I took Ozempic for 3 weeks due to some blood sugar issues. I had been steadily losing 2-3 lbs per week through diet and exercise. I took Ozempic and my weight loss completely stopped. I have POTS and it threw me into a 3-week long flare. I stopped taking it and I resumed the weight loss and my flares ended.

I started to lose weight again after regaining a bit and I was stunned when I resumed eating 4 large brown eggs and a banana for breakfast every day and it held me almost ALL DAY???….. it was like , life changing. I can’t believe I ever stopped eating this way. I felt full and energized ALL DAY. fat is NOT bad! The more butter I eat, the less I eat overall and the faster I lose fat. Also my skin looks amazing! I eat entirely Whole Foods now, like oats , butter , eggs , vegetables , fruits. Life changing.

Obesity is a disease. It’s not just poor diet or lack of exercise. People assume that when they see someone who is obese. Your body may make GLP-1 but it does not last long in the body. People with insulin resistance, prediabetes, diabetes 2 don’t produce enough GLP-1. Diet won’t cut it. Especially if you have been obese for a long period of time. The reality is that many need this medication to treat their disease. In 2013 the AMA categorized overweight/obesity as a disease. You body likes to maintain homeostasis making weight loss difficult. Not as easy as eating right and moving more. Diet, exercise and lifestyle changes are foundational. If you are older the odds are stacked against you. Overweight/obesity is a complex condition. If you encouraged medication to your client you would see better results. I’m sure you have had obese older clients that only last for so many visit until they give up. Study obesity, study the medications. People need a chance. This medication is a peptide that offers hope.

I would love your help if you have any insights for me. I turned 30 this year back in March. A few weeks before my birthday I got really sick with either the Flu or Covid. I was sick for about 2 weeks, and had a fever of 102 for 2 full days. As I started feeling better and started to eat again, I started getting horrible stomach pain, acid reflux, vomiting and diarrhea. I would eat dinner around 6pm, go to sleep around 10-11pm, and wake up at 1am having to puke and spend the next several hours awake constantly running to the bathroom to either vomit again or diarrhea. This happened about 6 times after I was sick. But every day, I was still having acid reflux and horrible stomach pain and bloating. My diet basically went down to like 600-800 calories of applesauce, a little oatmeal, and a few bites of chicken and rice. I also started taking Omeprazole to help with the acid reflux. In early May I saw a gastroenterologist because my symptoms were so bad, I couldn't eat anything, I had already lost about 10 pounds, and I was not feeling any better. I was starving and if I ate I would puke. Long story short, it took several months to get my endoscopy and colonoscopy because of my heart condition and insurance. I did those tests last month and got my results. I was diagnosed with GERD, Esophagitis, Gastritis, Diverticulosis, a form of IBS / IBD that I'm still waiting on the results from the MRI and MRE for, had pre-cancerous polyps removed, and also found out I have high liver enzymes and some form of NAFLD. I'm still on acid reducers for the GERD, I was given antibiotics to help with the stomach because I cannot tolerate or digest red meat, fiber, or vegetables without terrible bloating and pain. I'm now on day 2 of probiotics after coming off antibiotics. My diet everyday is still about the same. A packet of oatmeal for breakfast with a little natural peanut butter and a tiny bit of coffee. My lunch and dinner is usually bland, unseasoned chicken and white rice. I may take a few bites of other bland foods here and there but the stomach pains and bloating aren't worth it no matter how bad I'm craving things. I still don't have any answers, I still don't have a plan on when I'll be able to eat other foods, I still feel horrible, I still take acid reducers, still have to avoid fried, greasy, spicy, acidic, high formal foods and almost all seasonings, can't eat black pepper or bell peppers, onions, garlic, dairy, butter, oils. I'm probably missing a few things but you get the point. No clue what happened, no help or insight as to what's wrong, I was checked for celiac, crohns, sibo and parasites. I just don't know what to do. I think your GLP-1 diet is a good one for me, but I doubt I can handle the fish, cauliflower rice, ribeye etc. Sorry for the rant. If you have any ideas or tips id appreciate it.
