Last time I went to a car boot sale I did really well; I came home with 12 pasting tables.
😂😂
You don't wanna buy a job lot of table cloths do you?
Great to see a proper car boot sale instead of a glorified Sunday market!!
Totally agree, the last time I went to 1 there was market stalls set up, its not right that they do that, it put me off going to any last year
My local car boot is great. If you’re there early enough, you can catch the house clearance companies. Masses of vegetable boxes laid out on the grass containing an eclectic mix of bric and hidden treasures. If you know what to look for, you may well find it.👍🏻
This one is in Hampshire. Close to my house. Love it
Really love it when I see cash. What will happen when there’s no cash anymore. It will spoil all of this. Keep using it.
I know! Love spending cash 🙌🏼
Definitely not going to be the same when everyone is using their debit cards at the boot sales haha
Cash is King new gen’s are clueless to the sentiment
I love going to the farmers market and getting cash discount
that’s right young bucks cash discount is a real thing because the banks are not charging for the transaction fees for card readers so you save a lot of money
At market the same goes when buying a house and a car from the dealership
You know you can accept card payments on your phone? Really not sure why everyone is hanging onto the idea of physical money. I probably withdraw less than £50 a month everything else is completed using a digital method. I see no need for physical money any more.
@@OpvectorUKmaybe you should research why a cashless society is bad, plenty of reasons as to why you’re far better off with cash than having a digital currency..
Number one reason, you won’t have any control over your money.. the banks and governments will..
@@Dodger7780 Do you keep all of your cash in a safe at home..?
How can people be so unaware of what they're selling, mind blowing
1, Best car boots i've ever seen....2, how quiet, as in not many punters, 3, you're very polite
Wow you are lucky to get a carboot so clean and tidy with good items, where i live its like a mosh pit going to the boot sale! A lot of pick pockets
I edit out the chaos a lot of the time if the clip is too loud/busy. But yeah tbf these boot sales are pretty calm as they go 😅😬
Loved car boot sales as a kid, used to get all my copied Amiga games at them
Watching this makes me miss when I used to go to car boot sales. You got some nice deals there sir 👍
Don't you think ebay is overpriced now. Not for buying but for selling
Fees are nasty, but if you’re buying cheap enough you’ve got nothing to worry about
Vinted is better in my opinion depending on what it is as no fees
Definitely for buying Cars so expensive on their now compared to facebook etc
@@trancebass2741He’s talking about selling fees not the prices of items.
Yeah. I've stopped and gone to niche sites now to sell
I haven't been to a car boot sale in years. Those were the days. Always waking up early on a Sunday, have a drive to Essington Fruit Farm for the car boot and then go to Bescot Market for the afternoon. Brilliant 😊.
good for cheap tat
Love your no mess business approach 😊 in out cheers style..
Ah memories, we lived in Alton when we first got married and did the car boot there when we moved house back in 1989, it was pretty new then.
Oh wow! Bet there were a lot less resellers in the field back then! We lived in Four Marks for a while, now over in Waterlooville 👍🏼
@@JammyDodgerFlips Four Marks is lovely, we’ve emigrated- to Somerset 🤣 we love it here, car boots are thin on the ground though
@JammyDodgerFlips
Hi dear
Where Are these car boots in dundee (Scotland)?
Like seeing a Toyota Pick up in a war zone, you’ll always see IKEA bags at a boot.
That Tamiya Porsche was a steal. That’s worth big money
🙌🏼🤑
Good deal but not worth a lot half built as a mechanic I hate following another's work
@@vasili1207 He still got over £100 for it. I wouldn’t complain 😂.
one born ever minute .... id still pass can get new one for that lol @@trainman665
Doesn’t happen enough now though. It’s getting hard to get the gold because so many ppl are out buying 24-7
Yes Ladles and Jellyspoons, this is how we do it at the car boot. Don't ever be afraid to haggle the price down./.. I know what I want to sell my stuff for so I reverse the price and make it bigger and then let the buyer knock it down to a price I had in mind, that way I get what I wanted or more so I dont have to haggle with him/her, also look out for the dealers they will open your boot before you put stuff out as to speak, you can spot a dealer a mile off by the way they walk looking at 3 or 4 stalls at once and cant wait to get to the next stall walking at fast speed to buy before the punters/public get there... great English car boot Video.... A +1 from me...
When I did a car boot, I always priced up for dealers who arrived well before the punters. You'd get more for your stuff once the crowds were in
I used to pour myself a coffee and wait for the dealers to pass, then you get that knock on the window because they've spotted something through the rear window
The key cruiser casserole dish was given away! at least £20! They are about £200 new!
this should be an ikea ad with all those bags
😂
Orr man can't believe you missed the air max 1 anniversary (10:08 immediately to the right of the air vans you picked up) - about £100 - £120 (depending on size) in good used condition (maybe £200-£250 new) Did good with most of the other buys though!
