Because I go traveling in my jeep and that van would not make in several places. Van on open road, great. Off road and climbing, not so great.

Normally the B58 is a good reliable engine. Remember that some BMW parts are carried by Toyota such as the ones found in the Supra. However, I agree, I would like more power and/or better fuel economy, 15mpg on 32” tires and empty, is a scary place to start for an overlanding vehicle. 👍

@@patriotsleepercell4060 I agree, but if Toyota felt comfortable putting their brand and reputation on a B48 and B58 powered vehicle, I guess it means something to me. 🤗 i don’t know what the best engine would be, in Europe, they have a diesel option but the US emission systems kinda ruins that power plant. 😅 Which engine would you want in the INEOS?

👍 Trying to decide how to experience the outdoors is part of the fun. It’s a debatable topic, everyone has a different use and definition of camping, glamping, overlanding, van life, RVing, … Some people are full time living in their van, for others it’s just a holiday hobby. Some go to very remote places and others stay at established campsites with hookup. Sounds like you have something interesting to introduce, that’s awesome! 🙌🍻😊

It all depends on your purpose... If you're going camping to enjoy it I prefer the old fashioned way with tents etc.. But if I want to see remote place and travel the country def a van build out.

Don’t really need AC with a full ceiling pop top since hot air rises and escapes through the windows. But if you want AC with a Sportsmobile or Field Van pop top, I recommend something like Cruise N Comfort since it’s mounted below the van and you don’t have to cut into the fiberglass roof.

Thanks for watching! 👍 1. The earth anchor is a cheap small assurance and much easier than burying your spare. 2. The locker isn’t cheap but it does help climbing without the need for as much momentum and 4ETS. 3. The Atlas Transfer case is now available. It helps tremendously off road but you lose 4Hi open center (AWD) for snowy roads.

@@gearforexperiences When the treads are clogged, you don´t have any grip, you can also spray it inside the wheel-arc to prevent mud building up. ;-)

Sure! It’s a custom made Front Runner roof rack. I made it using the universal cab model, then shortened by 2” and added 8 plus nuts to bolt it to the roof. The tricky part is that the roof curves towards the front so you can’t add the usual rail tracks; fortunately Front Runner factory legs for the rack are adjustable to accommodate the curve. 👍

Thanks! Good question, do you live in Canada or Alaska? Unfortunately, no one is producing them because MB manual states that covers blocking the grill shouldn’t be used. Every once in a while, you see one on eBay made in china. My understanding is that the turbo intake is in front of the grill and apparently it also needs air flow when DPF is doing a regen. If you have a snorkel, then the turbo is a no-issue, but I wouldn’t entirely block it off. Some people temporarily created one out of cardboard for those few times when one needs to drive below -30 Celsius / -20 Fahrenheit. In Utah, near Park City, I’ve driven in -15 Fahrenheit many times without issues, no cover needed. 👍

Good question! 🤙 Because 2022 and prior the Sprinter had 2hi, 4hi, and 4Lo which made the Sprinter a 4x4 not just AWD. The full-time activated 4Lo combined with low torque of a Diesel engine and the Mercedes 4ETS traction control made this van the most off road capable from factory. The 2023+ Sprinter are only part-time AWD which makes them closer to the Ford but it still has low torque and 4ETS. As of today, I would either buy a used Sprinter 4x4 (2019-2022) or get a Ford Transit converted to a true 50:50 4x4 by Quadvan or Quigley. If you are going to get the AWD Sprinter, i highly recommend contacting Agile Offroad to get an ARB air locker installed.

The L-tracks seat quick release I have are from Unwin and I bought the pair from Titan DIY (www.titandiykits.com/products/seat-lockers-for-l-tracks). I don’t see the Unwin brand anymore but they have one called Braunability. 👍

No, you can fit up to 34” or 285/75-17 with no body spacers such as the Van Compass Stryker 2”. I only have the Agile Offroad RIP Kit, and some trimming of fender / wheel well. 👍

If you are referring to the dash, I used rivets, but you can also use thick and short screws with 3M double sided tape. I made mine a few years ago and it’s affordable, but now you can buy the NAVIDOK Ram mount for Sprinter which uses the cubbys to secure the track. Regarding the upper windshield mount, I riveted two ram ball to the plastic, which is removable, and I added a usb outlet for power. If you off road, to hold up to vibrations, the plastic requires the addition of two small screws at the top on each side, which goes through the retaining clips. I’ve had mine for 4 years, with extensive off road trail driving, and it holds well with my Garmin Overlander as well as my Weboost antenna. 👍
