It’s just that when you have around the third most rollercoasters in the world with many of them standing out above the rest a lot of them are gonna end up lesser liked. I bet there’s an alternate timeline where Gatekeeper is much more loved than Millennium Force for example

I think Intamin adding LSM’s to the ride for Cedar Point to improve their image is probably the best possibility & makes perfect sense because they’re shipping the track very likely to their factory.
In my opinion, I think that Cedar point is planning open top thrill in 2023 mid season with a new design and theme. Cause why would they be working so fast to ship the track to Italy before the winter. So that the coaster company can make the modification and send it back by the spring so that when the weather gets better, they can install the track and get the coaster up and running.
Intamin is my favorite coaster designer as well. I hope Cedar Point gets another Intamin launch coaster. IMO, a fusion of Pantheon and Velocicoaster with the speed and acceleration of Formula Rossa that had safe G forces would be the best.
Maybe TTD can become that. Never liked the one trick pony height record gimmick. But if you can add some elements after that drop it could be a dream. There's room for it if you remove corkscrew and relocate some maintenance buildings.

Gatekeeper was definitely a ride that blew my mind. It’s definitely a ‘where you sit’ type of ride but that’s what makes it incredible. Always a different ride on EVERY seat ❤️ My home park is Magic Mountain and Discovery kingdom and I feel like out of all the rides I’ve been on from those two parks plus cedar point and Knott’s, gatekeeper for some reason just has that re-ride value that you don’t always get on a “regular traffic” ride.
Almost everything is rumors. When CP wants us too know they will announce it in a public statement everything else is meaningless. CP probably has been working on the design since late 2021. It’s not a project that’s put together quickly
I would say you actually underrated Magnum when talking top coasters at Cedar Point, I'd say at least top 3, but I'd go as fas as to say it's top 2. Steel Vengence is the only coaster at CP I prefer to Magnum. That's as of my most recent visit, where MF dropped like a stone in my rankings due to the slowed lift (debatable if MF is even top 100), Maverick was down all day, and I've always preferred Magnum to Dragster but Dragster of course was not operating.

I never understood why the coaster community says cedar fair and intamin are on bad terms. What spokes person ever said that? They're just looking for the right person for the job at the right time. Intamin had shown after I305 they needed to work on things before they're reliable enough again. The time seems to be about now that that's the case so we might see new deals soon. Other makers, like B&M, GCI, Mack, Skyline, Zamperla have shown they have decent reliability, a good return on investment. Until Intamin can show that again they rather do business elsewhere, but that doesn't mean they have a bad relationship. It's like saying just because you are going to pizza hut you suddenly hate domino's. That's not how that works.
Idk if shipping the old track back to intiman necessarily means they are getting the new track from them. Not that I don't want the intimin and cedar fair rift to heal

I've been to Busch Garden Willaimburg years ago around the time Appollo Chariot opened. My question where else can I find a worthy Maverick style coaster? I'm hitting Universal Studios Orlando and Epcot and checking out Velocoaster and Guardians next week maybe fitting in Busch Gardens Tampa as well. Plus I'm planning a later trip to LA. What rides do I need to check out elsewhere?
If you like Maverick you might like Intimidator 305 at KD. It packs a punch not many do now and I bet you’d like the whippy transitions. Otherwise, maybe try Pantheon and Velocicoaster, but they don’t kick like Maverick does. Think Intamin calmed down after their crazy experimental days.
If it's true that the track is being shipped to Intamin its quite possible that they're going to theme dragster as a rocket or something and bring Intamin in with the vertical launch system they're supposedly working on 🤷
i went on intamins website and the only coaster that really could benefit cedar point is the family launch, the multi inversion seemed like a good pick but cedar fair would probably call gearslaur or however you pronounce it
Well the vertical launch is probably used as proof that the lsm systems can work on any angle (vertically). So my best guess is that the launch will be swing and it will stretch out till the track is on a 60-80 degree angle.

Magnum is tops! At least its the most bang for your buck. I've been at CP 4 times this year. When Maverick and Steel Vengeance have a 90 minute wait Magnum has 10-15. That's about 6 rides in 90 minutes and 6 rides on Magnum is way more fun than a 90 minute line and one ride on any coaster! TTD is without hesitation or any doubts the worst coaster I've ever wasted my time on and belongs in no top 5 coasters list. I'd rather marathon Corkscrew for 3 hours than wait around that long for one airtime hill with not much airtime. I'm really disappointed they are trying to keep it actually. So much wasted space, time and money... CPs top 5, starting with 1, are SteVe, Maverick, Magnum, Millie and Raptor.
B&M = Boring and Monotonous. lol. Basically all of King's Island's steel coasters are B&Ms now with the removal of X-Flight. Dback, Orion, and Banshee. B&M's coasters are all so boring. lol. Raptor and Mantis were cool. But Gatekeeper and Valravn are like literally the same coaster, and Rougarou's trains make it... basically the same coaster. LOL
RMC does the same thing over and over again, while Intamin have a wide variety of successful ride types and they're not afraid to experiment and try new things.

