So weird?!? Somehow I was sure I had commented already - but it’s not showing up? What a GREAT trip as always with you Mike! And what a bucket list hanging out with the crew on the way back! Let’s get out again soon!
I fished the Owens 2 weeks ago. Caught two small browns. The water is too cow-poopy for my taste. I then hit the Truckee near Hirschdale Rd for two days. One good hit that broke my 4x tippet. Much cleaner water. I've fished every river from the Stanislaus North to the Williamette in OR,. You ever need a partner, I just retired from teaching. I have a 4 x 4, a kayak, and some good micro-brews. I'm in NorCal. Blessings.
Yeah, after talking to a lot lot of people while I was working, those kakadu showers in the premium campsite area they said that this year it was worse than the previous years with the way they handled the event. Not enough bathrooms to accommodate all the people in the premium area. The general camping area seem to have enough bathrooms. The way they had you check in was kind of like it was just put together. I know I had to figure it out since it was my first time up there to see where I had to go. Expo West they sent me an email with detailed instructions on how to enter, the camping areas but PNW just kind of left it up in the air. The camping spots they were trying to put everybody in real tight and supposedly the premium areas people were complaining that they didn’t give them the 20 foot space for their area and in the end there were so much vacant space to be used that people ended up moving their vehicles over so that they can accommodate their camping area. But being there for the first time, I absolutely love the drive and also meeting you and all the other Overland community. I just love how everybody is so friendly. We did have somebody that stole our two showers that is absolutely unheard of in this community, but I’m sure it was somebody that just came for the day and left. Being that we’re so close can’t wait to get out and explore with you more. I also agree that being up north of Susanville area needs to be explored more. especially with all the lava flows and caves and waterfalls in that area. On our way up, we stopped by Bernie Falls area and was blown away by not only the waterfall but how beautiful being in the forest area was.
@@OverlandingOurWay Sorry to hear about the showers being stolen and it seems PNW still needs to do better at its organization for the event 🤦♂️. I’m glad you mentioned Burney Falls because that is a hidden gem that does not get talked about a lot. So beautiful! Thanks for leaving a comment and watching the video! 🙏
