For those that missed the live stream this video is from. The entire night was just spent looking over what could be changed in MVCI alongside the visual style: music, UI, character art, character selection etc. He also looked over sick combo clips, old gameplay streams and talked with some MVCI heads to see what gameplay balances could be POSSIBLY changed in the future.
Maximilian... I know a crap ton of other people are putting in the work to actually make these mods, and each and everyone one deserves their credit, but you facilitating the modding scenes like this just makes me happy.

I was thinking the exact same. I really like the gameplay of MVCI. Plus playable Sigma and X finally dude. That is all I ever asked for in UMVC3. 2v2 was just icing on the cake.

There is no need to go and buy the game now when we don't know what will happen to this mod, so it makes sense that some people may be cautious about it. I know it's been a long time since mvci dropped but, and maybe this is just me, i don't think mistakes like whatever happened to mvci should be rewarded. Just buy the game when it goes on sale (which happens often) or pirate it to try the mod when it releases. If something you should try to support the guy that it's making the mod first and foremost.

The fact that Max is spending actual money so that fans and modders can get and use the tools needed to make this stuff a reality, and he is seemingly doing for mostly the passion of the fans and love of the game with no returns, just proves to me that Max is without a doubt one of the biggest GOATs and Chads of the fighting game community, and probably just online in general. I'm calling it right now: Modded MvC3/Infinite is going to become 3D MUGEN. Somebody already Modded Sol's moveset into Red She-Hulk so it's only a matter of time before we get full movesets of Guilty Gear, KoF, or even Mortal Kombat characters. Soon there might even be a whole-ass indie project made from the bones of MvC (acknowledging if Capcom will get Ban-Happy legal or not, knock on wood).
Oh good god, I hope the mvci character mods aren't gonna be too restrictive like the umvc3 ones, that community only allows marvel or Capcom characters, and basically ignores any efforts of characters outside of that (even tho red shehulk can be sol??)
For me i think Capcom will make a super street fighter maker and WE will Can make our own fighting game choose style character and gameplay etc ... And liké that they will have their money and New players WE will have our game for play AT home or online

Hey Max, thanks to you and the team for doing this. Hopefully, it comes out as good as you envision it. One suggestion I'd make is that you guys should think about adding some pixelated digital effects to the hyper combos and maybe even infinity stones. Seeing the comic book aesthetic in the game's visuals is certainly nice. But this is also supposed to be a celebration of video games. So getting some kind of representation for that in the visuals would be dope too. Just my two cents.
FFXIV mods do this kind of syncing on an external server called Mare Synchronos, what it does is uploads your character mods and syncs with players you exchange your code with or are part of a group of players with modded stuff. It downloads the other persons files on a cache when they are close to you (same instance close enough to appear on view). I can envision fighting games using a similar sistem for modded stuff

Mega Man X's moveset needs changing. I made an entire document detailing the changes back then. It included, (1) Mobile charge (2) More special moves (3) Charged Specials for complete alt versions during Armor mode (4) Nova Strike Lvl 3 is full screen dash to connect into the animation. (5) Others but the first 4 take priority. I am willing to discuss both that plus share that document I had.
Oh my god this looks phenomenal! I love the art style, it looks like it truly jumped outta a comic book! Even if it wasn’t a deliberate choice leaning into the comic aspect of marvel makes this game look so visually amazing! Cannot wait for updates!

While I love that substantial modding is finally coming to mvci, I do think currently the artstyle is just feeling like city of the wolves Like the "pinstriping" and the blue highlights feels like cotw's main style too much, I personally think that for mvci, artstyle either going like mvc3 but less harsh shadows, OR going super vibrant colors like classic mvc1 and that era, but in 3d

I know for a fact that even you got sort of bullied for enjoying it playing it If I recall correctly I am know excited for this mod because luckily it will bring tons of people online and create a community for all of us to compete Fingers crossed it will be a great time. my approach to this will definitely be related to the source material. Marvel is a Comic franchise and Capcom is video game franchise if you can create like marvel character have specific shaders based on comics and capcom characters have their shaders could be really cool
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite will be part in Multiverse Story Line after Capcom shocking on new X-men 97,Deadpool & Wolverine,and upcoming MCU multiverse Saga. MVCI turn as Incursion.
Rim color could go either complementary or tertiary colors depending on the characters costume color to make the fighters pop and unique. I think the baby blue would be nice for Spiderman. where as a baby pink might be good rim lighting on Gambit, Emerald for Rouge, Canery Yellow for Storm. I like the art style you guys are doing! I cant wait to see it in action!

