They dropped the ball on the very things which made UMVC3 such an all time classic. I hope that the next installment will satisfy both old and new fans and will be a game with all the best parts from UMVC3 and Infinite, especially bring back all previous characters, all of em. And update their looks, skins, movesets with everything which has happened in each of their respective franchises chronologically.
I was more annoyed with Nemesis' lvl 3 hyper combo, there was a little splash animation of the green goo, but here's just some cheap ass pngs of green goo ._.
If Marvel hadn't treated this as a giant #ad for the MCU, this game might have got the time and effort it deserved. Ive got no doubt someone at Marvel told Capcom to get the game released quickly to cash in on Endgame
It looks so ugly trying to match the MCU visuals vs the comic visuals of UMVC3. It feels rushed for sure. It's not a bad game, but it's not UMVC3 or MVC2.
It may sound weird but I don't like that there's so many "humanoid" characters. Old MvsC had characters with different shapes and from different races, but most of the characters, specially Marvel newcomers are pretty bois and grrls (and don't get me wrong, I love Black Panther and Black Widow, but MODOK or another X-Men would've been a welcoming surprise)
definitely miss Shuma-Gorath in this one. But, yeah they could’ve put in Mojo or even the Dr Octopus we never got in UMVC3. Maybe some big boys like Fin Fang Foom vs a Cyberbot.
If there’s one thing I can praise this game for it is it’s gameplay. The reason why it’s so good is because of the tag mechanic. Rather than pressing one of two buttons for an assist from one of your characters Infinite’s Tag basically makes it so you can do whatever you want in the heat of a fight. While one character does a hyper combo you can switch a character on the fly to either do another super, start up a combo on the ground or in the air or use an Infinity Stone for multiple effects. The moment I realized you can do so much with this system I realized how genius this game can be, it feels like a natural evolution of the Marvel Vs Capcom series, and if we get a proper Marvel Vs Capcom 4 in the future there’s not much I want to see changed for gameplay, just keep the tag mechanics add in a third character and maybe ditch the Infinity Stones and we’ve got a deep and fun combat system!
The tag team system for this game is WAY too unbalanced. Assists are much better since you hear the point character do a special line for them, and their lines are very in character, like Cap saying "I need backup!" and Spidey saying "Little help here." Aside from assists, you also had things like TAC, DHC, and THC, which also had special lines which are ALSO in character. Infinite's tag system is stupid. It's just saying "Hey let's interrupt my move and extend the combo over and over." For the stones, I don't mind them, but they should have just copy and pasted them from Marvel Super Heroes.
That's a very good way of putting it ... I'm really hoping we get a MVC4/5 or whatever. We all want a do-over. The MVCi Beyond mod is looking sick at least.

The fact that this is X’s Debut makes me sad because I always wanted X in a MvC game as kind of a successor to Megaman in MvC (I always found it weird a form of Megaman was absent, yet Zero made it no problem)…..and it’s in the entry that is the weakest in every aspect. I hope a new entry will keep X as part of the roster to give him another chance to shine
Making videos on this game brought me back to it. I wrote it off based on how ugly it is, but there’s a really fun game underneath. I’m looking forward to that visual mod that Maximillian has commissioned. It looks amazing and hoping it may bring people back to this game
@@DoctorBadvibes Old comment but I just have to get this thought out somewhere: as someone who doesn't play these games but loves watching these videos, of course I notice what everyone else notices where the game looks uglier and less polished than previous versions. What I do notice that is BETTER however is the camera work and the lights/particle effects. UMvC3 in particular was very bad with the camera and the flames/particles in that they made the hyper combos visually cluttered - you often couldnt' tell what the hell the character was actually doing. There were often so many splashes of lights going off it seemed like the work of the actual character animators was getting swallowed up in the proverbial light show...and the camera often didn't center the action of the hyper move correctly, making it all read very badly. They hyper combos in this game aren't nearly as flashy effects-wise - but as a result, you can see what the characters are actually doing, and they polished up the camera work to clearly show the wild string of moves the character is doing. Captain America's level 3 combo is a great example of this. ...which is too bad, really. I just hope if they do more of tehse that they keep those elements in.

I always wanted to like this game because the way it plays is quite fun but I just can’t get over how hard Disney Disneyed all over it. characters just can’t shut up because Marvel characters have to constantly be quipping and making jokes. The music has negative impact because they’re trying to align it with an MCU movie and most MCU scores don’t really stand out, which is fine for the movies but not for a fighting game. The actual hit sounds have no punch to them. A lot of the voice actors sound like they were just there to cash in a paycheck. There’s no deep cut characters on the marvel side because they don’t have movies yet. It’s just so much missed potential.

The game, Marvel vs Capcom made me want to create a crossover fighter game called Marvel vs Tekken and followed by Bandai’s own Marvel fighter game sequel inspired by Injustice called Avengeance and I’ll make special attacks called “Super Blows” and most of these blows will be reused animation from the “Super Moves” in Injustice

This game was made overall very lazily... Take Dante for example.. You mean to tell me that they couldn't bother updating anything about him, and took nothing out of DMC4??. He has new weapons, two new forms in-game, a totally new look and vibe, but they still stuck with the DMC 3 inspired form which we got in MVC3 . If they really wanted that nostalgia factor, they could have made the DMC 3 version from MVC3 as an alternate skin with different aesthetics and mechanicsmechanics, but no. Now if and when the next installment of MVC comes, it actually needs to update/improve it's characters according to source material. By this I mean that when Dante does come again in the next game, if the next game comes, they should adapt all the looks and mechanics and gameplay elements from all DMC installments to date. And there's no excuse to not add Vergil,Nero, Trish and Lady in that game.

I’d say my most favorite from these has to be Frank West’s when he takes the picture referencing deadrising. My least favorite has to be ghost riders eye one, such a down grade from mvc3 and he looks goofy doing it

I think this was like a Monkey's Paw thing. People really wanted to see X in the game. And they did. But the damn paw removed the X-Men in exchange.

Those graphics are awful even for the previous gen systems which came out and almost nothing changed from the previous entry,having mostly in 3 the general presentation on the game better! And why they wasting a good player like mike haggar in this game while he could be on street fighter?!? This game could also run in a freaking ps3 i believe!
