I have an iPhone 4, and I still use it as my daily driver to this day. It's battery is amazing for a product that is a decade old, it will hold up for three days on a two hour charge (In comparison, my iPhone 3GS takes 37 hours to fully charge and will last for 10 minutes, my Dell laptop from 2009 (which I also use to this day, it's may main PC) takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge, and it discharges in 50 minutes). The display, being retina, is still a really good competitor to some of my other devices and is by far the most crisp display I own. My iPhone, also, (surprising for being 10 years old) has no cracks in the front or back glass at all. The home button died early last year due to me putting a bit of glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wiping the screen a few times, yet it still works, you just have to push quite hard. The camera quality is certainly becoming less and less acceptable, even being 720p, photos come out noisy and the colours have something off about them. Videos are the same. Performance is acceptable to say the least, but it's quite fine because all of the other tech I own is prehistoric, still works, but they are all a bit below "okay" in the computing power aspect. Back when it had iOS 6, it ran quite well. iOS 7 also gives me very little apps to work with and old, sometimes-non-working versions of popular apps. (Reddit and RUclips work, Discord doesn't launch, but installs) Now being stuck to iOS 7.1.2 - due to Apple's [sort-of] infamous planned obsolescence - I no longer have the lovely skeuomorphic icons removed after Steve's death, but I'm a bit happy that they are bringing a bit of it back in the MacOS Big Sur betas (But things like the Messages, FaceTime, and battery icon look a bit off, other people share this opinion too (It's most likely the overdone drop shadows making it a bit too extra...)). I only really pay attention to Apple pre-2011 as that's when Steve had control and I think he just did things: better. Overall, the phone holds up well in my standards of today, and it's sad that it's a 3G phone, as 3G will be shut down at latest in 2024 (in Australia, where I live, I don't know the US' status). I plan to continue using it until my SIM no longer supports it. Then, I'll keep using it until the battery finally gives in. (I don't use my SIM, like, ever; so it's not a huge worry for me)
@@titan9259 Unfortunately my iPhone 4 kicked it in early 2022. It just turned off one day and was stuck in recovery mode. I re-installed iOS and re-jailbroke it and it worked for another week or so before turning off again, and it never came back no matter what I tried. I got an iPhone 12 mini soon after (it still feels like a huge phone lol). Now that the long-distant year of 2024 has arrived, and 3G shuts down this September, there's not much use to it anymore unfortunately. I still maintain that it was Apple's best phone.
Still I am using iphone 4, now almost 10 years. I brought in Singapore Singtel 2010 March , in Still I Don't have any major Problems I am now using it... Thanks to Steve Jobs
The white iPhone 4 was my first ever phone. It was also the first piece of technology I had ever broken. I cracked the screen a little bit by dropping it on my driveway and then maybe a year later dropped it and shattered the entire back. I’m pretty sure I had this phone until the iPhone 6s came out. This was also my first camera. It took great photos for the time and I still even have some of the photos, they look pretty good! I loved my iPhone 4!!
I found a bag at work the other day with every generation iPhone from the 3GS to the 12 pro max, most broken in some way but interesting all the same to appreciate just how well they’ve all been designed. The bubbly backside of the 3GS brought back a flood of memories from 2008-9. The iPhone 4’s design was and still is a masterpiece, when you hold it in your hand you just can feel it.
My first phone was the iPhone 4 back in 2014 , but I moved on to a 5s a week later. But after the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge was launched , I couldn't stop myself from lusting over the curved super AMOLED panel, and i have been daily driving a Samsung and an iPhone ever since.
my first smartphone was the iPhone 4... it was such a great phone and I loved it. Sure you can say the iOS 7 update ruined the experience, but I was glad as hell that I got it. Good times
This was my first phone I got it in late 2011 and used it until mid 2017 when I got the SE. The iPhone 4 was good but the power button, home button, and Camera stopped working so it became a useless glass brick.
