I live flick my small rod around the shore of the mid east coast of Australia chasing a variety of sports fish.
I mostly use lures and might live bait if I ever figure out how to do it.
the goal of the channel is to be amusing and educational, my goal fishing is to amuse myself
I give locations, tips and offer my strategies to get onto fish which can be used anywhere, and you'll see in the comments
i mix it up between the yak and land based and will likely run some kayak fishing basics soon.

Middle Harbour Shorejigging Session
A short session after work to get photos of some new nets for my website... but I forgot my tripod!
I fished up up from Tunks park boat ramp at a low tide a few days after my last video was filmed.
Not much to this session except for time on the water, which is a massive advantage when you fish your local water way.

This was a session I had after a number of sessions chasing bream with limited luck. A combination of limited experience, bad weather and maybe bad luck left me with sero bream and even some doughnut sessions. This is a bream fishing comp in Brooklyn NSW. I pre frished an area quite far from the launch and thought it looked pretty good! however 6k's with sore legs wasnt looking like a good idea on the day. Home made lure challenge - Lure Givaway
How do you think the ultralight holds up against the bass? Im thinking of getting a short budget rod for skinny water bass, bream and trout
I think the rods etc don't really matter in spots like this.. 8-10lb line is plenty for fish this size in spots this small. Anything bigger and you would struggle to get your small.lures in
@cballzoutdoors would you recommend an ultralight or light power?
@F11sh-f2h the key feature for that style is short. I had a rod that has a mac cast of 6g and I think something heavier would be better so I could throw up to 15 or so grams
sick where is this
Tunks Park boat ramp, i think it's a low tide only spot though
I reckon the kingfish won the race
awesome fish mate, keep it up
Where can I get one of those fish rulers? 😬
Well.... I am trying to get them however the manufacturer needs me to get a quantity I can't store at this point 😅 not sure what I would do with 500 of them!
lol this same spot is where i lost my squidtrex
I would almost jump in to grab it for the cost of one of those!
Looks like a good spot. Have you had a golf ball land in that bay while you are fishing yet😂.
Lol, not yet! I did find 6 though that I claimed as a prize!!
Yes mate
Great vid. I like your set up. Subbed
I love your work too. Subbed on my personal account for a while now
I love middle harbour! So much life present at the moment. Sick vid mate
What conditions are considered safe to use a kayak in the harbour, I capsized mine the other day and extra cautious now.
Great question. I would say no conditions are safe and you need to always manage risk. Regarding flipping, I flipped my first kayak a few times and it turned out it was just too small. Since getting a much bigger hobie I haven't been close to flipping even once.
Hey mate, good session and i got a very similar setup on the Lynx. You got any tips on putting the Hobie Cart at the end of the trip? Constantly putting it on the side or I have to be in deeper water to hoist the lynx on top of the cart.
Hey Mark, I've been to comps and seen a variety of cart methods but I think mine is easiest when solo. I just put the cart in while the kayak is in knee deep water. No risk of spilling stuff off the kayak but you just get a little wet
great video, is whole sale jigs your business??
Thanks Crumpy, yes wholesalejigs.com.au is mine. I've just started it so the format of the site and products on offer may change a bit in the near future
The fishies were looking great today mate!

