I recognize those ASICS wrestling shoes anywhere. How do they feel as racing shoes with the high cut ankles?
hi quick question do I set my brakes to load cell brakes on iracing after installing this mod ?
Get the Simagic GT- Neo for an upgrade. The KS is not worthy of the base. 😊
Tf is wrong with you
I dodged a tactical nuke with this one, i was about to get this for my first pc build
, I have all😊
This is a great video! 😀
This is a great video!
Just got one as well thanks to you, great shout out for a budget way to get load cell brake experience
What wheelbase did you upgrade to, another Moza? I've been looking at the R5, but the load-cell in SRP pedals looks appealling (as does R9 for some additional force if I get bigger wheels). There's quite a price jump from R5 to R9+SRP though and I'm not sure if it's worth it.
@DanTup I got a VRS wheelbase after much research! I have another video on it. I think the main answer to your question will be whether you are racing at a desk, and if you plan to get a rig in the near term. If you just want to race at a desk then a more powerful base and a loadcell pedal set will cause you a headache anyway, so just get started with the cheaper stuff! If you want a rig in the near term then R12 + Loadcell will give you everything you need, but thats a lot of money! Its also not a bad time to look for used gear at good prices!
@@MichaelSmithRaces thanks, that one is probably out of my price range 😄 I'll check out the video though. I'm currently racing on a desk (with Logitech G920), I'm planning to get a rig with the change to either R5 or R9 (both because of pedal movement and the chair spinning 😄). The R5+perf kit is approx £487 and the R9+SR-P+ES wheel is approx £675 so I guess I'm trying to decide whether the load cell and the increase from 5 to 9nm is worth the ~£190 more. I think my biggest concern is that the G920 already has a rubber bung in the pedal, so the R5 pedals without kit I'm certain would feel _worse_ than the logitechs.. But I don't know if the perf kit will make up for that if I'll end up regretting not having the load cell. Used in an option, but I don't like the idea of not having a warranty for this kind of money.
If you get a rig, R9 with loadcell is 100% worth an extra £190 no question in my mind!
@@MichaelSmithRaces thanks, that's the conclusion I think I'm coming to (especially when the difference is a smaller percentage when you add the cost of the rig to the total 😄)
What monitors are you using?
Dell 27inch G2724D they have been very good.
I’m like you going back and forth I’m 182 cm 100 kg and have a pretty bad lower back issue I have trak racer rally seat very uncomfortable any recommendations??
@jeffdobell4821 sorry but you are quite a different size to me so I couldn't say! Perhaps start with the sparco lumbar cushion which attaches with velcro, they also do side bolsters aswell might be able to give you a little bit of releif on your lower back?
could you provide a link for the loadcell mod?
@rafis2008 alien-mods.com/shop/product/load-cell-kit-moza-srp-lite-compatible/
M R5 wheelbase definitely runs hot. It is a bit concerning. I am looking for solutions. I may consider drilling some holes and/or attaching a fan(s).
@odkdsjf yeah its quite easy to attach a little fan actually but here is a copy paste from another comment I made: I have learned a lot about this topic! I didn't bother with another video perhaps I should... It's 100% down to AIRFLOW around the Moza. The R5 can produce a lot of heat, and if there is no airflow it has no option but to throttle. This is why you get such varying opinions online, because it entirely depends on the type of environment its being used in, combined with the length of use, and the amount of torque being demanded. Most users will not be aware when the base throttles a little, so they incorrectly say it has never affected them, without looking at the log files. Since adjusting my base to radical and pointing a small fan towards it I did not have any further problems (I have upgraded now to VRS) so the overheating issue should not be a problem if you are willing to either attach a small PC fan to the Moza unit, or point a fan in your general direction. Hope that helps!
I've been on the fence about the Formula wheel for my R5 bundle because of the shipping costs and horrible things I've heard of Moza's delivery times, but it's back on the wishlist now lol
@SkillIssueRacingChannel it was not a big deal for me, but really wish I got it earlier I love this style of wheel so much! See if you can find a local distributor, works out much better!
Thanks for the rundown, I absolutely agree! PS. Amazing setup you have behind!
All the gear, no idea!
Any upgrades I missed? Which are you most interested in?
there is a Simpush 13-inch round wheel mod for the ES Wheel which is lighter than Moza's wheel. however the paddle shifter they provide is a stick-on and not the screw-in type which Moza's 12-inch provide
@Lenwanxin thanks for sharing, good to have more options, IDK if that offers anything over the Moza version? Looks a little cheap from my first impressions, but maybe thats the selling point if its much cheaper?
