I'm currently building a TR160 with a pile of accessories, it's really tiring and fun at the same time and makes your dead brain healthy 😂

Ordered a 4080 rig Friday, july5th. Arrived well-packaged in pristine condition around 1:30 the afternoon of the 8th. This kit has more than enough quality hardware included too. My only complaint about this kit so far is the instructions are only available as downloadable files online so until I got my kid to print them off for me at her house, I was trying to use them from my phone (hint: not worth trying, lol). Anyways, the build is going great, just about to mount the wheel deck. Oh yeah, this kit that cost me $679ish including shipping, shifter mount, single monitor mount and arrived in under 72 hours is a RigMetal. Idk about trakRacers but this kit is pretty nice..

I'm dreaming of buying one of these beasts but the the price is massive but not something I wouldn't pay my only wish is that trak racer move towards selling individual frame components individually so people like me that are on a budget can still build one over time rather than a singular sale but this could also act as a spare parts sale additional service to the benefit of selling quality frames and sending out more sales in build bit by bit buyers 😊

The pedal plate does have a right way up! Theyre countersunk drilled on the top, so the flat bolts that are sort of 'Y' shaped, the head of the bolt sits in them nice and flush. Wrong way round they'd stick up.

@@player1simgear ah I get ya haha I did get stuck on that bit too and lined up the 'letter P' shaped holes with the image in the manual but it doesn't look like either way really matters. I think I used it up the way that meant I could use the indented line as a heel stop! Haha

Nice video Neil, appreciate the informative and detailed build. Have narrowed my rig purchase to Track Racer and now, trying to decide between the 120 or the 160... Honestly, think either will be fine - just don't want to look back in a year or two and think, "man, wished I would have spent a little more for that..." kinda thing. I think even the TR80 would probably be fine, but when you start picking things, each one is "not that much more"... Lol : ).
I will say though, I think you have the seat 'brackets' on backwards... maybe that was intentional for your application - but all the rigs on the Trak Racer site have them the other way around... just an observation.

    • @player1simgear
      @player1simgear  5 месяцев назад +1

Yeah tbh both the 120 and the 160 are awesome. I am sure you'll be fine with the 120, unless you're a really big guy, or going for a motion rig.

Hello Player 1 Sim Gear, this rig doesn't show the same aluminum profle as what is shown on the website..
Trak Racer TR160s shows the bottom side pices wih no middle rails just like the steering colums seen in your vid..... Did they change the design?

Thanks for checking out our r
Vid! You're absolutely right, good spotting! The TR160S does have the smooth profile on the base frame with only 2 t slots, we flipped those profile sections around and put the smooth side on the inside, as we are attaching motion actuators to this rig and we needed the 4 t slots for mounting them. Fortunately the rails have the option for the 4 slots on the other side for use cases like ours. It's very cool.

Basically I've got $2500 dollars of stuff in my cart but I can't buy because no one will tell me whats in stock and what isn't... I don't want to buy somethign only to find out later that the website was wrong....
They got back to me once after 3 weeks only to say the G5's and platform were out of stock and they were trying to get more...
But honestly, I'm probably going sim lab and will source the G5's from another vendor
IF I could buy everything from Trak Racer, I would but the lack of response isn't giving me a good feeling

I have a lot of gear I'd like to buy but I only recieved one response over a 3 week period... I have no faith the website is accurate and unless I can speak to a human, I'll proabably just go with Sim Lab... Aside from the G5 actuators, everything is in stock and will ship.
I'd buy everything from Track Racer if they would just communicate better....

They have had issues, like any business, I bought a TR160 from them during early covid. It was hectic as the volume of emails was beyond them. I waited over 4 months but in the end patience paid off. I think they are a great team working hard out. But hey that's me, don't judge another until you walk a mile in Hid shoes ! 👍