It happens! Hard to spot every item 😅
@@JammyDodgerFlips watched this several days ago but felt compelled to come back to say the exact same haha.
That table was mental, some veg, trinkets, toys and shoes 😂
I love a bargain at a boot fair, well done.
Those original Tamiya kits are like hen's teeth, good buy pal 👍
Thank you! First time finding an original vintage one like this, didn’t sit around for long! 🙌🏼
Man this felt frantic. Needed a sit down after watching this 😂
You should venture down into Kent and East Sussex. Polegate, Swanley, Paddock Wood, Whitstable, Marsh, Rye, I of Sheppy and Ashford (all year on both weekend days). Swanley is the biggest. Paddock Wood afternoon and can be amazing.
The biggest steal was the Ikea bags
Car boot sales are about the only thing we miss from our time in the UK
The Tamiya Porche for 5 quid is about 8-10 dollars AU, what a bargain of the century, well done. Great bargains at those markets, here in Australia the markets can be a bit savage at times.
I’ve seen a few videos of sales in Australia and know what you mean!
Yeah so happy with this find, it didn’t sit around long. 🙌🏼
That Spyro mug was neat.
If you ever get to Cambridgeshire, you'd find some cracking bargains at Huntingdon Race course. Take a good 3 hours to get round it.
Thanks for the tip
Good vid style...straight in with action after action....and so much nostalgia for many of us I'm sure. Oh and wow the net adds such a new dimension to it..not like the old days..haha.
Much appreciated 😊🙌🏼
My best ever find, an old 45 singles record case stuffed full of vintage 1980s warhammer metal figures. I asked how much and the guy said "Oh, I want quite a bit for that as they're expensive", asked again how much - £15, I couldn't get the money in his hand quick enough. After a bit of research I priced the contents around £600 - £700 - I sold an empty box found inside for £20, a greater demon figure £40, dwarf cannon and crew £40, 1 x ogre £28 etc.
Wow, epic find! What a bargain 👏🏼👏🏼
Early lead citadel miniatures are gold,
That Tamiya Porsche 935 is a SUPERB model. I should know, I bought one in Japan for about £35 in 1981. And yes, they are selling for £130-£150 now!
£35 in 1981 is worth £168 adjusted for inflation in 2024. So the price is more or less the same since 1981.
Yeah sounds about right with inflation! New and unbuilt, looking at more £250+ I think now
You can buy all the stuff in the car boot but you still have to sell it and thats not easy nowadays as the price on a lot of second hand stuff has come down like mad
Good for you - especially on the "Sketchers"...! But that telescope was junk, mate. You probably sold it and made a profit, but I wouldn't have it as a gift. Lovely leather case for just a quid...! I didn't realise a Walkman was in demand, I got one for a fiver with everything including a pukka Sony shoulder bag, for my personal use. Sadly, my local boot sale is pricier than the local charity shops...
Bet this man's made some right money from car boots, very knowledgeable on prices 🧐
👀 it’s a tough one to master, like anything, you’ve got to put the work in to reap the rewards.
I remember the days you actually went to a carboot to buy things you liked and wanted , not to flip , these money orientated videos just leave a bad taste IMO
Haha if I wasn’t doing it, someone else will. But I respect your opinion
Yh Cos you ain't making no pennies 😂
Just see it has a personal shopper, he has to get up early to find the bargains to sell on , me personally would just go into work on a Sunday if I needed extra money, but if I didn’t have a job I would be buying and selling things to so I could survive
Nothing wrong with it at all. It actually takes a lot of time, money and mistakes to realise what works and sells. You'll always lose money before you make money unlike a traditional job.
I love used to going to boot sales looking around and doing them are selves years ago with my mum who passed years ago it was funny where we went with all people doing and seeng or buying thing things or also what they used to sell😮😊
I do couple boot fairs funds for our scouts troop we have bit fun raise money one boot fairs we raised 300.00pounds all on odds ends amazing bits you thought wouldn't sell sells😊
The early bird catches the worm! Ker-ching! Great work, my friend.👍🏻 🔭👟🚗 💷
Thank you 😊
There is one huge difference between the people selling at boot sales and your "bargain basement" deals.
THEY are simply clearing clutter out and don't really need the money.
YOU are making a living off car boot sales and NEED the money.
