How to Overland Iceland in a Defender, 4x4 truck or Van!

Here are some tips from our 10 day overland trip in Iceland in a Land Rover 4x4 Defender 90 Camper conversion. Whether you are in a 2wd van or a 4x4 truck, here are some tips:
1. Plan your established campgrounds around the paved Ring Road.
2. Hot baths are your friends to relax and shower.
3. Off road is in the center of the island. They are called F-roads and they require 4x4, preferably with high clearance due to the many water crossings.
3. Do a foodie tour prior to leaving Reykjavik.
4. Look for the many waterfalls.
5. Plan a hike at one of the glaciers.
6. Go see the icebergs at and around Diamond Beach.
7. Volcanic activities are also a must see.
8. Extra: have fun and go to The Beer Spa. ;-)
