On the 2015 Hyundai santa fe you don't need to remove the intake manifold just lift the vehicle with a floor jack and remove the cover underneath the engine then the heat shield covering the starter and you will be able to remove the starter easily.
On the 2013 Sante Fe I'm working on there are hoses in the way that you don't have in your video which makes it almost impossible to remove the top bolt from the starter. If you're lucky and the bolt will break loose with a wrench which is the only thing that will go in there you can remove the bottom bolt completely then put pressure pulling the starter with your hand and loosen the bolt with your other hand so the bolt head stays in place and the pulling keeps the head of the bolt against the housing. A little of a pain but it works
I own a automotive shop, and you can replace that starter without removing that intake manifold. Remove air intake boot and. the throttle body. And a few little bolts to move some hoses around. And you can get that starter out without removing any of that other parts. I do it all the time takes about 45 minute.
Do you have to remove the engine mount? I'm trying it on 2010 with a 3.5 and it's just a f****** disaster? Like it obviously it's not good taking the engine Mount out but like that one bracket looks like it's in the way. Everything so tight
Its a lot harder to follow if the engine is already out. It completely changes the scenario. Like the starter is already in plain view, anyone coukd figure it out from this point
Exactly.. no offense to these guys but this video is pointless. I mean im sure it provides some useful info for someone that already has an idea of what theyre doing but most people watching these videos dont..
This video is a joke...engine removed, bolts and wires already removed around manifold, and you just lifted the manifold to show the starter. There is a big difference when it is in the car, and what and where all the bolts and wires to unclip are. You showed nothing. We all know where the starter is, which is all you showed.
Exactly my thoughts. The most challenging part is how to approach it and move things around when everything is still inside. I just can imagine such tutorial for the medical students: "Open the skull. Extract the brain. Carefully detach the spinal cord and the cerebellum and put them aside. Now I will show you guys, how we can remove that lesion" SMH

I like the mention of sizes being used. Or a tool layout. Good video!

How to fix the clamp that’s broken off starter? Nice video
Is the location similar in the 3.3 v6?