Hmmmm. I have never had my mind blown by any roller coaster at Cedar Point. Going all the way back to Avalanche Run my first thought getting off every new coaster at CP was "that was over hyped". Including all of their B&M's, and their Intamins and yes even on Steel Vengeance. Steel Vengeance is the best in the park and is one of my favorites, but I can think of several coasters with more airtime despite what CPs hype machine says. Maverick and Magnum are pretty good and also among my favorites, but Maverick starts strong but ends weak and too soon. Magnum's first half is weak and only the last three hills have any thrills. Those 3 are good rides. I won't waste any more than 10-15 minutes in line for any ride at CP other than Maverick or Steel Vengeance. Not even MF. Millie has a good first drop but that's about it. I hated Dragster, I am glad it's over, I'm interested in the re-imagining, but unless they actually add some type of layout after the top hat I probably won't waste my time. Wood coasters are my favorite but Blue Streak is rough and has no Airtime. People tell me it does, but I've been riding it since the early 80s, and I have yet to find any but one tiny pop coming off the turnaround... Cedar Point has a great hype machine and an army of hype-notized fans, but hype is not the biggest problem with their coasters. It's that 3 out the 4 top coasters there are unreliable Intamins. I cannot think of anything worse for CP than another Intamin coaster. They are almost all low capacity and so far nearly all have been unreliable. Not just at Cedar Point, but all Intamins everywhere... I would rather see Cedar Point get a 4D Freespin than another Intamin. What they need is a modern and thrilling wood coaster and maybe more modern family coasters. A Mack Extreme Spinner, 500' T Rex or a giant 4th dimension coaster like X2 would be decent additions too. But please no more mild B&M's or unreliable Intamin's for sure!

This ride is getting scrapped they just need to wait until the season is over to get a monster crane to tear it down the lsm launch talk drives me insane the ride is literally getting taken apart
I think it’s being retracked. If it was being scrapped, all of the pieces wouldn’t be even, and they’d send it to the nearest scrap yard
Magnum is so bad. It needs help.

20 years ago it was so good and I could have never imagined it. My last ride this year I sat on the brake run thinking... yep not doing that again.

@@illbyno1 I was stupid and let my son talk me into riding it in July this year. The only thing I remember is the pain.
@@totally_cooked It made my thighs hurt and made steel vengence a little uncomfortable for my 3 rides. Had to go on with my son to get his credit.
Magnum is a national treasure. I have a permanent spine injury and I'm almost 50 and I can lap Magnum all day long.

I have never had my mind blown by any roller coaster at Cedar Point. Going all the way back to Avalanche Run my first thought getting off every new coaster at CP was "that was over hyped".
Including all of their B&M's, and their Intamins and yes even on Steel Vengeance.
Steel Vengeance is the best in the park and is one of my favorites, but I can think of several coasters with more airtime despite what CPs hype machine says.
Maverick and Magnum are pretty good and also among my favorites, but Maverick starts strong but ends weak and too soon. Magnum's first half is weak and only the last three hills have any thrills.
Those 3 are good rides. I won't waste any more than 10-15 minutes in line for any ride at CP other than Maverick or Steel Vengeance. Not even MF. Millie has a good first drop but that's about it. I hated Dragster, I am glad it's over, I'm interested in the re-imagining, but unless they actually add some type of layout after the top hat I probably won't waste my time.
Wood coasters are my favorite but Blue Streak is rough and has no Airtime. People tell me it does, but I've been riding it since the early 80s, and I have yet to find any but one tiny pop coming off the turnaround...
Cedar Point has a great hype machine and an army of hype-notized fans, but hype is not the biggest problem with their coasters. It's that 3 out the 4 top coasters there are unreliable Intamins. I cannot think of anything worse for CP than another Intamin coaster. They are almost all low capacity and so far nearly all have been unreliable. Not just at Cedar Point, but all Intamins everywhere...
I would rather see Cedar Point get a 4D Freespin than another Intamin. What they need is a modern and thrilling wood coaster and maybe more modern family coasters. A Mack Extreme Spinner, 500' T Rex or a giant 4th dimension coaster like X2 would be decent additions too. But please no more mild B&M's or unreliable Intamin's for sure!
There will be a new launch,new trains and a paint job...Anything else is highly unlikely
