Beautiful spot there. I would love to go back but I’m also a bit scared, I gotta be honest. How you love the slammer? Couldn’t catch the size. 25/30 are pretty similar. I have the 25, may buy the 3000 as well.
I think you are appropriately cautious. I only go when I think conditions are near perfect. Regarding the slammer 4 2500 dx... I kindof hate it. I had to get the gears replaced, it came back just as Geary, then i replaced all the bearings with ceramics and shimmed it myself to make it "ok" to fish. While it's good, it isn't $380 good.
@@cballzoutdoors ok, so I’m not the only one. I’m bringing it back today (actually now), for the second time. When I purchased it, it was super stiff and they say it’s normal. They replace the bearings for me. Still stiff but better. In salty water, it’s a little tank, but now it’s (maybe geary like you said), very very scratchy when retrive. But power wise, I would only change it with a 3000. But, there ya go, if you got the same problem, then wasn’t a case. I’ll let you know what they says to me today 🤣
@4WLEX I looked online and basically saw a lot of people complaining about the 2500 dx specifically BUT have seen Rokkit kit with similar poor sounding gears in an Authority. I think it won't fail, but for a premium price I expect more.
@4WLEX I'm not sure what I'll do next.. despite all the issues I did fix mine so I'm just going to keep it for salt water bashing in the yak.. I am looking to try a daiwa at a 300ish price range so might get a caldia sw
It's a daiwa measure mat from iso fishing lifestyle, its great because it also floats. They have a bunch of random stuff like that for a reasonable price as well
I have the garmin striker 4+ which is the cheapest you can get with gps. I highly rate it but any sounder has a big learning curve. Small setup is a slammer 4 2500dx which I do not recommend because to get it working, I sent it to penn. They couldn't fix it, I then replaced all the bearings with ceramics(expensive) then had to shim the gears (time consuming). Paired with an Atomic Arrows AAS-702 which is brilliant, and 15lb daiwa grand braid and 16lb j-thread fc leader
Well done on cracking the code! Must feel amazing when it all comes together - definitely can't get bored of it
Next step is to repeat it!
Great video, I enjoyed it. Only just found you but I’ll be watching a lot more. Love your work🤙🎣
Thank you! I've checked out your channel and subbed on my personal. I'll have to study it before I go on a some freshwater missions!
@@cballzoutdoors thank you. Honoured. I doubt I’ll be able to teach you anything.
Hey CBallz where did you get that foldable measuring mat thanks
I got it from isofishinglifestyle. It's a jdm daiwa board and surprisingly hard to find
Great content as always!
Thanks 😊 wasn't super happy with the inside of the lense being fogged up but no idea what I can do about it in the future!

Mate where do you get those foldable rules that you were measuring the fish from?

@@cballzoutdoors Thank you mate, appreciate it.
Unique edit content good stuff
Thank you 🤗
Epic session off the yak mate how's your sea sickness going?
It seems pretty hit and miss. That day I was fine so maybe I'm getting over it?? Surely your body figures it out in time
What weight is the arrowz?
10-25lb. It's the older model and I seem to remember it being 6-8kg.
It's brilliant
What’s your sounder setup and what the blue line spinning reel setup?
