- This is my first Hobie competition which is a two day kayak fishing competition.
Basically you need to catch a max of 3 bream over 26cm and they get weighed.
While going to events where you do not know anyone can be intimidating, the event was very social with everyone happy to help peopple out with kayak loading and giving eachother helpful tips.
as you see in the video, it was a flatty slaying session! unhooking them seemed to take forever because there were just so many of them!
Setups I uses are below, and I almost caught everything on plastics in 80cm-2m of water on the sand holes in weed beds.

Nice video n well done mate
Nice review mate ... was a tough round , thanks for sharing 👍
Great video mate...see you at the next event
Sick man you must've been buggered after that! I hope the announcer dude called out "cballz" 😂😂😂😂😂
Absolutely exhausted, but it's quite a clean weekend because everyone is so tired, we just ate, tied fg knotts and got to sleep early 😴 funnily, getting someone to say cballz out loud in public is very challenging!!!
@@cballzoutdoors haha, I'm ready to yell cballz publicly. If we ever have a session I'll do it!
Good video. Cheers from the 🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed. I know US fishing is very different!! Why Australians obsess over these little fish that are very hard to catch is beyond most people!
I really enjoyed watching that. Have you tried targetting flatties and see if all the bream jump on???? LOLOLOL
I think you're doing really well. I love your attitude towards the whole thing and you got your fish in the end so well done. I'll keep a look out for your next hobi tournament.
Make sure you say g'day! Regarding attitude, I think it's hard to have a bad time when you have 3 days away to do nothing but fish! The emotional roller-coaster of if you'll catch something and the feeling of starting up that live well!
My experimentation with flatties has shown, no matter what you target You will catch flathead!!
Just watching this now. Dolphin experience would have been awesome. Plenty fish though I see. Well done.
Not sure on that "law", one day i pulled in 12 bream, most about the 30cm, two about 35cm. No horses but some were feral as...
I feel like you should've been penalised for tampered with other contenders kayaks on the 2nd day.
Those sand holes though!
You have no evidence and you'll never stop me
Next time your heading to Forster shoot me a message and we can go find some chunky boys
I will have to! Listening to a podcast cast everyone struggled!
@@cballzoutdoors it’s a funny system, the following weekend I pulled 5 fish for a total of 3.2kg in under an hour not 30m from where you guys paddled through the start buoy’s 🤣
@MitchBig88 🥲
