In the books, even Dumbledore can’t apparate out of Hogwarts, him and Harry have to walk all the way to the Hog’s Head in Hogsmeade before they are able to apparate to the rock near the cave. The only way to apparate into Hogwarts is by being a house elf.

Let's be completely fair. Wizards and witches have magic capable of rewriting reality on a concentual level to their whim ever since they hit eleven. (Which, basically constitutes to a child wielding rpg7 with unlimited ammo, but that's besides the point). So they could, can and would make changes. Blow something up every once a while, make their teacher have a stroke or two.. dozens... Teachers could expand and change... So, for a decade school may change quite a bit.

Yea the game is good (IMO), and I think they changed the rules of Quidditch a bit to make it more accessible and balanced for multiplayer, especially the snitch, but I love the game. I do prefer playing the game in a party with friends because the online games get really competitive and intense and it makes for a lot of fun moments. The campaign is fun, but once you fully understand each position, the game gets really easy against NPCs even on the hardest difficulty. The game is slowly dying unfortunately but I am hoping that it will get some traction again when some of the special events that the developers have planned get released, or when 6v6 multiplayer get released (it's on the developer roadmap for 2024).

They nerfed the snitch and took it from one of the most important parts of the game to make it pretty much pointless.

The game is hard to play, but after you start learning, it becomes very entertaining. It needs more content, but the gameplay is awesome.

I think it’s impressive how the gameplay is less fun and engaging than the other quidditch single player game that came out 21 years ago. The flying in that one was better, the teams were more interesting. Oh well, if that one could just be remade I would be a lot more excited. I totally understand why you tried this one out though.

The womping willow never made sense inside the castle walls. It’s a dangerous tree that could easily harm someone. Students would be walking past it all day!

Have you played the Harry Potter video games? I bet you have. I played the PC versions and especially the first four games have a given Hogwarts a totally different architecture than the films did and only from Order of the Phoenix onwards do they use the set designs (sometimes to absurd degrees like the Gryffindor common rooms only had one dormitory because the sets on had one or the library being far too small).

6:08 I mean, just look at Mad Max: Fury Road! That film uses orange for the day scenes and blue for the night scenes, which makes sense in a post-apocalyptic desert world setting where the days would be scorching hot and the nights very cold.

I do think the viaduct in Deathly Hallows makes sense though because how else would the carriages that take the students from the tran station to the castle get to Hogwarts with the layout of the earlier movies. There is a reason why, in the third film, they don't show how they arrive at the school, only how they are on the way to the school, because they hadn't thought about that yet. And in the books, it is explicitely mentioned that the carriages park in front of the entrance hall. We even see that in the movie version of Goblet of Fire where an entire deleted scene takes place around the carriages in the entrance courtyard. Harry goes there for a bit of fresh air during the Yule Ball and first is surprised by a couple kissing (and possibly more) in one of the carriages and then hiding from Snape and Karkaroff as Snape inspects the carriages for such students.

It was bad enough that the films didn't have the grounds with the perfect path that led from the winged boar gates to the entrance hall doors but then they added that horrible courtyard and bridge to nowhere 😂😂

Hi! Would you ever make a video on the changes of the Quidditch Pitch throughout the films? With the new Quidditch Champions game coming out and having tweaked the pitch for the game. I am curious for your thoughts and opinions :)

For me the game representation is so much better because i can experience it myself. It is also acceptable if there are some differences between movie and the game because they were supposed to be separated by a century and with magic supposedly they can decorate it easily

The entrance location for Gryffindor room is also different in movie and the game. In the movie it was located straight next to the moving stairs while in the game it was located in corner of some hall. And also seemingly ravenclaw room location is also different in movie and game. There is a scene in first movie where the first year students are guided to their room and it show the Gryffindor and ravenclaw students in the moving stairs area. It showed that the ravenclaw student went downstairs while in the game ravenclaw room location is in the highest level among all houses

I dislike the Legacy exterior, and much prefer the Half Blood Prince version.

The major changes between CoS and PoA kinda pissed me off. The original design is the closest I pictured from the American cover of the philospher's stone book.

The first two films are by far my favorites, especially the chamber of secrets. Whenever I read the books I imagine it like how those films looked.

They are going to make a television series. They will have all of the books available to them from the beginning, so they should be able to design a model that has everything.

So they made the common rooms bigger but still both Hufflepuff and Slytherin don't have bathrooms and in Gryffindor only the girls have bathrooms. Also the hut you showed wasn't Hagrids hut but the beast classroom and that cave was a completely new room for the game.

The only reason I don't mind the bridge is because you get a really nice view of Hogwarts and the surrounding areas from it. In Hogwarts Legacy, I can't help thinking if only there was a bridge there lol.

We are building a larger LEGO Hogwarts, your videos on the architecture are very helpful. I I think you are very right with the color scheme aspect. Some scenes are also very dark, others are empty (little decorations and less students). The idea of having Hogwarts as the „one thing to fight“ for makes a lot of sense for me. 👍

if they have to scrimp and save by not having a castle for the new show, then the budget for the production is weird.

I loved your video. I just want to mention the place you called as "Hagrid's hut" is actually the Care of Magical Creatures Class Hut. The groundkeeper one is going down south to Lower Hogsfield, passing throught the clock tower courtyard bridge :)

The only thing I HATE from the game is the Great Hall, by FAR my favorite part of Hogwarts and the movie version is very very dear to my heart, I personally don't care about the positioning of the giant hourglasses, I like how both do them, but the game seems to be too wide and to short, I mainly believe it's because of the much shorter house tables, the overly wide empty space between the tables and the door and the longer distance between the tables and the fireplace, I'm not a big fan of the professor table design either but considering the time period it's okay, aside from that I REALLY wished the Grand Staircase was a better mix between the game and the movies, I LOVE the movie version but I understand it makes more sense to be a round space rather than squared considered the tower that it's in, but the excessive amount of portraits and the way the stairs shifted are miles better than the game, it's feels too bland and loses a lot of the desorienting almost maze like charm the movie version has, which is my main the reason to be my second favorite part of the castle, it's what makes it so iconic and unique Imo, aside from that (and maaaybe the flying class area too lol) I have no notes for the rest of the castle, amazing job, hopefully they make more games in the future and slightly modernize some areas so it resembles even more what we as fans got use to but still keeping a lot of what we already have from this first game!

It always wound me up, even at the time that they changed both the viaduct and the grand staircase for the last film in the series. Though in defence of the Fantastic Beasts point you made, in the Snape's memory's sequence it's still the Hallowe castle despite that taking place long before Philosophers stone so we were always supposed to pretend it had always looked like that.

The tower you mentioned (1:34) is Ravenclaw Tower in the game.

Am I the only one really hoping for a whole new redesign? That's the whole point of a reboot for me, giving a new creator free reign to interpret the characters and settings as they imagined when reading the books. If they keep the castle the same, it's no longer a creative endeavour but just brand advancement (which, of course, is what it is for WB).

I remember that the "real" castle should had been even bigger then the one we saw in the movies cause originally in the books Hogwarts had more students then in the movies... for example the great hall should've been gigantic and both in the movies and the games the great hall is veeeery small..

it probably was canceled because of the VR room experience attraction in New York City. No reason to build a whole theme part ride for some kind of system or experience that will pop up over the globe and other places.