Thanks for your videos. Did you once again get the over heat issue with your MOZA?
@kanicova I have learned a lot about this topic! I didn't bother with another video perhaps I should but the comments on my last one got pretty fierce! So here it is: It's 100% down to AIRFLOW around the Moza. The R5 can produce a lot of heat, and if there is no airflow it has no option but to throttle. This is why you get such varying opinions online, because it entirely depends on the type of environment its being used in, combined with the length of use, and the amount of torque being demanded. @@MichaelSmithRaces Hi Michael! Super thanks for your reply and insights. At first, I was going to buy a Fanatec, but I heard about the problems the company is having at the moment, and to be honest, I'll just stay away from the brand for now. I really like your honest reviews, and it's your videos that got me to choose Moza. I have AC in my office/man cave LOL, so it should be alright then. I hope you continue creating your videos and take us along on your sim racing journey. Great to hear you have moved to VRS. Since I'm just starting, I'll go with Moza, and maybe in a couple of years (or sooner) I'll check out VRS. Thanks!
@kanicova very nice comment, thank you! Good luck with the racing, its brilliant fun!
In windows you can shut down the usb ports power while in standby mode. In bios you can turn off usb power while shut down.
@thump3r thanks yes I have tried everything and it wont turn off! Even my usb keyboard wont wake up the PC in standby, but it still lights up! My ascher wheel the lights turn off so I don't know, never sorted it!
I grabbed the GT Neo wheel I just find the moza looks too cheap
@tonygee3284 enjoy it! Its a good wheel for sure!
Hi, I'm facing an issue with the hall sensor itself on these pedals. Anyway i can resolve it?
@pranjalgupta8798 sorry no idea, contact Moza support!
I just got my r5 bundle 2 days back.. my oh my its day and night difference from my 6 years old g29!! The FFB is crazy.. I have to be super careful when especially when playing Dirt Rally! Else you could break your arms!!! And of course, who says expensive wheels dont improve your laptimes... they do!! In ACC I improved my laptimes on almost all tracks by .500 to almost a second!!! Loving this wheel!!! Great job Moza racing. Best $500 spent!!!
@Haunter_Vlogs thats awesome!
Can you explain how you calibrated it? I see videos of pit house with an extra brake setting(brake force factor, but I don't have it), but with the stiffer bump stop and the stiffer spring, the very little travel is making trail braking difficult, as just the tiniest input results in quite a bit of braking force. I imagine I'll get used to it, but I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong lol. Great video, btw.
@ihavealife002 yeah there are two parts, firstly do the actual calibration so you press start calibration, then press the pedal to the max. After that you can hit the pedal as hard as you want, and see where it shows up on the graph and adjust the graph to match what you want. If you did what I did and replaced the damper rubber with the plastic block it will be very short and hard, but in that case you just treat the hard part as the start then press as hard as you want. This is one major difference with a loadcell vs potentiometer as its HOW HARD YOU PRESS rather than how far you move the pedal that you want to program in!
Honestly, it's kind of disappointing that Moza chose to include the SR-P Lite pedals in the R5 Bundle. If they included the SR-P instead of the Lite, then the Moza R5 would be "perfect" for entry level dd bundle. However, I'm not saying that it's a bad option. It should still be a solid good option for beginners.
@chitose3146 I've got another video on the SRP Lite loadcell mod, works well!
I won't advise anyone to buy Moza things ever, they did not even try to RMA my broken R5 brake pedal correctly. It took them from April 30th to July 11th, 2024 to get me a working brake pedal again, and you know that the issue is a persistent issue/reoccurring error (in all their brake pedal models) they should have already fixed for all users. And if you are one of the lucky ones who had a good RMA service, think about those who have been left with next to no service from Moza (China)or their intermediaries (Rseat France/Germany (in my case the intermediary of Hardware Experts, the Netherlands)))and their retailers (in my case: Hardware experts, Lelystad, the Netherlands( Bram Nijs & Jorgo Rinu)). Never buy their products if you want to play it safe. This video proves this brake pedal circuitry is no rocket science by any means
@petermaardananders6803 thanks for sharing your experience. I had great support from Moza via gtomega here in the UK when I first got my bundle, but as you say its totally different depending on distributor / going via china etc! Its tough because they are obviously making these things cheap to reach a wider market, which is good, but the downside is its not as robust. I've got very robust kit now that I hope will last me a lifetime!
