Ebay scouts, I imagine that's what car boots are full of these days, and in return, the car boot sellers hike the prices up , no real winners just a money rat race full of competitors trying to out wit and deceive one another
That’s why I’ve stopped reselling the few bits I find. Just find stuff for myself now.
Look, flipping is cool it’s not my business how you make money but the way you scoffed at the man selling his item at £20 and even exclaimed to the camera to confirm as much. It’s like “how dare you sell the item for its actual value! You sell it for cheap, so I can sell it for 20 online and make some money”

Then that person can sell it on eBay, not being funny I sell at carboots to clear out the attic cheaply, if I had valuables I'd put it online, the rest I just want to get rid of and make a couple quid in the process.
@@scubadeer lol. That’s your way of doing things. The guy wasn’t in a hurry to get rid of his item plus had a couple of hundred of buyers ready to pay on the spot. None of the fuss you get on eBay. He can do what he wants with his item.

@@victorcamarasa7882 I'd be happy someone wants the bloody stuff, if they want to make money off it, good luck to them! I had what I asked for. These people with the white vans are normally house clearance anyway, they've paid pennies for the items, they're the resellers!
Trying to buy bits before the person has even got them out of their vehicles on multiple occasions is the sign of desperation/rudeness!

everyone does it, its just about being polite, sellers just want to sell their stuff, so whoever gets there first is most likely to buy it
Don't organisers usually stop selling in like the first hour, so ppl got time to set up?
@@DL-zq5ie sometimes but most now sell early bird entry which is expensive but you usually let in way earlier and you really these days have to pay it otherwise you miss out 🤷♂️ I prefer it when it’s all enter at the same time but most don’t operate like that now atleast down this area

I used to love to do a car boot sale but the pushy, grabby, aggressive dealers who start rooting through your stuff when you havent even set up made me give up. I like that you are polite and ask if it's ok to look at stuff - there are others who do not ask and rip stuff open, decide not to buy it and leave it in a mess...I'd rather donate stuff to a charity shop or sell it myself on Ebay than put up with the fighting dealers any day of the week.
Some people are ruthless indeed 👍🏻

I did my first ever car boot and yeah exactly this. I never done one again. People turn up too early before you’ve even set up ripping through everything with zero respect. After they’ve all been and done that your so stressed because by the time it opens your still not ready everything is a mess because they’ve ruined your day. People like me were going into it for more of the enjoyment rather than the money. But it wasn’t enjoyable.
@@jaylondon283 best option is to turn up late or just don’t set up for an hour or so and go enjoy the carboot first yourself 👍🏻 don’t be too discouraged it’s fun if you can avoid the stress

Every time i do a car booty i always post it note all my items with ebay prices this keeps the nippy resellers away then when proper buyers come along looking for something they genuinely need i just inform them those post it notes are just to keep away the leechy resellers lol .... "works everytime" :)

I hate car boot sales now. Full of scoundrels. Back in the early 90's we used to sell. Old geezer used to set up near us selling jewelry. Horrid old fella, right old misery. He went to the toilet and left his young grandson in charge when he came back little fella had sold a gold bracelet for 3 quid instead of 300!! Lolz.

My point is not everyone feels comfortable being on camera, some people love it but others hate it and even the thought of being filmed makes them nervous.
A courtesy to ask if they mind being on camera.
The other issue is some people may be wary of getting caught out with hmrc if they are selling regularly and perhaps not declareing this income.
The last time I went to one of these car boot sales, nobody was selling anthing
Is it worth bringing in high value items to carboots as well as your usual stuff or will the high value stuff never sell? The way I see it, if you are a collector of things, then surely seeing collectibles in person, knowing exactly what you are getting in person and can verbally discuss a price, is much better than an ebay listing for example. Though i guess the traffic wouldnt be anywhere near as high
Yes it just takes longer for collectors who are willing to pay collector prices to show up. Lots of collectors use carboots to collect at a cheaper price 👍🏻

I would have liked to have brought more stuff off him to be fair, that's why I took my time as I was looking. But the camera has already sold for £60 so can't grumble too much, I guess 🤣 everyone knows the rule, if you put it down, it's fair game! It's normally gone from your hand before you've even had the chance to put it down 🤦🏻♂️ I've had it happen to me way too many times that I've learnt my lesson now 👍🏼

The one thing i hate is the group's that surround the van. Had so much stolen because they come at you in their droves.
Resellers are not as bad as them. I have heard some resellers offer more money than what the seller asked for.
Carboots are more horrendous now than ever!
I don't bother with car boots anymore because of these eBay sellers as now its just silly and people change more for stuff now i don't have a problem with people who do sell stuff on eBay fair play to them but i would not want the hassle wat really pisses me off when people go on free sites as there is a low life on my street making money from that

@@rich35ukuk Ideal for you then. Our nearest one is Fair Oak/Brookfield car boot. Probably the worst field possible for boot sales. Field is like a sponge. Many a time cars get stuck in the field. That's why we would rather go to Ford or Bordon.

Me and the wife will be selling at this boot sale in May or June. Just to get rid of loads of stuff. Then, at a certain time, will just give it away for free, then you watch the table get lynched !! This boot sale is good, but I agree with the many comments about the dealers and resellers fighting to get to your items before you've put them out spoils it. With regards to electricals, you're quite right to ask if it's working. There's some shit sellers out there who would sell their grandmother given the chance.

If they are smart enough to make profit on top, good luck to them. It's the Chinese sellers that have ruined Ebay, not people like this, and in Australia have been the root cause of postage price hikes, given we deliver all their mail for free, and they barely pay anything at their end, someone has to pay for that and it isn't them. It's also very stressful now with all the scammers, hats off to anyone who can deal with that

Because they haven’t even set up yet, the whole place is full of eBay re sellers getting in your way while you’re trying to set up. Wasting time looking for ways to get you down on price while also searching a re sale price in front of you. And oh yeah there’s 10 of them all doing the same thing. Not allowing you to set up. If it opens for traders at 6am they will be there at 5 am
Sometimes the attitudes are bad of sellers or buyers just seems to be the way it is now ... Try and enjoy the experience whatever
