  • In this video I talk about the definition of metabolic syndrome which is bad fat storage. I also go into my own personal experience with metabolic syndrome and the dietary approach I use with clients who have metabolic syndrome.
    LOW activity macros for fat loss: 40% Protein, 50% fat, 10% Carbs
    MEDIUM to HIGH activity macros for fat loss: 40% protein, 30% fat, 30% carbs
    1. Multiply your weight (in LBS) by the activity level you fall under for daily calories. Use that calorie amount to calculate macronutrients.
    2. to Calculate Protein: Example 2000 calories, 2000 times .4 gives you 800, and then 800 divided by 4 gives you 200 so your daily goal of protein is200g
    3. Repeat for fat. 2000 times .3 equals 600. 600 divided by 9 gives you 66g.
    4. Repeat for carbs. 2000 times .3 equals 600. 600 divided by 4 equals 150g of carbs.
    Summary: 200g Protein, 66g Fat, 150g of Carbs. That is a balanced approach which is 40% Protein, 30% Fat and 30% Carbs. Great for a moderate to high activity lifestyle.
