Why are cambridge Bibles notorious for having this type of binding issue? I have gone through 2 cambridge Bibles with the same issue.

Thats a good one. This is the 2nd bible I owned. Got it Christmas of 2006. Went through it and learned a lot. Good deal for that price!

Thanks for sharing. I'm a big fan of the NKJV, just within the last couple of years, and have been a John Maxwell fan for at least a decade. I thought you were going to showcase the blue genuine leather NKJV single-column reference Bible, which was $40 and still is $40 on Amazon. I knew I was wrong when you mentioned "study Bible." I'm typically not a study Bible guy but I really like Maxwell so I figure I'll give it a try. The font is hopefully large enough for my eyes, which have seen too many birthdays, and it's a black letter text. Yay! I hope to sign up for your Patreon Bible rebinding course soon. Once I get my work area sorted out I'm going to start ripping some covers off!

This was the most confusing video ever. Lol. Saying the ESV and anything between the NKjV and the NLT and are unnecessary, and that you’re back to the NKjV, then why even bother promoting this ESV? Kinda weird 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do you actually teach Bible rebinding in person. I have always wanted to do this since I was a kid (now late 50’s and recently retired) and never even thought of this as a second career. This would be a dream come true.

Is the choice of leather dependent on the type of Bible that is rebound. For instance, I am looking to rebind an NIV Archaeological Study Bible, about 3” thick. I want this to be a forever rebind, but am not knowledgeable enough to know how to select the options. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I think both of your work is exquisite. I prefer yours because it has a more classic look. I am also not a fan of full yap. Both of you are incredible craftsmen.

Don’t use 80 Grit sand paper or a belt sander to prep the edges for inking… it won’t end well 😂

Thanks for this video. I have a 2001 wide margin ESV with a worn out true TruTone cover. I want to take a leather cover off of a new ESV premium bible I just purchased and put it on the old wide margin bible (cuz I have so many notes in the old bible). Do you have a video on swapping covers (discard TruTone and put on another bible's premium leather cover)? I don't want to make a mistake with the old Bible because the notes are irreplaceable. Thanks in advance.

I own a few $20-$25 dollar Bibles that I think are great. I also have a few premier Bibles that are mind blowing since I’ve always owned cheap Bibles. Have you used a Premier Collection Bible from Thomas Nelson? Wondering what you think of them since you’re a Bible rebinder

(I have made very very basic, simple handmade books with very basic knowledge and materials.) I recently purchased a ESV journaling study bible. The size of it is so different and i thought the hardback cover would be nice for me since i prefer hardback but now that i have it, i realized it's actually very "uncomfortable". I have been thinking about it for weeks.. i considered rebinding it into a different type of cover like a softback and i thought, why not? Your videos are really informative. Thank you!

I always thought the KJV was the TR and the NKJV was the MT (Majority Text)? Not so?

I think the English in the NKJV is clunky. I prefer the KJV and ESV.

When did you cut the liner (inner section, whats the process or length you use? great videos - I'm going to try to rebind some old family bibiles. You inspired me / Also can you use the same type of leather for the liner and the outer cover? Not sure on the liner part, everything else I've worked out logistically.

Man, this really takes skill. Thanks for putting this on RUclips. I went from looking into rebinding myself because of the cost, to the conclusion that a quality rebind should cost more than it does!
