I decided to be a psycho and am doing my impossible run and plasma cutter only run at the same time, and a benefit I'm finding is that I almost never have to worry about ammo as its the only ammo that drops. Another, I only have 2 things to divvy up my power nodes between, so stuff upgrades much quicker.
How's that psycho ? I used only plastma cutter on my impossible run today, I already had the trophy, as I did it on my first playthrough. Honestly though, plastma cutter is all you need, the rest is just a bonus. Well obviously you also use loads of kinesis to save ammo, rip off them limbs and glue enemies to the wall 😆
Line gun traps on an object if you’re able to prep for scripted fights is also extremely useful. The damage from the line gun trap is honestly absurd when paired with kinesis.
On the other hand, accidentally landing a line gun trap on an enemy is terrifying as you realize that now the necromorph looks like he's shooting laser out of eyes
Be extremely careful when saving. Make sure to wait for a bit to ensure there are NO ENEMIES. One of my save files is in a death loop cause it gets killed by a twitcher the moment the screen loads in.
Yes. You gotta have it for that alone. For some reason they made those things way harder to kill than the original. The flame wall takes care of it immediately
If you don't mind being a little underhanded, there's a trick you can do with the pulse rifle to get a massive amount of credits which will allow you to spend your entire run swimming in ammo and healing items. Basically, use its secondary fire to put its ammo in your inventory, put a node in capacity to refill it's ammo, repeat until you use up all of the capacity slots, sell the pulse ammo which should give you more than enough to reset the pulse rifle nodes, and just rinse and repeat until you have enough. Good way to save a run if RNG is being particularly cruel with item drops.
I tried this method out on a medium play through and found doing this caused a ridiculous amount of necromorphs to spawn. Did you notice this when doing it ?
I could probably have done the impossible mode day 1 since I died very little in hard mode and it was basically just to the medical area where you have to turn the light off, some of the tentacles because I tried using a flamer, and once to the leviathan. Should be easy by focusing mainly on the plasma cutter and armor, with either the force gun for the gravity well or flamethrower for the firewall+stasis
Honestly was way easier than I thought it’d be, my lone death on my initial play through on hard was getting hit by one of the big fans towards the end in zero g
I did impossible on my first ever play through of Dead space 1 it was one hell of a ride but I managed to not die somehow, got super close in the boss fight against the Leviathan tho

First time for me too. Its kinda like a Resident evil game so I approached it like that play the game on hard not impossible get a feel for the game, theres alot of them tentacle situation not all the same but does insta kill you.
If ur going for platinum after first play through do the gm on story and only use plasma cutter for the trophy, then 3rd play through u should have alot of tools to use with two play through of loot, id max out cutter and armor first before impossible run seems logical to me thats how im doing it
I mean this in the best way possible, you gotta conserve ammo. The game just tells you to hack off limbs but as far shooting goes you can spam whatever you’re using now; it will work in the moment but if you didn’t manage it properly you’re screwed at later stages. Try to use a triangle of stasis, shoot the limb and use kinesis on the hacked limb. Use kinesis, can’t stress it enough. You can grab explosives, limbs, barricades etc. if you feel like you’re being surrounded use a crowd control gun like the alternate fire pulse rifle or line gun.

I run the ripper as my main force gun to horde ammo and sell and line gun for the triple laser trap attached to a box and carry it you clear everything no diff even brutes

Don't buy stuff from the store until near the end of the game. The game gives you health packs when you don't have much life left (but of course you should buy some if you're really really low). Open the inventory and manually use the small healing kits instead of doing the automatic healing, it could ruin a medium kit if you have one. Use kinesis as much as possible to kill enemies. Until chapter 9 it's fine but after that the necromorphs become very resistant.
Make sure to go into each security clearance room and clean them out they usually have semicondunctors that sell for quite a bit. Buying the suits is important so you can take more hits.
How to access the contents earned by clearing impossible mode? I beat it and have the achievement, but when I enter the game I don't have the "bang-bang" glove and black armor.
This is very helpful. Happens to me during the first meeting with the hunter😵💫 I got overwhelmed by so manny necromorphs and I died. I quickly rushed to the main menu and it worked. Hope this is not getting patched

Well I've tested it, doesn't work. You die and quickly quit it loads in on hard. Clever devs! Goba try quiting just before dying to see if that works though

the rewards to reaching the end of the side mission storylines is worth it. I don't want to spoil the reward, but as long as you're weapons are upgraded, the ammo economy will generally be in your favor.
If u started on impossible mode and are going for platinum id do the side missions at end of game, when it says u wont be able to return if u continue go back do side missions so you dont have to do that next play through, if not going for plat id only get the master key card for the one side mission so u can get more loot befor you go to last chapter
No. The one save is meaning you cant have saves at different points so if you fuck up you can just load a previous save. So you HAVE to plan your route and item ussage. Its not 1 save period its one save SLOT, as in you have to overwritten the previous save each time you save. BUT if you die the game wipes the save file and its back to the beginning.

As I understand the save is not "gone" but the difficutly is back to hard mode on that save file. So essentially the save is only good for when you want to take a break playing😅
Easiest way is just to play on Hard from start to finish to hone your combat skill and to make note of the enviromental hazards. Just put in the hours, getting tips from youtube wont be helpful as much.

Well sometimes you gotta see what you're fighting for so you're not disappointed with the reward after the fact. As for the tips it's pretty straight forward. just use the plasma cutter and ripper. In the beginning. And when you get the force gun and contact beam just use those and get rid of the ripper. Upgrade your HP and keep upgrading the plasma cutter. Make sure you buy each new armor and do the side quests.

You need to support a company when they DO do somthing right. Otherwise they will never course correct. DS Remake is one of those times EA got things right, just like Fallen Order and Motives other game Star Wars Squadrons.

I use it to deal with those "wall creatures", just throw a trap on its face and it usually wave its tentacles and cut by the line.

@Brief Keef You can't save scrub. You have to plan out where you are going, what you are grabbing and when you are saving.

Yeah, it deletes your save If you die but you can choose to continue on hard. That save is mostly for taking a break.
