Hey all, thank you for watching! Quick correction: This Dodge Hornet GT is a *2023* model, rather than a 2024 - According to the information we currently have from Dodge, the R/T (shown here on TFLcar: ruclips.net/video/R0vW3Vw8rQY/видео.html) *is* going to be a 2024 model. Apologies for any confusion!
The 2023 Dodge Hornet GT is available to build and configure now, if you're interested. The R/T, for its part, will arrive later on this year.

For the record: crossovers can only look so good, but the Hornet is pretty sharp. And for the segment this thing's performance at base price isn't a slouch. I think it is a correct assessment to put it up against the Mazda offerings because those from Honda, Toyota, and Hyundai/Kia, Ford, and GM just aren't at the level with this size vehicle.
The problem, and this is something Mazda faces too, is that a lot of people who buy these crossovers couldn't tell the difference between 150hp or 300hp in the same class vehicle. Space is their most valued trait and they'd never pay extra for power because they'd never know they had any. We will see folks comparing this to a 158hp Honda HR-V and choosing the Honda purely on price and size. Or, more likely, price matching instead of size matching to vehicles 1 - 2 sizes higher. Namely the CX-5, RAV4 and Rav-4 prime, and Honda CR-V & Pilot.
The same people see a Mazda3 turbo and in their minds there's a giant *=* to a $20k Corolla L trim, or the $15k one they bought 20 years ago. Or they see a GRCorolla and are actually confused why it's not a 20k car.

I believe that what STELLANTIS wants to eventually do, is to replace all domestic Dodge and Chrysler Cars/SUVS… and replace them with Italian and French - sourced products..such as Peugeot,Citroen,Fiat, and Alfa Romeo vehicles, wearing Dodge and Chrysler nameplates.

This is what is happening with the American auto industry. The big 3 have eliminated sedans and coupes not because of low demand like “they” say. It’s because cheaper economy cars don’t make as much money. They dupe you into buying a “crossover” or small suv that they tech load that is 10 to 15k over what the equivalent car in their lineup that they used to have.
Now the big three no longer have a true economy car in their lineups. Even the cheapest models are so tech loaded they are no longer cheap.
Big 3 please bring back the no frills analog economy vehicles please. So everyone can get a new car if they need one.

Kona N is the subcompact with #'s similar. Its 35K but currently thers won't be one in the resigned 2024 model. They said they may do a full N again with redesigned but it will be electric.
Nline is all there will be at launch, 195/195 with the 1.6T and 8spd traditional transmission. They ditched the DCT for new model.
Now were talking if that price holds. Much more reasonable $ compared to the RT. This I would buy but its 35k not 30k like you said, same as Kona N with similar performance #'s

I've never owned an older Alfa, so I can't comment on them, but I can tell you the current Giulia/Stelvio are, indeed, good and reliable cars. The first couple of model years had battery issues, but otherwise there are no major issues (check the Giulia forums like I did before purchase). Understand that both these products were designed by a team headed by the same guy who developed the Ferrari 458, and it shows in the driving experience, even in the 4-cylinder cars.

The only thing that's visually appealing about that car is the color. Seriously, did Dodge have their design interns crank this thing out during a lunch break? The only requirements appear to be "make it look like a Dodge in the front," and "make it roundish like all the other small SUVs in its segment." "Oh also this thing is based on an Alfa so don't change too much about it."
I'm not sure who Dodge thinks the target market for this thing is, but I have to assume that massive amounts of intoxicants factor into it.