Super excited, this means that for characters like Spiderman or others with tight suits, the color of the rim lighting, amount of pinstriping, etc can be changed to fit the style of a specific comic book. May look distracting but would be fun messing around with giving Spidey the super dark, shiney blues that his suit has in many comics.
I've always had a soft spot for MvCI, even knowing all the issues with it. And I can't lie that all the modding love everyone was giving UMvC3 and none for Infinite...like I get it, but it still made me kinda sad. So to see this is just wonderful, cannot wait to see how it evolves Honestly, it has made me genuinely interested to give modding a shot
I'm so unbelievably excited for this because I was a huge mvci for the first couple of years it was out. If this ends up being an graphics overhaul, I'll be happy. Just curious though, is the intention of this to affect gameplay too? Is adding characters or changing balance of the existing characters in the scope of this project? I'm not sure how much of this is figured out currently but would love some insight into this once you're able.
This is really good. The shaders updated in engine look so much better. Max already knows the visuals and where it can be improved and the fact the research done is so good, this game gonna come out really good! 🔥❤

Mega Man X's moveset needs changing. I made an entire document detailing the changes back then. It included, (1) Mobile charge (2) More special moves (3) Charged Specials for complete alt versions during Armor mode (4) Nova Strike Lvl 3 is full screen dash to connect into the animation. (5) Others but the first 4 take priority. I am willing to discuss both that plus share that document I had.

Oh my god this looks phenomenal! I love the art style, it looks like it truly jumped outta a comic book! Even if it wasn’t a deliberate choice leaning into the comic aspect of marvel makes this game look so visually amazing! Cannot wait for updates!

As someone who works a lot with Unreal Engine and would love to get into modding MvC, I hope beyond all hope that this project goes far.
Looking forward this project. I hope in the far future we can get mods for dlc characters that never came to mvci.
While I love that substantial modding is finally coming to mvci, I do think currently the artstyle is just feeling like city of the wolves
Like the "pinstriping" and the blue highlights feels like cotw's main style too much, I personally think that for mvci, artstyle either going like mvc3 but less harsh shadows, OR going super vibrant colors like classic mvc1 and that era, but in 3d

my approach to this will definitely be related to the source material. Marvel is a Comic franchise and Capcom is video game franchise if you can create like marvel character have specific shaders based on comics and capcom characters have their shaders could be really cool

Rim color could go either complementary or tertiary colors depending on the characters costume color to make the fighters pop and unique. I think the baby blue would be nice for Spiderman. where as a baby pink might be good rim lighting on Gambit, Emerald for Rouge, Canery Yellow for Storm. I like the art style you guys are doing! I cant wait to see it in action!

Super excited, this means that for characters like Spiderman or others with tight suits, the color of the rim lighting, amount of pinstriping, etc can be changed to fit the style of a specific comic book. May look distracting but would be fun messing around with giving Spidey the super dark, shiney blues that his suit has in many comics.
I've always had a soft spot for MvCI, even knowing all the issues with it. And I can't lie that all the modding love everyone was giving UMvC3 and none for Infinite...like I get it, but it still made me kinda sad. So to see this is just wonderful, cannot wait to see how it evolves

I'm so unbelievably excited for this because I was a huge mvci for the first couple of years it was out. If this ends up being an graphics overhaul, I'll be happy. Just curious though, is the intention of this to affect gameplay too? Is adding characters or changing balance of the existing characters in the scope of this project? I'm not sure how much of this is figured out currently but would love some insight into this once you're able.
This is really good. The shaders updated in engine look so much better. Max already knows the visuals and where it can be improved and the fact the research done is so good, this game gonna come out really good! 🔥❤