Bought this after watching this. I have the same seat and didn't need any tweaks. Thanks for posting and sharing!
@zazoodigital glad it helped! Thanks for commenting!
More people are beginning to get issues with Moza R series bases. Overheating issues. March batches with issues and people who had multiple faulty units. Found a few posts on reddit. Since Moza is a fairly new company. Only a few years old. Time will tell how long and durable these Moza products really are internally.
@personagoldy6003 yeah I just share my experiences to help others. I have now moved on from Moza but it was a good base overall for me to get into sim racing.
LOL I loved the slowmo in the end, gave me a big smile 😄 what a beautiful piece of kit you have here Michael, I wish you lots of fun with it! BTW I got my new wheelbase now as well. Gonna review it soon - what I can already tell about it is that I couldn't wish for more 😮
@CKSimRacing awesome to hear about the new wheelbase! Yes I think with this new wheel I am set for a good while (I hope!) its so nice to use.... except the QR!
WOW I LOVE THE PICTURE AND VIDEO COMPARISON
not.
0:38 you're skipping the point where cammus charges absolutely ridiculous shipping rates, $50+ USD, where you can get the logitech with free shipping. I'm not saying that the logitech is a better buy by any means, I just think cammus' shipping rates should be more well known, since if you pre-order one of their products you don't get to know the price of shipping until you've already spent money on the pre-order and wait to pay your balance.
@Kevin15673 thanks for sharing, I was really struggling with the price comparison due to differences globally, but here in the UK there are multiple distributors for both Cammus and Moza. I would always try to get it from an in country supplier if possible. If the shipping was not included in the pre order thats pretty shitty, and good to raise awareness of that so other people dont get caught out by it!
This is probably the only HONEST review about Moza products on the Internet.
Thank you @derekl190 although they did subsequently reach out to me and give me an affiliate code & some free products since making this review. Its a very problematic industry that I'm trying to figure out myself! Hope they review helped you!
Apparently the actual ES wheel of the r3 is xbox compatible (not the base) and plugging it in to a r5 will give you xbox compatibility kinda like how fanatec is doing it. Don't know exactly if it works though, I don't have a r3 wheel.
@Cabinet445 yeah I hope so! Will be great to see people using it. The reviews of R3 have all been a little underwhelming from my perspective in terms out real users
Hey! I forgot to ask. What do you use to prevent your pedals from sliding during more intense driving?
@chitose3146 normally I use a gt omega prime lite, a profile rig is really the best way to go, but when driving at my desk I put a box against the wall and stick the pedals infront of that!
@@MichaelSmithRaces thanks! Are you using loadcells or did you put loadcell mod to your pedals which you stick in front of a box? I'm asking because I'm about to buy Moza.
@chitose3146 you wont really be able to use a loadcell very well if its not mounted to something. You would atleast want a wheelstand I think if you were going to get loadcell pedals.
There's massive misinformation going around and absurd attacks on Fanatec. The DD Extreme works flawlessly with Gran lTurismo 7 and ACC and iRacing, that's why you see it everywhere, but deceptive comments online are out of control. The reality is others do not work with consoles and it's insane how easily repeat the misinformation.
@herlegz6969 not sure what you mean? I said look at Fanatec, logi etc if you want console?
brother you’re going on about nothing lol
Is it possible tobuy only the tray? I play on desk top and the tray would be beneficial
You would be looking at a wheelstand @TheConanwarrior all of the gtomega wheelstands look like they have a similar tray to this!

Dose the g29 wheel fit on the moza?
@samirrose513 no, unfortunately not! I have a few review videos for Moza on the channel where you can see how it works.
I intend to have my first wheel, which one do you think I should choose? I have looked at these 2 at the official dealer in my country, I got these 2 options: 1.moza r5 bundle 3 Pedals with break performance and wheelstand Total price 640$ 2.cammus c5 wheel with cammus lc100 and Full Sim Rig Total price 725$ Which option is more worth it? I have been hesitating for a long time, hope you can tell me your opinion.
@NakarinSupanich very interesting question, I would definitely spend money on an aluminium profile sim rig before anything else, dont get a wheelstand, so of those two options I would get the Cammus bundle for sure.
got a neo to compare to?
@philmarsden9594 unfortunately not, in the end I went to the Ascher Mclaren Artura Pro. Love it!
off topic but what track are you driving at 6:16 during the first test. I played it in iracing once and wanna drive it in acc but dont remember the name
Looks like Oulton Park maybe?
@Tincoco_ yep its Oulton Park, @warbi505 is right! One of my Favourites!
