For those looking for a review from someone who’ve tried this recipe: - the flavour was pretty good - the rice wasn’t thoroughly cooked since the amount of water instructed was insufficent - some parts remained uncooked and some slightly overcooked My Chinese friend suggested: 1) stir-fry the veggies without adding water 2) put rice into the rice cooker first and then add the corresponding amount of water for the rice 3) put the veggies on top and turn on the rice cooker

Hope you enjoy! 1. Rinse rice, then soak for 30 minutes. (After 30 minutes of rice soak, drain the rice and set aside.) 2. While rice is soaking, chop veggies, potatoes, protein into small uniform pieces. 3. With oil in a pan, sauté protein on medium high heat until slightly browned. 4. Add the vegetables, Stir to coat all ingredients. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. 5. Add spices, soy sauces, and oyster sauce. Stir to coat evenly. 6. Add 1 cup of water to the pan and bring to boil. As soon as the water is boiling, turn off the heat. 7. Transfer mixture to your rice cooker or instant pot. Add garlic slices. 8. Add your rice to the appliance. Try to form a layer of rice on top of the meat mixture. 9. Optional - form small divots in the rice layer for the eggs. Crack eggs on top of the rice, in the divots you formed. 10. Using your appropriate appliance, cook ~ 10-14 min. (I used the “rice” button on my instant pot. She talk like shes explaining how to cook to a half-asleep baby in her arms. If i watch this at 12 pm i'll probably drop the phone on my face out of sleepyness. Good content!
Edit : Didn't expect so many people agreed they could drop their phone watching this too before, lmao. Thanks guys!
That’s why I watched it at 3 am B)
@「 αvríl 」 Lol same here
happen to be watching now at 3am.
But 12 pm is midday though
@「 αvríl 」 I kept missing the second "to"
I made this in the instant pot and it turned out really good! Here are the measurements I used:
1 1/2 cups rice
1 1/2 cups water
1 large potato
1 large portobello mushroom
~1 cup of carrots
~1/3 pound of smoked sausage
2 cloves garlic
1 1/2 tbsp oil
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3-4 eggs
The only changes I made were to sauté the garlic with the vegetables and also I didn’t boil the water with the vegetables, I just added it in with the rice.
How long did you cook it in the instant pot and at what setting?
Thank you for this! Did you soak the rice for 30 minutes while cooking the veggies? And if so, does that mean the one and a half cups of water was after you drained the soaked rice?
@@melaniecherish 10 minutes on high pressure, and then quick release (you could probably just use the rice setting, too)
@@kittymachine3798 you're welcome! Yes, I did soak the rice for 30 minutes, and I drained the water before adding it to the pot. At that point, I added a separate 1 1/2 cups of water. Does that make sense?
@@SpecialBrunetteChick so why addwater again after soaking when there is water from the mixed ingredients?
Everyone : talking about the cooking and everything
Me: where did she get such big a piece piece of carrot from
The supermarket?
Asian carrots look like that.
I get carrots like that at my local Seabra (pronounced se-abra) market! It is a market that specializes in Brazilian brands as we have a lot of Brazilians here.
You can get these at Asian markets! The fatter the carrot, the sweeter it is!
from Pekora, probably.
“Children love it”
Westerners in their mid 30s: “ah, I’ll love it then”
I feel like I'm being called out and I'm only 23
Wont lie it does look kinda tasty. But the opinions of streetshitters as to the mind set of an adult "westerner" is irrelevant Thank you for displaying the intelligence of your people. Im definitely trying this though.
@@rubreh6638 lol chill out you ivory tower douche. It’s a joke. Saying that kids will love it is pretty irrelevant. If it’s tasty and “kids” like it, then everyone will probably like it.

This looks delicious but is there any way to make it without a rice cooker (or any timed cooking appliance)? I only have pots and pans...
i live in germany and I am flabbergasted over these enormous carrots.
I don't think Ive ever seen them like that here in the US either

So tempting! It's great to eat this dish in winter!
She actually says that exact thing at 3:40 though it’s not translated lol
Did you cook it? If in America, what sausage would you recommend?
The only way that i know to cook is to wash the rice, pour out dirty water, repeat til water is clear, measure with the first line of your finger and then proceed to cook rice
Yessir.
