Im not even remotely worried about rider capacity because i feel the reliability will make up for the longer ride time. Cedar point is the top dog for a reason. If they chose another company for the reimagined tt2, there is a reason. Ive watched quite a few coaster finatics with negative outlooks for this ride....... i will always argue this, if your truly a coaster lover, you are 100% excited about this. Im excited top thrill didnt get torn down. And yes its not the original and it never will be, but as a cedar point lover who makes the 6 hour hike every year, im so happy to see the tower still standing tall. And im excited to feel a 100mph reverse vertical spike for the 1st time. Again i know it wont feel like the 120mph take off on tt1, but itll be a whole new experience, with a new name of tt2 and finally that part of the park will be alive again. As a cedar point fan, look at this detail as well, now the wait time for other rides like maverick and steel vengeance should decrease. Its a win win.

capacity is only theoretical. reliability is the key. after seeing the media day reviews, people are saying that the reverse launch really slaps and that the airtime over the top hat is sublime

I honestly think zamperla is gonna knock this out of the park. They had months of testing and computer configuration compared to wild mouse that they was still working kinks out during opening season even Tony Clark said this is the first ride they had that that had 4 + months of testing before opening day. Ride capacity I see it simular as ttd. Gotta under stand these new trains are designed for quick loading and unloading and it seats what 2 more riders then dragster, plus as the train heads up the top hat most likely the next train is lining up for its launch and while third train is loading.

If it was redone by Intamin it wouldn't even be testing this early let alone having people riding it already. Just because Six Flags and CF are merging does not mean Intamin is going to be back. CF is going to be calling the shots for the new company.

And the merger didn't come into play simply because this project dates a minimum of 2 years back. The merger wasn't even announced until last fall

The original TTD numbers were inflated anyway. That's been shown by El Toro Ryan on multiple inamin rides

Standing on my hill forever...missed opportunities for small/medium airtime hills on the launch and brake run. That would've mad FIVE good to great airtime moments during the ride. Whether the ride is good or not, that would've made it GREATER THAN GREAT.

we should have been concerned when they announced this awful plan. swing launches are worse than a forceful normal launch 90% of the time and are a disaster for capacity, not to mention this swing launch with hardly any punch is just gonna be boring and pointless. and get ready for an extremely rough ride with those zamperla trains lol

The best part will be the drops and the backward thrust that pushes you up backwards up that hill. That is going to be really scary :) Rode the OG about 6 times in my life. The wait for this one is going to be the downfall.

I think if it had a longer rider wait time it would help direct attention away from other rides

My biggest concern is that the ride might be rough. They looked like they were being jostled around quite a bit in that POV. The front of the train seemed to shake quite a lot too. Will see though when I get to ride it.

I very worried about the capacity too because Top Thrill Dragster had 5 trains running on the track but Top Thrill 2 has only 3 train running on the track so that would reduce capacity by a long shot. I predicting that Top Thrill 2 will have like a hourly queue of 2 to 3 hours long when it opens up and a few day after that.

1st launch is gonna be meh.. but we all expect that so we'll be fine since itd the very first thing. A good buildup of payoff. the backwards 100mph and backwards spike will be very fun and WINDY!! The top hat will feel much the same.. however, TTD varied in its speed.. and if TT2 truly flies over the top consistently.. that will be fun, but not my favorite sensation. Because of the views and a drop that becomes more about the twist than the fall... I much prefer when the top hat crests with a more floaty sensation. Just a strong floater. Lasts longer and I dont feel yanked. But, I understand this is a very personal preference

the airtime on the top hat looks lowkey good, that floater at about 400ft. I am also exited for the backwards launch as it is like a rollercoaster that used to be like my local park which has closed recently before I had the possibility to ride it.

The layout is amazing!!! it is the only coaster of its kind first of all 💯 there's other swing launch coasters but they don't come near to these speeds or these heights, what they do have is longer layouts so what that means is that this is very different. It's an extreme extreme thrill coaster it's special and it does something special if you can't understand that and you need all coasters to be the exact same or be all very similar then why be an enthusiast bro??? It was testing on the webcam today. It looked it was making a pass every couple of minutes

TT2 does not have a lower ride capacity it has about the same. TTD trains held 18 people.. TT2 holds 20 and the ride cycle on TT2 is only about 15 seconds longer. Everyone forgets that yes TTD loaded two trains a time.. but then both trains had to wait, the second train always waited about a full minute before being launched. 15 seconds longer between launches.. but every train holds 2 more people = about the same ride capacity.

Both these rides are stupidly overrated by enthusiasts and I’ll never understand it.

Oddly, Gemini has decent ridership! That is something you cannot forget when trying to forecast if a particular attraction will be staying around or leaving. Also, from the standpoint of a family ride, this ride still accommodates children between that nine and 10 year old range up to 14 or 15 that just will not get on a more thrilling ride.

I was a bit disappointed they had closed it down for Halloweekends (also corkscrew). Looking over at it, it really LOOKS old and obsolete because wood doesn't look good as it ages. I really love this ride though. It was actually my first big roller coaster ride back in 1981. I always love how blue car and red car race, I love that last little circle before you come into landing. It also is a nice smooth ride, unlike the other wooden coaster the Mean Streak (RIP) which was a seriously bumpy jarring ride. I don't think they'll take it out though. The Mine Ride and Blue Streak are both older. Maybe they'll paint it?

Coaster enthusiasts don't always need high intensity high thrill rides. Gemini offers something unique and cedar point is good for prioritizing that. Corkscrew adds nothing unique and will likely get the axe before Gemini. Hopefully they keep the Corkscrew over the midway though to honor it's history.

Huge CP fan...go there all the time, but this "re-imagining" of Top Thrill really does nothing for me. I think they were stuck though...the plot of land is just skinny and long, so their options are lucky. a long wait for a super short ride is just not buy thing.