Great review and comparison! I currently have the R5 bundle with the ES wheel and am considering the KS as my next upgrade. The rotary dials, magnetic shifters, better shift lights, and GT shape are very appealing to me. Is the change in FFB really *that* noticeable? The ES and R5 5.5 NM FFB is enough to rattle my desk and everything on it, which disturbs my housemates. I’m curious if the more dampened effect of the KS due to its size would help reduce this. Also, how much nicer are the buttons and materials on the KS? It’s definitely an upgrade I’d like to make, but I just want to make sure I can justify it for myself :)
@kylemillsy yes your use case is a very good one. If you are racing on a desk then getting a more powerful wheelbase wont help you at all, you will feel its a bit weaker, but you get used to it. The quality difference is very significant. Its feels great next to the ES. You wont regret it, but I warn you that you will then be considering getting off your desk and getting a rid so you can get an R12 :D
How much does width impact your driving? The Sparco Evo in M is slightly larger than my actual waist size which is what I’m looking for but I’m not certain how different the L and XL versions will feel
@NandoLorris4 I would say it feels nicer the tighter it is, but it would feel significantly worse if it was too tight vs too wide. I also have the sparco lumber cushion which you can velcro on and it makes it hug a bit more. Make sure you check shoulder width rather than waist width, that would be the worst case if your shoulders are crushed in!
What wheelbase mount in that?
@Felipetyflop gtomega prime lite, I have some videos on it
can use c5+lc100 on wheelstand ? i play g29 with wheelstand and i want upgrade to c5+lc100 but i don't sure it can use on wheelstand
@abcdefg6970 you will be able to if you attach your chair to the wheelstand or use some stoppers to keep the chair from rolling away! Some wheelstands have an optional bit you can attach to the front that your chair wheels can slot into!
I'm using my Cammus C5 on my old wheel stand pro that I had my G27 on. I didn't buy the desk clamp, so I drilled holes in the stand. If you have a shifter mounted to it, it's ideal to have the clamp just to keep the angle closer to the Logitech. I'm just working with an awkwardly tilted shifter as it's not intended to be my long term solution. The wheel stand is sufficient for normal driving with the C5, but I've occasionally had it rock a bit if I wreck or something. Not perfect, but worth upgrading. I'm still using the G27 pedals. No idea how well it would handle a load cell setup.
Whaaaaaat?? Several UK companies are advertising the Moza R5 bundle at £459.00 but when you go to buy you are told that extra duty/shipping is payable. Paypal told me at checkout on one website 'The merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment. There may be additional fees like shipping or tax. You agree to pay up to £528.00 GBP. You’ll see the final amount when you return to the merchant.' I assume this means 'after you have paid'. WTAF??? What shipping charges have UK folks been paying?
@flugelberger that sounds very strange, I know that Abruzzi and GTOmega are good and reputable in the UK. No experience with other vendors but in the UK im fairly sure they can't not add VAT, so it sounds like a non uk company that will ship to the UK...
Man, i wish I could make choices lol. I own a TS-PC Racer (Belt driven 6.2nm) which is at the end of its live. Im not a hardcore simracer, just a deskracer like you haha, so I'm looking into upgrading to a Direct drive. Debating between a fanatec CSL DD and the Moza R5 or R9. Moza R5 and CSL DD are bundle choices which are cheaper. R9 in combination with the KS wheel is just amazing, but 200euro more. Man I wish i knew what to get lol, i feel like the 5nm is not enough, thats why the CSL DD is amazing, just change powersupply and you're on 8nm.
@Nickinatorz for a desk setup the R9 is probably as high as you can go in terms of torque. I am personally not a fan of fanatec so im bias but the R9 + KS is a really great combo as the KS is miles better than the ES. I have a review of the KS vs ES that might help with your decision!
Hey bud, where did you get that plastic insert from?
@waynemcmurray8405 Its the base plastic part of the performance mod that you unscrew and remove to add the loadcell.
Thanks for the reply, I mean the plastic part you used to replace the rubber.
@waynemcmurray8405 yeah its the bit at the bottom of the performance kit, which you can then use with the loadcell also.
How are the pedals in comparison? I have the C5 bundle but i use my old G29 pedals because they feel better imo. The C5 brakepedal feels like a clutch pedal.
@sebant01 I didnt bother getting the pedals to test, sorry, but that was because any pedals sat on the floor without a good resistance on the brake are not going to be great in my opinion. Best off working out how to mount pedals if you want to get a better brake feel