Good channel name representing it well : JammyDodger
It’s the nickname the wife gave me after coming back with awesome deals every Sunday morning 😆
I found a Sega Saturn with about 30 games in with it, all boxed. The guy wanted "Big money for it" - £50. In total, I sold it all on eBay for just over £1500.
Well done, mate. I'm still kicking myself for NOT picking up an acorn Atom, with peripherals and manuals, for £20.
At the time, 2012, they were £300 just for a spares or repair example.
Sega Saturn my god things was so much better back then 👍👌
Just started ebay ing and this was really useful😊 thx
Hilarious people putting prime drinks out..
The time spent involved in travelling, purchasing, entrance fee, advertising, packaging, actual cost of item will bring down the profit margins quite noticeably on many of the items. As a hobby and a bit of cash I can understand it to be fun though.
I do it full time, hard work but all possible if you scale it properly. It’s all about the buy price & product knowledge.
@@JammyDodgerFlips Fair play to you. I suppose it can work out if you regularly find high margin items otherwise you may as well just get a job. All the best to you.
dealers with house clearence take the rubbish to the boot . Any good stuff goes to Malven flea
or strafford on avon boot on a sat
i like you content ☺️ im from indonesia☺️
Great video, I feel like having a mix of you at the carboot for the first half and then at home the second half would be nice - including a running total of spent vs sold or something
Yeah I do plan on doing this a bit more, I usually forget or too busy!
I just stumbled across your channel. And I've never seen so many valuable items at a car boot. You're a lucky guy with all these finds. I tend to come home empty handed from car boots these days. Also love the content. I subbed
Thanks for subbing! The items are out there, you just need to be very open minded about what you pick up. Keep learning what sells and the finds will roll in 😊
You put a bag in a bag, a bag in a bag. Mad.
I know, mad.
Amazes me people can’t be bothered to check how much things are selling for on ebay before giving them away in car boots or to charity. And you don’t have to stand in the cold or rain.
People are lazy this day and age. Just want quick cash. Takes a lot of work to get items in a good sellable condition 😊
Thanks
lol@@JammyDodgerFlips
It's not that they can't be bothered. Car booting is a scene. People enjoy it and it's sociable. They'd rather do that then sell remotely.
Because it's to much messing around with online selling ppl are to busy
Ive just given a load of advertising signs away to a charity shop, some were worth a lot of money, but i would rather the animal charity have the cash than me do all the photoing and uploading etc that goes with internet selling.its just not worth the hassle.
Keep a blanket in the car to cover your stuff in a hatchback buddy. Windows can ‘pop-out.’
Car boot is probably the best way to get a lot of resell value out of peoples things.
People just put a price on it, not knowing how much it’s really worth. 🤣
Exactly why I do what I do! 🙌🏼🤑
Capp doffed to you sir. Love it!!
I dunno if you do them but I'd be interested in follow up videos to show what stuff sells, how quickly, whether you achieve what you hope for etc etc.
Good video tho 👌
Something I’ll be doing this year. Thanks for watching 🙌🏼
When i saw the logo on that tamiya car ik u can make money even if it’s incomplete
Exactly! Vintage Tamiya, can’t go wrong. Turns out it was missing a rear tyre, sold for £100+ within a few days 😊
Clicked on this video randomly and the first carboot is where i live ! Wasn’t sure at first but when you said just heading to Alton I knew for sure it was the country market lol
Correct! Country market is one of my main ones in the summer. Alton also good for the charity shops 👀
Hampshire massive 😊😊😊
I was trying to figure out where it was. I thought meant Alton village as in Alton Towers. I’m 30 mins from Alton Towers so I was hoping it was midlands area. I never knew there was an Alton down south.
@@RuddyHandshake mate you wouldn’t believe how often we get asked which way to Alton towers and we say 100 miles that way 🤣
Enjoyed video brother. I love carboots. You seem to be quite good at buying good sellers. All the best with sales.
Always check battery compartments for wireless keyboards/mice as the dongle is most likely in there
Was going to say that looks like country market normally a very busy car boot but not been to the one at the departure lounge
I haven’t been to a car boot in years - and no idea why I was suggested your video - but your local to me and wondered where this car boot is ?
This is Bordon, Hampshire. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Oh bloody brilliant Cuisine Royale is my favorite Bond film😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
😆
Walkman was a good buy
Really like good old car boots
This one is one of the best out there. Good old family day out 🙌🏼
I LOVE CAR BOOTYS! Better than some glitzy shopping centre!
Million times better!
Never been to a car boot. No idea why this was recommended to me. You can have a like though for your politeness and the fact you didn't unnecessarily haggle every price.
Haha love that! RUclips algorithm doing its thing 😅🙌🏼
your too posh to push.