I had a black 16GB iPhone 4 in middle school. It was an amazing phone. Had to sell it when I got the 4s. Later on my uncle gave me his old white iPhone 4 for free. I jailbroke it on iOS 7 and its still somehow faster than an iPhone 4s on iOS 9
I think this might be your best video to date. Thank you for posting. I still own the original iPhone, the iPhone 4, the iPhone 5, and the original iPhone SE. I never gave them up for nostalgia sake. Looking at each of those phones today reminds me of good times and bad. They are like milestones from my life.
I really loved the iPhone 4/5. It is still my favorite design. The bands on the side gave it a sturdiness. I was in Salt Lake City on a slope near the base of a mountain where I dropped the iPhone 5. It went bouncing on pavement downhill but suffered only very minor scuffs on the corners. Because of the Antennagate on the iPhone 4, there was a problem with the signal not being as strong if your fingers crossed a certain spot on the external antennas, but it wasn't much of a problem for me. As a result, Apple gave everybody a free case, which I got, but I didn't use it much. I was actually pretty happy with the iPhone 4 camera. There was a time when 5 megapixel was considered premium.

My dad was the first one in my family to buy an iPhone, and it was the iPhone 4. My brother and I were so fascinated with the phone that we wanted to use it as much as we can when my dad wasn’t using. It really was an amazing piece of technology and it’s one of the main reasons why I still use Apple products today.

As I watched this on my iPhone 8 Plus, yeah, Steve had also an impact for me. I had an iPhone 4 years ago and it truly felt like it was ahead of it's time.
My dad has one of the 4s for a while up till probably 2016. I remember being so happy to use it even though I had a 5c. I remember i loved the small design and how it got the job done. Eventually the phone broke with ios9 and hr had to get a new one being the iPhone 6s
I bought the iPhone4 back in 1999 and loved that thing. I never got an iPpd so having a phone that could also play my music I WAS the device I was looking for. I loved my iPhone 4 so much I used it for a goodf 2 years until iOS 7 ruined it and eventually the battery didn't hold a charge like it used to. As for antenagate. I never got a single dropped call with the iPhone4, mostly because I qualified for a free case from Apple and that might have helped.
i still have my iPhone 4 and it was my first smartphone and i upgraded to an iPhone 6 and currently im using an iPhone XS Max . Even after 10 years i still keep my old iphone 4 and it still works just fine
I’d had the original iPhone and the 3G up until April 2010 but I hadn’t fallen in love with iPhone until I got this one. Jailbroke it the night I bought it and never looked back.
I have been using the Iphone 4 since 2012. Still works great as a telephone: calling, & texting. As a smartphone not so much: more and more apps refuse to work & browsing is frustrating. Mail does work though. No social media for me (on my phone), and i'm happy with it. Nice and quiet. Cellular, bluetooth and wifi are turned off, and the Iphone 4 has battery life of a couple of days. Did i mention it is small? I'll keep using it till it dies. I love it!
I was handed down an iPhone 4 by my dad in 2013. I LOVED that thing and was so proud owning one because I felt like I was rich. The design was and still is beautiful, especially compared to Android phones of the time.
I actually know a lot of kids at my school who still have iPhone 4s, and it makes sense. They work, get the job done, and do everything a teenager would want a smartphone to do.
Seeing how passionate and genuine Steve Jobs was talking about the iPhone 4 makes me really happy for some reason like you see that and you know that he was proud of the phone and one of the best iPhones created
The first thing that introduced me to Apple and technology in general was the IPod Nano 4g but the first IPhone I ever held in my hands was an IPhone 4. To this day it’s one of my favorite pieces of technology of all time. It’s remarkable, I’m writing this on an IPhone 11.
Amazing video, it truly is amazing to think about how much our lives have been influenced by him. If it weren’t for Steve Jobs, we wouldn’t be commenting on this video.
I'm watching this video on my iphone 4s, these phones sell very cheap online now. And I gotta say, this phone's display really is great, maybe even better than my current budget android phone. Battery life and performance is where it fails though. But I guess I'm just glad I still get to use while it is still usable.
NO... I went back to your first video and the comments are turned off...So i'll comment here, you've come a long way Hockeyman 91! I still use an Iphone 4s, and love the 4/4s design, about 3 years ago i found myself using my Iphone 6s far to much and wasting too much of my day, so I went back to my 4s and the slowness isn't actually to bad, as it makes me only use it when i need to!