Hi, I am a newbie. Looking for fishing partner
I suggest to try 3 inch minnows or jerkshards and cast around the bust up not inside. If you keep doing quick darting motions that looks like baitfish left outside the bait ball, you get instant hits. However, the key is rigging the plastic as straight as possible, otherwise it won't look realistic. The only problem is you lose the tails if they are tailor :)
Interesting strategy, the tailor was captured off the bust up however just this weekend i tried a baby surface lure in a similar situation and a salmon choked it!!
@@cballzoutdoors ruclips.net/video/WjGS6SjfDUs/видео.html My friend has been hooking lots of kings with this technique. It works even when there is no bust up. Probably, it triggers fish's predatory instincts seeing a baitfish swimming like crazy.
@devoker666 that looks amazing.. if I ever rig one straight in sure to catch something
Heaps EPs around those pontoon near the boat ramp mate. Get the surface lures out 👍
My mum told me I couldn't handle surface 🙃
Hey mstey were do you lauch from ive got a pa14 on trailer its hard to find good spots
This is right up your alley. Tunks Park boat ramp, has trailer only parking in abundance
There were quite a few tailor bustups in Cowan Creek last weekend - they only wanted soft plastics and didn't care much for hard bodies and spinners
I'm hoping the frenzied tailor mean in the next few weeks bigger predators show up!!
I was kayak fishing in bobbin head marina 2 weeks ago and caught 15 tailor on a baitjunkie 2.5 minnow. The tailor were busting up like crazy. To bad I got kicked out😭💀
Fingers crossed for the predator theory - will be testing it bright and early tomorrow morning
Wife comment 😂😂😂😂
Next time your heading to Forster shoot me a message and we can go find some chunky boys
I will have to! Listening to a podcast cast everyone struggled!
@@cballzoutdoors it’s a funny system, the following weekend I pulled 5 fish for a total of 3.2kg in under an hour not 30m from where you guys paddled through the start buoy’s 🤣
@MitchBig88 🥲
Please share the stl file for this. Looks awesome.
I'm not actually happy with it just yet! I'll upload to cg trader when it's perfect. I need to change the shape of the rattle weight shift chamber
Fantastic, should work well
LOOOOVE! woodford bay, that sandstone/sandy bottom has produced many-a-nice flathead dinner. great video 10/10.
Where did you get your net from
I will have them up on my site by about December 1st
Fish like a champion
Measuring a fish is nose to notch in the centre of the tail. Everyone is doing this mistake, wishful thinking
I know other states do to the end of the fork for legal size limits, but NSW is the fun state!
what mirco jigs are you using
never mind
@JakeHume-ei2dv I wasn't sure if you were joking due to my shameless plug 😁 it was just the 7gram that session
Is this middle harbour around northbridge?
No it's a bay between Greenwich and lanecove
Nice one mate! That last boat before the sand flat definitely holds Bream. Had a few very nice bites in the GF on that particular boat!
It's a fishy spot!! Just need good tides to get a bit of current with the structure
Another great video! I love this ultra light shore jigging, need to head over to the site to pick up a jig pack
I really miss your bream fishing escapades
Attempts more like it!! They will be back when my spine is back in order
Rippa video! I really got to get some of these lures from you...
Great video, big fan of the shore jigging sessions!!!
I'll be starting to do a bit more of it now that bream season is over and daylight savings pushed the sun back for some after work sessions
@ Fantastic, I look forward to it
Well that was nice to watch while I had my Sunday morning coffee. Great Trev by the way. Nice vid and very enjoyable to watch. Cheers.
Great to hear! I'll make the videos anyway but it's great to hear someone is enjoying them
At long reef, where would you park your car ? isn't it so expensive parking fee area ?
Yes.. it's expensive $45, but being close to the landing is worth it if you are wrecked after the a big day on the water
@cballzoutdoors 45. Wow. That's bit much. However is that wave calmer than other beach ? I want to go and join you when u go offshore near northern area including ling reef.
@emales2 yeah it is very calm compared to other areas. Follow me on imstagram because I'll normally post something when I'm heading out (I'm injured at the moment so probably not till the new year)
@@cballzoutdoors gosh. Hope u get well soon. Because of kayak ?
@emales2 thank you 😊 the injury is from deadlifting and other exercises
How much did it cost to enter
It was about 120$ I think with measure mat hat and all the lures. I liked the lures as well so not a bad spend
Great video mate! I can see the extra effort you put into this one. Well done!
It's the extra angles that make it
we used to play down around there as kids back in the 80s, awesome counrtyside. Dont remember seeing a lot of fish though, nice work.
Well that was awesome. You were rewarded for effort there with that fish. I've caught bass the same way accidently casting over a branch. Very good to watch and some great country to walk through. Look forward to seeing you get more bass out of that creek.
After my back recovers! I have a few other Sydney creeks to explore that I don't think I've seen anyone hit yet which I'm keen for
Tea bagging for bass 😂😂😂 Legendary
The only thing that worked surprisingly!
@@cballzoutdoors I mostly fly fish. I’d love to get onto some of these skinny Sydney creeks, but the casting looks a little too tight on that one.
Fark that last stack was nasty bro and man I laughed when you zoomed in on that fish half in half out of water 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed! Not the typical catch but hopefully you still considered it a worthwhile watch!
Nice video
Thank you Ben, your are a valued viewer.
@@cballzoutdoors ❤️
Just watching this now. Dolphin experience would have been awesome. Plenty fish though I see. Well done. Not sure on that "law", one day i pulled in 12 bream, most about the 30cm, two about 35cm. No horses but some were feral as...
What cream you put in jig?
Its Gulp scent. It is just a stinky oily fish smell that soaks into the fabric on a jig
@@cballzoutdoors thank you ☺️
Sick man you must've been buggered after that! I hope the announcer dude called out "cballz" 😂😂😂😂😂
Absolutely exhausted, but it's quite a clean weekend because everyone is so tired, we just ate, tied fg knotts and got to sleep early 😴 funnily, getting someone to say cballz out loud in public is very challenging!!!
@@cballzoutdoors haha, I'm ready to yell cballz publicly. If we ever have a session I'll do it!
Nice review mate ... was a tough round , thanks for sharing 👍
Good video. Cheers from the 🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed. I know US fishing is very different!! Why Australians obsess over these little fish that are very hard to catch is beyond most people!
I really enjoyed watching that. Have you tried targetting flatties and see if all the bream jump on???? LOLOLOL I think you're doing really well. I love your attitude towards the whole thing and you got your fish in the end so well done. I'll keep a look out for your next hobi tournament.
Make sure you say g'day! Regarding attitude, I think it's hard to have a bad time when you have 3 days away to do nothing but fish! The emotional roller-coaster of if you'll catch something and the feeling of starting up that live well! My experimentation with flatties has shown, no matter what you target You will catch flathead!!
I feel like you should've been penalised for tampered with other contenders kayaks on the 2nd day. Those sand holes though!
You have no evidence and you'll never stop me
Great video mate...see you at the next event
