Hi there coach! I've been following your weekly plans for quite sometime now and they're fascinating! Thanks a lot again 🩷. Now, I'm just wondering if you can help me with this current situation, for a month I'll only be able to run once/twice a week (each other day will be full with other sports and activities) so, is there a good plan for that? Will I be able to gain something or will it be 'maintaining' at best? I was thinking of dividing the weekly plan over two weeks instead of one would that be good? And thanks in advance!! *Note: I'm fine with long workout sessions. So, making the 2x15min run into 1x30min is fine for me, should I do that as another way to go?*
I love ur videos
@@atongbang450 thank you 🤩 😍
Hey Brodie, absolutely love your channel and all your videos. It was actually this particular video that caused me to discover your channel. I too used to have issues with holes in my shoes and excessive wear. All of my old runners used to get holes in the exact same place at the big toe. I have since completely fixed the issue by increasing my cadence from ~158 to now ~175. My runners, which I have now run over 1000km in almost look like they're brand new. There is no hole at the top and even the soles of them have worn very evenly in comparison.
@@BenMoore1905 thanks for the kinds words and thanks for being a fan of the channel 🥰🥰
Why play games with your cadence? Run barefoot and let your body figure out what it needs.

@@riziriz let’s go Rizwan! 👏 welcome aboard 💪
Doing upper body in the resting time probably won't work for most people because overall fatigue would be too much. Otherwise, thanks for the information on the exercises :)
Morning, based upon diminished returns, does this format apply if one is going further than marathon. I'm training for 100k so would I benefit more from 2 x 3 hours (sat/sun) more than say 5x1 or 4x2 hours over the same 48hour period. I've built a 50k event into the schedule. At peak, I'm looking at doing some 80K per week over 5 runs. Thoughts much appreciated.

Cant i start with bridges and progress with adding small weights?
@NelsonVanDweller if your progressions eventually incorporate the exercises mentioned, then yes. But in my experience, most people just stay on bridges because they don’t see enough improvement. And just adding weights to bridges isn’t a good enough rehab in my opinion.
@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe ok I just tried deadlift and the leg raise . Seems to exacerbate the injury. I'll keep experimenting with lower weights I guess

Good day, thanks for all you share on here. I just tried the whole range of breathing exercises. Each I did for 5 minutes with rest periods in between. By the time I got halfway through exercise number three (forced breathe-in & out) my hands were vibrating and by the end, it was quite vigorous, almost to the point of immobility. I hope to get better with time, my first ever marathon is in 20 days. My longet run to date is 27km at 6:49 per km. That'll put me at 4:47 across the marathon, hoping to shave of about 27-30 minutes by race day. I've gone through lots of your video, but will now start implementing your advice daily.
@@nathyjegs amazing 🤩 keep up the good work and thanks for watching
Thank you for your videos-they’re appreciated. Regarding this one, I wanted to share a slightly different perspective. While I understand your concerns about glute bridges, I don't think they’re inherently as problematic as suggested by stop doing this, I believe the key takeaway is your excellent point about progressing with eccentric loading and focusing on load rather than frequent, low-intensity exercises. That said, I do wonder about the inclusion of step-ups and deadlifts at the end. Since these exercises can create compression at the tendon origin, they might not be ideal in the earlier phases of rehab. Perhaps clarifying their timing within the rehab process could help and provide alternatives that allow progression.
@@BenvanOeveren I appreciate your thoughts. While I don’t think bridges are problematic. I do think they aren’t very effective. (Unless it’s for analgesic effects). And yes, step ups and deadlift do provide a great degree of compression, I usually start people doing these straight away (unconventional) but their starting point will very pending how much compression is tolerated. For example starting with light, 1/4 range of movement 3x5 deadlifts are tolerated by most as a first phase.
Thanks for this and the podcasts; they’re a real help. So much conflicting info is out there. Question: Will seated hamstring curls work in place of prone curls. We only have the machinery to do seated at my gym.

Thanks for another useful video. Btw, is there a connection between caffeine and cramping towards the end of a marathon. This seems to be the case for me, but it's pretty hard to confirm since my body is pushed this hard 1,2x per year.
@@GT-kx6hm glad you found it useful! Unfortunately I haven’t come across any connection there.
So I recently gave away my weight bench and have no way to do the Hamstring curl exercise. And I was very prone to severe hamstring cramping that came on suddenly doing this. So any substitute or recommendation or just skip this one for now?
Started running in the jogging boom 1978 to 79 gradually improved till 1981 peaked at 10 miles race time 58:26 at 41 years old. Hi. Great video. I know this will sound stupid but I am really struggling to learn how to run slow! I am training for the London Marathon (running for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity). I am 58 fairly fit and exercise regularly. I have been training for a month and just seem to really struggle with slow running. This obviously leads me to burn out and having to stop and walk on longer runs. I’m not expecting to run at a fast pace but just want to be able to run further without stopping. Running slow seems to really wear me out!! Sorry if that all sounds stupid. There are loads of great advice on the internet but your videos are very well explained without having to have to wear two watches and a heart monitor and loads of apps etc…that is not meant sarcastically but I just need some very simple actionable advice on exercise and maybe techniques!! Thank you
@@stuartchilds8644 not a stupid question. If you are getting more tired running slower it’s probably because you are inexperienced and inefficient at the slow running style, but with repetition you should self optimise. Make sure your cadence is still within a good range. For most that would be above 165
@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe Thanks for the reply. I'm determined to run at a slow pace! I will keep watching your great videos. 👊

Great video! I've started to watch through your other ones since I saw this. Quick question: For the single 8 exercise, 8 min routine: walking lunges, you mentioned 3 sets of 6 steps per side, followed by 2 minutes of rest, and completing 4 rounds. Does this mean I’m doing a total of 12 sets per leg (3 sets x 4 rounds), which adds up to 72 steps on each leg in total? That seems like a lot-just want to make sure I’ve got it right. Thanks!
@@danielbyrne6214 thanks for the kind words. Sorry for the error. I should be 1 set of 6 each leg. 2 Min rest. Repeated 4 rounds.
With the tiny dumbbells he’s using 6 reps is not enough. I would rather go for higher reps than higher weight because of injury risk though. It’s not ideal, but it’s a good compromise.
