Amazing the effort and professionalism you have to get all this info out there, keep it coming, your channel will blow up soon enough! Looking at participation numbers for mass running events, there's millions out there who will benefit a lot from your well considered videos! I forward them along to club mates all the time.
As for the insoles, I'm pretty interested in biomechanics and data, I bought a Stryd in 2020 as I thought I'd use it to improve GCT, cadence etc, but I have to be honest with myself, even wearing it for every run, I did very little with the info it gave me.
I can see from the wear of my soles, trainer after trainer, that I have a pretty big imbalance from one foot to the other and perhaps that's the best proxy until this kind of insole is mainstream. Any studies on analysing a person's old running shoe sole wear as an indicator of injury potential, etc?

@@leonsshare appreciate the kind words about the channel. Well done with your recent attempts to run smarter. Maybe this video will help with your inquiry What Secrets Are Your Running Shoes Hiding?

@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe ah great thanks. Was wondering too, with it just being the Olympics and a lot of people who perhaps run regularly giving a training session at the track a go, is there anything out there about the left turn bias leading to injury. I've noticed it in myself, left leg achilles and hamstring issues started to present in the spring/ summer season that I ramped up track use/races
In his sub 16 5k at 40+ training vid, Andy Baddeley of the running channel said how he'll be training away from the track for intervals as it still flares up his injuries (he was an elite champion miler in his day)

I think I have some mild runners knee which makes me so sad. 9 days left for big race I was on course for a big big PR!. Any short term general advice?

@@TheValonquar a tricky one. Hopefully the taper will settle symptoms. All the hard work has been done in training. Other last ditch efforts on race day would be taping?

@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe hard mentally not to run im afraid of losing fitness. I havent ran in 5 days and have done 2 gym sessions simple exercises focused on strengthening my hips, glutes, and quads. I was thinking of doing this rehab every other day. Decent strategy or should I refrain from traing all together? Thanks.

I have been thinking about the same sort of product a lot. These imo could be a gamechanger. I am a heavy supinator and it is very hard to alter this. It would be invaluable if I could see data after a run to see where I land on the feet and also how my foot rolls off (I am a forefoot striker) and see what strategies are the right ones when I run to get rid of the supination. And I guess it can measure the force so you could have something like Stryd too. I don't know why they don't go commercial because it has a ton of potential.

There would seem to be lots of value in renting these out for a couple of weeks to collect actionable insightful data outside of the clinic, that a PT/specialist could then use to guide any required remedial or strengthening activity.
Its not like Stryd in that there's value in using it for EVERY run to build up that critical power curve...you're going to learn from this in short bursts and then maybe use it six months down the line to check you're heading in the expected direction...selling it direct to consumer as something that costs £200 (or whatever) and suggesting it becomes part of routine activity kit (and needs replacing every few months) seems like an approach that isn't going to take off in numbers to me 🤷‍♂
I'd potentially pay a £50 supplement to a PT as one of their toolsets and run with them for a couple of weeks to aid that process...but I wouldn't pay double or quadruple that to own them for my own passive use telling me where I'm "not normal" but without giving me the guidance and next steps to use that info.

@@FunkyMagicUK I disagree with that. We know that things like supination and such are very hard to correct. We take thousands of steps when running. It would be very handy to see if you have to correct form and when it breaks apart or correct your form from run to run. Having to go to a PT every time to see if your form is correct will be very expensive very fast. And why not combine it with Stryd like features when you already are measuring power? It could be a goldmine to run with correct form, running in the right power range and having the best running economy.