You ever been to carew airfield in South Wales? Massive car boot there on a Sunday always lots of good stuff there
That's the way to do it , in and out quickly , no elaborate bargaining and move on .
Wait…Oulton? That’s exactly where I live😂 the first time I’ve ever heard someone on RUclips living in the same place lol
It’s Alton, Hampshire 😊
Hunter wellies can be tricky, Mine sprang a leak and I never did find it.
Yeah the rubber cracks after some time, so always gotta be careful.
IKEA bag. The calling card for the reseller
Best bags 👊🏼
I think you learned a lesson with the toy telescope. To be able to see anything apart from the moon you have to spend a couple of thousand quid. I bought a x400 scope years ago when I didn't know better. Cost me about two hundred. Not much use, and I'd have been better off spending the money on a good pair of binoculars.
Haha yeah, well you live & learn! Next time I’ll leave it behind of course 😅
Sometimes you’ve gotta spend money to learn in this business
Some good profit to be had, yes.. Provided you're happy to do the donkey work, and also have to store it somewhere in the meantime.. These people selling are there to get rid of stuff fast, not wait to get the best prices, advertise them, then go to the post office with every item
..
Yeah it’s not as easy as a simple video makes it out to be. Storage, presenting it & actually selling it and then finally packing it in the hope that the buyer is happy. It’s a full on business
@@JammyDodgerFlips unbelievable finds.. car boots near me are dirty soft toys , canvas prints of ballerinas and CDs.. :)
Wow, I forget how cheap some people are willing to let stuff go for. As a kid I used to go every Sunday with my Mum, it was painful to wake up at 6am to get there but I look back fondly on them 90’s Sunday mornings, NGL.
Car boot sales in the 90s would’ve been quite something. Imagine all the now retro consoles & Pokemon cards😆

Just discovered your channel. Don't normally comment on the eBay re seller videos but yours had the kind of stuff I would have picked up. Some nice cool stuff. New sub from me !

@@JammyDodgerFlips BMX stuff is good to find. Suntour, SR, GT, DYNO. New old stock motorbike stuff or motorbike boots. Pick them up in late September, then re sell them in April when the motorbike seasons starts. Any old Raleigh bikes with 'R' nuts are good for parting out. Keep up the good work.
Interesting. I also like that you don't haggle the prices as you appreciate the value of items. 👌🙌
One thing I'd like to know...
How are you filming this? It looks surreptitious and the sellers aren't aware of it. 🤔
Thanks for watching. I use a chest mounted Go Pro, it’s all on show but I find everyone is too caught up in their own world to realise. The ones who do see it usually ask for the channel name haha 😆
Our car boot sales up here in the East Riding are just full of kids clothes and tomato plants and over priced pentium 2 PCs. O and don't forget the stolen tools. All the good stuff goes on ebay. Before EBay there was a great supply of old games consoles, books, cycle parts , even the odd antique. Last car boot I went to was in Pocklington. I spotted a mountain bike frame. Looks good I thought. How much do ya want mate?
Make me an offer.
Ok £30 quid .
😂 £30 quid, I was looking for at least £200.
£200 quid in your pocket on a Sunday morning. Get real.
£200 for a MTB Frame!? Okay in a shop maybe but definitely not at the booty. It was probably full of hidden cracks too 😂

Hey mate, just stumbled across this video, very interesting! I buy/collect vintage toys. Quick question, worth a shot - have you ever come across any "Samurai Pizza Cat" figures? I've been collecting them for years and there is one that I'm missing and never been able to find. I am wondering if I ask a few regular car booters, you never know someone might find some and allow me "first dibs" to purchase from them! Please keep me in mind! Thanks! D
No Skechers are cheap especially in outlet shops.

The difference between UK and Portugal, all this black market cash in hand stuff goes on. In Portugal Brits like ducking and diving but the police stop them because it is illegal and you need a licence so Brits started a facebook page to slag off the police.
Selling your stuff in a field is black market now 😅
@@robdegoyim4023 You need a licence to sell your own stuff and if you bought to sell then you need to show a receipt that shows where you bought it to resell, if you are in a vehicle stopped by traffic and fiscal police then you need an itemised paper showing what you have. If you have a paper from a supermarket till from the day before you will be fined as the ticket is only valid that day. If you have different boxes of fittings in your vehicle you must have a paper or book to show how many you started with and how many are stock in the vehicle. Its not like ducking and diving in the UK.
@@CarlosAlberto-ii1lidoes that mean I can't sell my car for example if I don't have some sort of selling license or is this targeted at the equivalent of car boot sellers?
