simple while backing straight, hand on top of the steering wheel if you see your rear trailer come to the left turn your steering wheel left. Always keep ahead of it and the offset an alley dock are the exact opposite. So if you want your trailer to come to the left into the alley you start to jack it with your steering wheel going clockwise to the right and then as soon as the trailer starts responding follow which means go the opposite way. You can jacket either way you can follow it either way
Thank you for the video! One thing that would be extremely helpful for new students is to show the full body of the tractor when doing the alley back/ 90 deg.
when I taught at the school I worked at the three states that they dealt with mainly did and I believe they still do ,the following tests. Circle check, drop and hook, straight backing, paralelle parking ,and the ally dock. Mad skills🎉🎉🎉 would have loved to see position of the tractor on the alley dock…I’m a student is why I say that thanks for helping with other maneuvers
In my state, and I believe it's like this in every state, you always do a straight line back, an offset right or left, and then the 3rd maneuver is either a parallel park to either side, or an alley dock.
Takes me 10 times to back my travel trailer into a campsite with my wife on a handheld radio, completely blocked from my view, telling me to "go more this way".

Yeah, if you mess up here, it is only a cone or two that gets squashed. in the truck stop it is a fender or hood. And half of the drivers there don't park straight either.

If you can see the mini cones and your tandem axles being close to them you know there is no way you will hit the other trucks backing it in properly around them. I cant see what the tractor drive wheels are doing for his 90 deg docking maneuver. you have only zoomed in on the rear of the truck. Other maneuvers are very helpful
I thought our drive test was hard here in Ontario. We only have to do one maneuver and that is a 90° backup. I definitely would not want to be testing in your area. Also, our fail rates here on your first test are roughly 70%. I can't imagine what your first drive test fail rates are.
