This is Part 2 of a two part video series of my trip down to Lone Pine, California for @395jnky Overlanding for Warriors event. Part 2 features the full four day event and includes a trail ride into Death Valley National Park, as well as flyfishing, cooking some great food and hanging out with good friends. I discovered that spot this summer. I'd intended to stay at the Bighorn Campground but didn't know it had a fee. I set off looking for another spot to camp and found this site. It was the perfect camp site!

I should not have to say this but it seems like you always get someone to chime in. Drones were only used on BLM at the beginning of the trail ride, not in Death Valley National Park. I'm in the process of replicating this - this is what I was on the hunt for - thank you! I was looking at your parts list, but I did not see the square connector that you have 3M to the side of the awning bracket listed?? Or does that come with the 12v plug kit?
I’m pretty sure it comes with the 12V plug. Also I have not needed the zip ties, still going strong after many years! 🙌

Thanks for watching! I'm not really comfortable sharing precise locations, but I can tell you the area can be found with a Google Earth search.
That looked fun. Curious if you have recommendations for a portable compressor?
David that’s a really good question. My main go to is my Power Tank. The downside with that is you don’t always know how much air you have left unless I pull it out of my rig and weigh it - which I am too lazy to do. Therefore, I have been carrying for a long time a Viair 40045 which is fairly compact as a backup. Which means I am always carrying two air up options which I am not happy about. I may install an ARB soon. So if you want compact the Viair is good. If you have space ARB makes a portable compressor that fits in a carrying case. It’s very good! If you want another option my friend has the new Thor Lightning air compressor which is well built and fast!
@@flyfisher530 Thanks so much, that's helpful. I was looking at the Viair 40043 but I guess I should figure out what the difference is between that and the 40045 you have. You also gave me to other options to look at with the ARB and Thor Lightning.
Looks like the 40043 can only be run for 15min at a time so I'm thinking the extra bit of size and cost would still make the 40045 worthwhile

Was there a sign at Alabama hills camp site about no camp fires?
Did not see any, and no fire restrictions per BLM California Wildfire Dashboard Interactive Map for that particular camp spot. But if you know something different feel free to chime in! Generally it applies to wood campfires, not propane. Thanks for watching!

How come you changed from the Xventures diesel heater? Any issues with it?
@@malmrup No issues! I just had an opportunity to try something new and honestly, I do like the inside fuel tank versus the outside fuel tank. Much more stable. Thanks for watching!
OK. Thanks. My Xventure is a pain. The fan is constantly getting stuck. Seems the heater is fitted too tight so I actually bought the Hcalory yesterday 😀
Man I’m sorry to hear that. I used my XV quite a bit and it always ran fine. Maybe I was due for a problem soon? 🤷♂️
The Bead Grip tech works great. I've been at 5lbs in the snow last season and about 8 on the rocks on the Rubicon this summer. No issues!
