    The biggest croc we have ever had in Australia was a Croc named "Solomon" he was about 26-28ft+ and reached that size by digging up thousands of nesting turtle eggs. He was estimated to be over 120+ years old and weighed well over 3000kgs. They reach 20+ foot here on a norm. Its not that crazy to believe.

    There is a huge 20ft crocodile in the Adelaide River in Australia called Dominator. Literal monster. If you have ever seen a large saltwater crocodile in a zoo or in a wild setting, the first time you ever see one its a shock to the system, its unbelievable how large they actually grow. There is one in Melbourne Sea Life Center called Pinjarra and he's over 16ft and the girth on him is just fucking huge and you can witness him in all of his glory over there, a 16ft crocodile like him is literally like looking into the eyes of death incarnate! Kelly was talking about Hendri Coatzee. The guy was an avid thrill seeker from South Africa and did all kinds of crazy stuff his whole life. He worked as a white water rafter guide and went on a single ride of the River Nile from source till Sea. He even rode down the Congo for 5 months and survived being hunted by cannibal tribes, hippos and crocs. One day 2 pro American kayakers contacted him after he decided to retire because he was getting married and wanted a family etc. He thought he was taking too much risks since he had been doing crazy life or death things for like 15+ years. He was supposed to guide them through the Congo or something I can't remember but initially he was only going to write them an itinerary. He ended up giving in though and decided to go for one more adventure although his fiancee didn't want him to but he promised it would be his last. Long story short he ended up nearly finishing and he got plucked by a croc from his kayak when him and the other 2 made a formation. One was in front, Hendri in the middle and one at the back. They took every precaution they could and Hendri knew everything like the back of his hand but there was a croc that seemed to have been hunting them for a while. By the time it showed itself it was right next to Hendri's kayak. He shouted "oh my God" and it plucked him and he was never seen again. His fiancee was devestated and she was supposed to meet him at a bar/club place on new years eve. She still went for some reason hoping he would just appear but he never did. I recommend everyone watch a video about him on this channel called Final Affliction. It goes super into detail about what happened and about Hendri and his life. Guy was a hell of a person and he was even loved by many locals and villages in these African lands. It is pretty tragic.

    The biggest accurately measured croc was named Lolong after the man who spent years looking for it only to die of a sudden heart attack just before they captured the croc
    There’s video of it being captured and it was taken to a run down zoo where it passed from stress due to a terrible habitat. The scariest thing about it was that after being captured and removed from the village people still ended up missing. The villagers said that Lolong wasn’t the killer croc they were looking for and that there was another giant croc far bigger than it still living in the rivers

    • @baldieman64
      @baldieman64 Год назад +3

      That's somewhat debatable.
      Lolong was certainly the biggest crocodile to be held in captivity and measured at 6.17m.
      There are however accounts of much bigger crocs from the Sundarbans, as well as Australia, where Krystyna 'Krys' Pawlowski shot an 8.6-metre monster in 1957 on the McCarther Bank in the Norman River, Queensland.

      @@pianomirror4833 If the Queen did it, she'd have got a Crocodile to do it. "Live by the Croc, die by the Croc". Being a Reptilian hybrid, The Queen has a special affinity with Reptiles, and can probably shift into any reptilian form, like her mother could.
      .
      One time, the old Queen Mother and Princess Anne were in the Stables at Gatcombe Park, and they went full Velociraptor, and bit the heads off nine Thoroughbreds, two Showjumpers, and an unlucky Stable boy before they were able to shift back. But I don't think the whole reptoid / shapeshifting thing works with Stingrays.
      Also, Australia's version of Princess Di, is Kylie Minogue. Even I know that, and I'm English.

    I rode on a bike trail called Shark Valley in the Everglades where I encountered nothing shy of 100 alligators. As long as you're on land, they seem totally uninterested, unless you fall on top of them. They seem like lazy opportunists. On the other hand, I was watching the crocodile hunter Netflix series and you can tell that Australian crocodiles are actively aggressive, they're much scarier.

    I've lived in far North Western Australia and I've heard the story of the giant croc spotted by helicopter. I don't know if it's true or not but I know a lot of the locals believe it. One theory is that it spends most of its time in PNG and only swims down every now and then to breed. With the proliferation of drones though it seems increasingly unlikely that nobody has caught footage of it.

      And yet, rarely - if ever - do you hear this said about any birds, despite the fact that its TRUE and there ARE some birds who even resemble the public's perception of dinosaurs in an obvious way (thinking of the Cassowary or any ratite and even herons, storks, etc) and that all birds do to the informed observer (pay attention to that robin next time as he runs and hops along the ground, and look closely at any birds legs/feet.)
      Crocodile-line archosaurs in the Mesozoic itself only occasionally resembled today's aquatic ambush hunters, with great diversity of form and shape.. fully terrestrial forms included vaguely tyrannosaur-looking bipedal apex predators to fast-moving, sleek forms about the size of a fox. There were fully marine animals with evolved 'flippers' and back on land there were multiple lines from the Triassic to Cretaceous that evolved herbivorous diets (and usually stout armour.) In fact, those who find dinosaurs interesting should not overlook their fascinating archosaur cousins!

    only thing stopping crocs size is food, same as anacondas those large cold blooded animals never stop growing, they just get older and die. Nile crocodile live to over 80 years, however the aussie Crocs 'saltys' live to over 100 years old and grow to over 8 metres and weigh almost twice as much as the nile crocs 1.6 tons