I still own one! I tell my son how it was an important milestone in phone history for all the reasons you mention. Can you believe that the camera has a flush design? It will be the last time for that, minus the 4S.
The iPhone 4 was my first iPhone and first smart phone, loved that thing, it was a beautiful design, still have it today, obviously not my main phone lol.
My first smartphone was probably something from cricket or boost lol my first iPhone was iPhone 5 I bought in 2014. It changed everything for me and I've never looked back. I get nostalgic thinking about it, as I was a senior in high school and to this day it's my favorite iPhone design. Honestly, I don't ever see myself leaving Apple, the entire ecosystem works so seamlessly no other tech company compares. Not even close. Great video, man!

The original iPhone was released in 2007 ; but you bought an iPhone 4 in 1999?🤣
If you had an iPhone 4 in 1999 it would have been like possessing Extra terrestrial level technology.
Great video again josh!
Thanks for the heart josh! :-)
I wish I could do a zoom meeting on the iPhone 4, that would be funny.
Your videos have amazing quality.
i still have my iPhone 4 and it was my first smartphone and i upgraded to an iPhone 6 and currently im using an iPhone XS Max . Even after 10 years i still keep my old iphone 4 and it still works just fine
This is the first I seen a review with such emotional impact....rip steve jovs you were a great rapper🤘😔
Rapper?
The iPhone 4 was my very first iPhone. I had the second gen iPod touch beforehand, but this felt like an entire new world was opened up.
yes, I still have my beautiful iPhone 4, with plenty of battery life since I replaced 6 months before I switched to the iPhone 5s three years ago.
I got my 4 on launch day and got a free case under the antenna gate programme. Kept it for 2.5 years and was happy enough at the time.
It went down hill after we lost Jobs... He would never have approved of the protruding camera bump, im sure.
This is why I bought my iPhone 12 mini in black just as my own tribute to the epic iPhone 4 and 4s. I miss this phone so I’m in love with my 12.
I’d had the original iPhone and the 3G up until April 2010 but I hadn’t fallen in love with iPhone until I got this one. Jailbroke it the night I bought it and never looked back.
This was my first iPhone loved it. Never used a case and never broke it was an awesome phone and kept me in iOS still today 7 phones later
The 4 is still one of my favorite designs, and I held onto the 5S just for nostalgia.
Those pictures were hideous!
My mother had it. A portion of our memories in the early 2010s were taken with this phone.
Remember when you had to be rich to have an iPhone 4/4s now everyone has one
I actually know a lot of kids at my school who still have iPhone 4s, and it makes sense. They work, get the job done, and do everything a teenager would want a smartphone to do.
Seeing how passionate and genuine Steve Jobs was talking about the iPhone 4 makes me really happy for some reason like you see that and you know that he was proud of the phone and one of the best iPhones created
iPhone 4 was my first iPhone from 2012 to 2016. It’s still around but I traded it to my dad for his 4s, which I still have. Both are awesome devices!
But I guess I'm just glad I still get to use while it is still usable.
iPhone 4 was my first iPhone. it was so revolutionary at the time and the design is still amazing to this day.
Yas the glorious iPhone 4! 😄
Great video man . Here’s to the crazy ones!
Thanks! And glad the 4S is still somehow working for you- props, I don’t think I could do it.
I got the iPhone5 and never looked back from there on. I love these phones and I hope they go back to that design
I still own one! I tell my son how it was an important milestone in phone history for all the reasons you mention. Can you believe that the camera has a flush design? It will be the last time for that, minus the 4S.
I've still got two iPhone 4s that still work perfectly well.
The iPhone 4 was my first iPhone and first smart phone, loved that thing, it was a beautiful design, still have it today, obviously not my main phone lol.
I jail broke my iPhone 4 and then up using it till early 2017 as a sidekick phone. Honestly one of the greatest phones of all time.
I still own mine with the box it came with and I never dropped it!
My favorite design in a phone ever tbh, I wish Steve Jobs was alive today, maybe Apple wouldn't be so regressive and greedy
Me Going to sleep 91Tech: new video 😂
I hate when you tubers upload a vid but It’s 4 am in ur time zone
