Very good advice! So many of my friends are losing weight on oxempic and it’s tempting but they are wrinkly now and have no muscle! I don’t want to sacrifice nice skin and muscle to be thin. Your advice is straight forward and encouraging! Definitely going to try the pillar approach thank you!

My friend back home started on Wegovy earlier this year, 2024, and I decided I would do it with lifestyle. So the drugs make people lose their appetite and feel full on smaller amounts of food, so I decided to make a protein shake with fiber for breakfast and for lunch, and have protein plus a vegetable for dinner. Fine with me as I am bored with shopping for, preparing, cleaning up, and thinking up meals 3X/day. I also wanted to have a real life that I would maintain indefinitely, not be on a diet. Sure enough, I did not have much appetite since my breakfasts and lunches had the fiber, and are boring. Also I am doing zero added sugar, which seriously reduced cravings. I also started walking an hour a day and lifting (light) weights 3 times a week. I should say, I am older. I also was taking Release, a Berberine-based supplement. I lost 20 lbs, then got a body composition scale (which I have every reason to believe is accurate) and saw that of my latest 9 lb weight loss, 2 lb were muscle. This is why people rebound: they lose muscle and their metabolism craters. So I upped my protein to 1 gram per pound of goal body weight. I stopped losing muscle, because I stopped losing weight. (For some reason, I had stopped taking the Release but I’m back on it as of yesterday). Maybe I am at a plateau, or maybe I need to exercise more. I am also graphing my weight loss by hand and am committed to weighing myself once a week forever, and if I ever do gain back any weight whatsoever, I will do what I have to do immediately to lose that first pound or two. I have already rebounded once and I refuse do it again. I have another 20 lb to go, but I feel so much better already and it’s gratifying when people I know tell me I look good (they mean healthy; they’re not looks-judgy). Good luck to you on your health journey! Protein, fiber, healthy (low) carbs, zero added sugar. Drink water! You can do it.

My friend nearly died after a few weeks on Wegovy. She had a bowel rupture and stomach paresis and got sepsis. She now wears a colostomy bag. She only needed to lose about 20 lbs!

I thought this video was awesome and so helpful. I have definitely thought about ozembic and have spoken to my
doctor about it and even had a prescription. I walk or ride bikes several times a week when I walk it’s 2 to 3 miles and when I ride a bike, it’s five or six I eat a generally healthy diet but when I snack, I snack a lot in a row at like three in the afternoon or if watching TV I probably have 50 pounds to lose. I don’t feel like I carry very much stress so given this information I’m not sure which area is my week link? I have a gym membership, but I have not gone to Lyft weights and I know I need to do that as I am 60 years old what is your recommendation as to where I start? I already eat a vegetable with every meal and I already exercise lightly three times a week, I’m a new subscriber as well so glad I found you. I love the way you break things down so concisely with pictures.

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I appreciate your clear and logical approach, and though it seems quite simple, some of the things you said gave me a sudden clarity on this lifelong struggle. The fact that stress management is a third and equal pillar makes tons of sense. I'm thrilled I found you. Here's hoping this almost-50, pre-diabetic, sedentary woman can utilize your approach and turn my health and quality of life around. I finally feel like I deserve it after all these years. Thank you.

Hi Sooz, I've just found your channel and I'm loving the content. I have about 30 kgs to lose (around 65 pounds) which is a lot. But I am appalled that doctors are prescribing Ozempic and similar drugs like candy, especially in the US and Cananda. The side effects seem scary. I am now trying a healthy lifestyle along with regular exercise. I take a mood stabiliser/anti depressant for my anxiety the side effect of which is weight gain (but I have previously lost weight while using this medication). I cannot cut out carbohydrates as they keep me really satiated, but what are your thoughts on intermittent fasting (i.e. skipping breakfast and just doing bigger lunch and dinner).

WOW, another home run in terms of video/ content. Like others have said, Im thrilled to have found you, and I really love your approach and style of problem solving.
I was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, with A1C o 5.6. My doctor suggested I loose 45 pounds, and started me on tirzepitide 2 weeks ago, in addition to a low dose thyroid drug ( I've had low thyroid for years, but tried to treat it by exercising more). I'm also moving to a keto type diet. Exercise is easy for me - I do resistance training 6 days a week and walk my dog twice a day every day. My stress levels were intense stratosphere, raising cortisol, which my doctor said is what the root cause of my issue is. What do you suggest for the stress management pillar?
