I had a friend that worked at the Smithsonian years ago (haven't spoken to her in a very long time). She told me they have a basement with tons of artifacts that they can't show due to them being either controversial or simply denied by the higher ups. She said the skulls were one of these, along with "giant" bones. So, to hear someone at the Smithsonian claim they are all fakes makes me immediately believe they are actually real. Besides, who would I believe, the tribes that are practically older than dirt, or a woman at the Smithsonian claiming they don't exist. Definitely the tribes.
This is in my opinion one of the biggest problems that we have. I can't help but notice that literally 99% of all these academics, scientists, archeologists, historians etc are all dogmatic, close minded people who assume for some reason that they know everything and have it all figured out. Yes it's important to be a skeptic but it's also even more important to not let your personal beliefs and theories get in the way of analyzing stuff. I don't know or what created this stigma associated with anything extraterrestrial. I like the way Joe doesn't deny Dan or try to make him change his thinking, but challenges him in a way that sees Dan expanding on the topic a little further and talking about the flip side of the situation. Joe really encourages discussion, as opposed to just letting someone tell an over fascinating story without opposition.
That's my main response when people start claiming anything on the Joe Rogan podcast was opinionated or hateful, I simply can't believe it, because every clip I've ever seen (I don't watch regularly) has shown to me that he's VERY good at never really taking a side compeltely, but instead offering "devil's advocate" style thought provokers... and I appreciate the hell out of it, because I do that myself, and a lot of people will assume your ideals simply because you're willing to question ALL ideals.

