :)
@@iamonarch You don't need to know much about cars, it's effing common sense.
Btw, by listening to his commentary, it's clear he doesn't know much about anything... and that's definitely NOT fine!
"Oh, look, perfume. Wow it still smells like perfume" lol
Great video. Appreciate the effort you put into all the videos you make and the sharing the places you visit. Though you probably need to bring on OG with you as your interpretations of certain items and rooms show how young you guys are 😜
I can tell you, the kid's wasn't able to keep up with the property taxes an were probably forced out.
This house once belonged to my lawyer, his wife, and 2 daughters. Unfortunately there was a messy divorce and the house fell victim. In lieu of payments, many of his clients paid with their construction skills.
Who owns the house now?
What city is this house in?
Edna has the correct information. Local lawyer.
@@skliros9235 Citibank owns the house now.

It's around a 1982 Corvette with a popular after market body kit..pretty cool..Ive only seen 6 or 7 of them threw my entire 35 years custom car builder career
I got tears when you pointed to a bag of medications. I have 14 autoimmune diseases, 6 heart conditions and two lung conditions. I take 21 medication's a day. It's sad but I just keep pushing forward and can't live a day without Jesus. Blessings
The style home looked Egyptian.
The thing on the car you tried to open was for gasoline.
If whomever owns this home is watching, please give this home to Steve. He loves it and will care for it.
I follow quite a few Urbex channels and yours is by far the most entertaining!! I know you’ll always bring the best content with a easy breezy perspective while always respecting the places you go!!! We need this more than you know!!!
An entire generation that cannot read anything written in cursive! GOOD GOD!
Looks like he read it pretty well! Not everyone has easy to read penmanship. Ever try reading a Dr.s handwriting?
And doesn't know what a grand piano is, or that a painting isn't a framed photo. Strike me pink!
@@exodus8292 that was VERY legible handwriting. It’s not an old letter it’s 3 years old lol
Well, nobody uses it anymore, I rarely even write anything by hand anymore.
They don’t teach us cursive in school so yeah a majority of us aren’t going to know 💀
Attention to detail was phenomenal
Sad that the beautiful wood work is left to decay. Beautiful home.
Yes you should buy the mansion and fix it up and keep the land well kept. That would be so cool to see the process of that!
Hey Steve, I had to watch this one again, there seems to be great sadness about this place...I enjoyed it the second time! Way too big for 4 people though, for me anyway! God Bless
What is crazy to me is that, these places contain a lot of book 😅 and I couldn't imagine myself trapped in there, it would be insane trying to read every single book in it !!
why put a c8 on the thumnail, missleading af
Yes agree, thats a dishonest shit not necessary
