I can’t wait for you to continue this project! I’ve tried adding custom villagers to my E+ game through save editing; however, interfering too much with the game itself makes my game real buggy and my villagers suddenly nameless and homeless. Also, using Cuyler’s villager editor, it also crashes at certain points if I pick certain animals: unfortunately, I come to believe that editor hasn’t been updated in years.

@Hunter-R, would you be able to make reproduction e reader cards, like the 4 nes games, and some official villagers? If you sold those, I'd definitely buy them.

This seems surreal to me. Imagine getting a cute e reader card as a kid from a totally trustworthy guy, only to scan it and get the animal crossing equivalent of Herobrine in your world or something. Definitely never happened, but just imagine if it did.

Interesting. I wonder if there's a translation of this version of Animal Crossing or a way to implement the functionality into the US version. It would be interesting to see Mirage from the Disney's Aladdin TV series in Animal Crossing.

I’ve done some modding for animal crossing new horizons and I think it’s super interesting just how similar it is to this. ACNH stores basically all of the villager data in one massive file, and small edits in there can change a villager entirely because it has things like species and personality in it. I had to go through some reverse engineering nightmare when I was working with it to find some of the smaller details that weren’t documented online like which bits were responsible for favorite color and phone case lol

Man, now i wish we can edit their dialogue and then we effectively got a more sandboxy animal crossing. Creating our own villagers and stuff with their own personality and stuff to make them unique, endless possibilities for actually making a more story-moded animal crossing.