Dan Aykroyd is an absolute legend, and he's been in some of the greatest comedies of all time, but if given the chance to have drinks and conversation with Dan, I would be far more interested in talking about this stuff over hearing his Hollywood stories.
Square normal lame boring low energy low level non thinking people always like to say anyone vibrant and full of life and curiosity are surely on drugs. Idiots.
It's great to see and hear Dan Aykroyd, even in this 4 year old podcast. I honestly miss seeing Dan acting and being on TV over here in the UK. Great podcast, good guest Joe, 👍 👏 👌.
we need more intellectual actors like Dan Aykroyd seriously the fact that he's more than a face of comedy and actually knowledgeable just blows my mind he truly is Ray Stantz god bless this comedic intellectual man
Lol. Blame the younger guys for not wanting to achieve anything 😂 There is no up and coming actor I want to see. In fact I think the movie industry is close to going under for good. No one cares anymore. The Oscar's view count is at nothing. Normal people are getting more famous than Hollywood bc of youtube and tiktok. The kids aren't talented or funny but they get very famous. Times are changing. Celebrities are on the decline and they're definitely not put on a pedestal like they used to be.
ehhh, a lot of actors are like that. they just dont think people need/want to hear what they have to say. youd be surprised that teh first thing most celebs do after getting paid well. is go to school. so when acting fails they have a back up plan
I like how JR acknowledges that he wants something extraordinary to be true, therefore does not trust his bias thought process… this train of thought is so refreshing to hear, not nearly enough pragmatic people interpreting this stuff… people are so afraid of just admitting: “i don’t know.”
Was backpacking through GB in 1984, while in London i happened to come across The Natural History Museum, i went in and was blown away by the content in there, i saw my first "crystal skull: in that place. I had already been into UFOs and the paranormal and the Unexplained, but this skull was just wow. From memory im sure this skull had the detachable/working jaw, i wish i could go back there, but GB is along way from Australia.
I love Dan to pieces. Still has as much energy, knowledge and zest for life as he did in ghost busters back in 84'. He really does! This guy's a wonderful and inspiring person to me. He should have his own Sci fi vs reality type show. I'd subscribe to that. Legend forever
He was in a TV show about the paranormal that never aired. There’s a documentary about it. The show was cancelled before airing as he claims it was due to the men in black(?).
Definitely does him and Tom hanks sound very similar. If he could get all the cast from ghostbusters for an episode would be cool. Also bring in the girl who played Vada
The universe is not only stranger than we imagine, but is stranger than we _can_ imagine. To categorically deny any possibility of things we don't understand is staggeringly arrogant.
I think you're right..but I also believe that if everyday people found out exactly everything that happens "out there"....they would freak out. So..I believe most people choose to disbelieve..for their own sake.
Tbh both deniers and apologists in this case are arrogant. Both can't prove shit and both act like the other side is dumb somehow. The only way to not be arrogant is this debate is by saying "I don't know", because that's what everyone knows: nothing. Dan don't know if the skulls are real, but he talks like they are: that's arrogant. The science lady talks like they're fake, but supposedly made no papers to prove it: that's arrogant.
Dan Aykroyd is one of the few celebrities that truly dares to be open minded in a world where most famous people just trying to fit the mainstream narrative. Refreshing af.
I don't know how daring celebrities have to be to portray themselves as open-minded. They're already free from the social constraints most people live under since their clothing, hobbies and daily lives are all outside the 40-hour plus work week most of us deal with. And quite frankly, when this same guy is promoting a personal product of his using imagery, language and concepts generally associated with this perceived open-mindedness, I have to question whether or not he's any different than any other celebrity hawking water loaded with vitamins, eggs made of jade for your vagina or a 'university' offering courses in real estate taught by people with no licensing or credentials to their names. I'm not joking, take a look at the commercial ruclips.net/video/SKqjIv91Zx8/видео.html. He's pitching a vodka that comes in a glass bottle shaped like a skull and recounts in some detail the story of the crystal skulls, creating in the listener's mind a connection between a narrative that surely has some meaning and weight for many of his listeners with this product he's trying to sell to them for money. That the product is high quality and popular doesn't really hold any water, after all, Beats headphones are probably pretty good and lots of people seem to like them but no one ballyhoos Jay-Z's open-mindedness for making a product that works and sells well. They just call him a businessman and make no fringe-tinted fuss about it. Now I could make a joke about how a guy who's so open-minded selling a high ABV vodka, something meant to dull the senses, fits so well with the demographic who'd even buy into the story referenced by the bottle's shape to begin with are primed to purchase that kind of product, obviously not having much use of their higher faculties anyway, but that would be too easy.
We had a guy who worked with us a few years ago that said he had been abducted as well. I talked with him a few times and really never brought it up as I was not sure how or if I really wanted to hear his story without sounding like I did not believe him or making fun of him . I gave him a ride home one day and he started explaining a bit of it like he knew I wanted to know even though I did not ask. It was very compelling to say the least as working with him I kind of knew he was not some nut case and very intelligent. He said that they always know where he is at all times. He also said there were two types of them being browns and greys and that the greys kept the browns from really messing with us. I took it as kind of a good and evil type of thing and he agreed that was exactly how it works but not really on a level that we could understand. The one thing with him also is you could give him any kind of math problem and he would solve it in his head quicker than we could with a calculator and now matter how complex he was always right. I myself have never seen anything to convince me without a doubt they exist but there is a lot of things we don't understand and to think we are the only beings in this vast universe is pretty arrogant on our part. I mean look how far we have come in the last hundred years and now things are accelerating even faster and where will we be in say 50 years.
@James Fleenor I really like Dr.Travis Taylor because he mentions science as ever evolving. He said Scientists, researchers should want to examine odd events. Without the arrogance of someone like Neil who is an absolute no on anything that deviates from the norm. Coral Castle is an excellent example of possible magnetic propulsion making travel through space seem possible. We will never grow or learn if we think we know everything there ever was or is to know. I am late watching this video lol 🤷♀️. Interesting story about you friend thanks for sharing.
Duo? yeah, but they were also phenomenal on their own. I haven't watched a great comedy in 20 years... grew up watching banger, after banger, after banger. Comedy is wretched nowadays. Haven't watched a good one in decades.
I have to hand it to Joe as well. He has read and remembers so much. I’ve never seen another host who is educated on all these different topics as much as him. Usually hosts sort’ve seem lost when their guests go off on tangents and such.
Dan akroyd is spot on in this podcast. Its awesome to here a guest that has such a great memory and recall of all of the significant UFO/UAP stuff. would love to sit down and talk with him for hours over this because you can tell he is committed to it!
I love that Dan is into this stuff. I feel connected. I also got to hear about the search for Travis Walton from my father, who was a forest service firefighter and helped look for him
So, it was ghosts and aliens that inspired Dan to write the ghostbusters screenplay. Dan created that whole world and believed in what he was writing about. That is why it comes off so believable. My family had a ghost story tradition, but my sister killed it because it was too scary for some kids. I could write a whole book about a character my father used to tell us about for Halloween. I bet someone got Dan going pretty good as a kid. He had a real storyteller in his family.
He actually said i believe he is on the spectrum so thats why he is so obsessed with ghosts alien supernatural stuff because when your on the spectrum, you have a ridiculous memory and you fixate on some things, my son has the memory of a damn genius and hes on the spectrum
Or hes actually just in contact w interdimensional beings since hes on the spectrum and has a different brain to be able to communicate or listen to whats can possibly be done in this world
My favorite comedy of all time is “The Great Outdoors” with Dan and John Candy. It takes me back to my living room with the floor model TV. Great discussion as always with JR!
I think that was their plan. But I don’t even know what to believe anymore because we have access to so much information at the touch of our fingers it insane.
Something I’ve always told myself “Once you believe anything is possible the world becomes a much more interesting place” But I agree with you the more I talk about things like this the more people look at me like I’m insane. I’ve come to the conclusion the average person is just boring.
Man, I didnt realize how much of a hard core believer in ghosts Dan Aykroyd was. I mean did you hear him sniffing, he was channeling the ghost of John Belushi's cocaine addiction throughout the whole interview.

Dan Jonsson I’ll give him credit for that too

@@dynestis2875 ? About what?
Spot on!!
There is more out there than meets the eye, I really believe this.

Dan Aykroyd: I'm not gonna say it is not aliens, but it's aliens.
