  • The one small problem with the GT Omega Prime Lite I have had is that the seat base does not tilt. Luckily as its so adjustable, I was able to fit a Trak Racer Universal Seat Bracket!
    News at the end of the video is unrelated, but sods law none the less!

      I'm thinking of doing the same for my Apex seat frame. How did the holes line up? Also, can out still use the mounts for office chairs?

    • @bobboberino8923
      @bobboberino8923 Год назад

      @@mc3dprints looks like the apex has the same seat raiser parts as the art, that lift the seat off the bottom part of the frame, I removed those parts and mounted the universal seat bracket to the base of the frame, then mounted the seat with the adjustable runners on top. The brackets pretty adjustable with screw slot holes so you can move the seat forward and back. The rs9 seat has runners in it and they’re fine, the trak racer universal bracket page has dimensions of seat that it’s compatible with, so if your seat has screw holes within those you should be fine.

    Agreed on the seat base of the RS12 being way too flat. I had the RS6 previously and only had to use the Trak Racer seat brackets as a riser to sit higher relative to my TV, because the base had some angle to it. Once I switched to the RS12 I had to use the tilt function on them so I'm glad I already had them haha

    • @MichaelSmithRaces

      interesting that the RS6 had a bit more angle to it... wonder why that changed? Funny you found this video when you already have the bracket :)

      @@MichaelSmithRaces Yeah not a combo many people have haha. I'm guessing the RS12 was designed as an office chair first and then they just removed the armrests and threw seat sliders on it and called it a day.

    • @MichaelSmithRaces
      @MichaelSmithRaces  6 месяцев назад

      @VerboseToast I needed to add a few washers between the seat slider rail and the seat brackets because otherwise the seat slider wont release as when you lift the handle it needs a couple of mm clearance. That could be specific to my version depending on tolerances.

    Hi Michael! First of all, thank you for your videos on the Prime Lite! I'm thinking about ordering it and it's a huge help hearing your thoughts about it.
    So I was also thinking about buying that Trak Racer Bracket to reuse my old DXRacer office chair in the rig (while waiting to order the RS12). I guess the "problem" that I'll have is that I won't have the slider, right?
    And without the slider, do you think I'll still be able to adjust the seat forward/backward (by bolting and unbolting it)?

    • @MichaelSmithRaces
      @MichaelSmithRaces  8 месяцев назад

      @PeterBee911 yes you will be able to move it forward and backward and re-bolt it. TBH I would skip the RS12 unless you are on a very tight budget, I should do a video on it. Its fine especially if you get it for cheap with the rig, but I would not choose it I dont think...

    • @PeterBee911

      @@MichaelSmithRaces Thank you for your answer! Well, I can get the RS12 for 255 € and I was leaning toward it since it can be ordered with a soft fabric material. And what did you exactly do to make it work, went a bit fast.

    • @MichaelSmithRaces
      @MichaelSmithRaces  Год назад

      Did you give it a try? The issue was that I initially mounted it with the variable width rail attached to the seat, this meant that it was closer together in the end that the seat slider handle would fit within. I flipped it over the otherway up, and conveniently then it was the right width! One side has horizontal lines to allow lots of different mounting widths and the other doesn't.

      @Waemdk, tell me more! You mean you took the actual seat apart?

    • @WaemYt
      @WaemYt 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@MichaelSmithRacesThere are 10 mm high metal spacers between the seat on the seat rails.
      i took out the 2 spacers in the back and put them on top of the exiting spacers in the front of seat. That gave me 10mm lift in the front and lowered the back by 10mm.
      and yes you need 10mm longer bolts in the front and shorter bolts in the back.
      That tilt is perfect for me.

    • @MichaelSmithRaces
      @MichaelSmithRaces  10 месяцев назад

      If you see at 59 seconds in, when I push the release down, mine goes slightly over the black bar. Check that on yours, as it might be flush. I just put the washers on that black bar whel bolting it down to raise it a couple of mm so that the silver metal can extend all the way down, otherwise it will not release the chair rails. At 1:08 you can see the washers installed in the middle.
