I didn't use any Somber weapons, so at the end of the run, all four were at +25. If you're specifically asking during the intro setup, I only remember my Longsword being at +19 when fighting Morgott in Leyndell. I can't recall the others since I've already deleted all the footage except the final video.

Thanks for the compliment, but I wouldn't give myself too much credit. The main reason I'm able to adapt and learn quickly is because I've been playing Souls games since the first Demon's Souls in 2009. So I have over fifteen years of legacy skill and knowledge to fall back on.

Yeah the delayed attacks tend to get to me too, there are very subtle tells for dodging its flailings but with how much is going on in the fight, it can get overwhelming. Are you using Windows 11, by any chance? I heard that the recent update introduced something called Windows Recall which acts like spyware and monitors your screen. Not sure if that's what you're referring to, but it's why I refuse to let in any Windows 10 updates or downgrade to Win11. It sucks that we can't stop updates indefinitely.

@@magnolia549 Recall is for specific class of processors, which I do not have (luckily), it's just 24H2 update that messed up most of things that worked fine. Since I am not tech-savvy much, I struggle with all this mess they create for unknown reason. Stopping updates entirely is my big wish, in the end, I am the user, not some microcrap suit unable to understand that I am not their slave.

I've forgotten which attack it was, but every Great Katana has a poke and it is a fast follow-up after doing a running poke (again, I forgot which input it was since I haven't used them much). Those two were the attacks I used to most when I tried the DHGK on Bayle and I would use the weapon skill after it does the hop > tail swing. Because you're positioned near the head, you can connect both the physical weapon and the beam slash for the extra damage.

Poison > Rot > Bleed! Who am I kidding, Poison has always been lackluster in the Souls games; aside from Plague and Toxic in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1. I still love the heck out of it though, DoTs are fun even if the damage isn't great, it provides the comfort of knowing that the enemy's health is ticking down while I'm busy dodging. Thanks for the compliments honestly! Gren was the first original character I thought up for Elden Ring. Because I'm not particularly skilled at coming up with stories that line up with established lore, it took almost a year to get some basic character information down. Once I was able to do that, the build made itself, haha. I'm glad to hear that the editing was entertaining, that's what I was striving towards. Yeah, I do enjoy role-playing and getting into the mind of the characters I created but the Souls games have never catered to that aspect of character-creation, so a player's motivation for doing so has to be extrinsic. A Machinima-style video is what I originally wanted to do, but this is what I can accomplish with the tools and time I have available. So I'm just happy to have made something entertaining. The musical vibe I was going for with the character and video isn't something easy to come by. Since i have no prior knowledge or experience with music, it took a long time of browsing through RUclips to finally chance upon Nier music again and it just clicked. I've been aware of Drakengard and Nier games since DKG2, but the fast(er)-paced combat and lack of a character creator was always a deal-breaker for me. But I bought NieR: Automata a few years back during a Steam sale because the demo was fantastic, but the full game wasn't my cup of tea and I ended up losing interest right after the tutorial area.

Sorry about that, I was still in the role-playing mindset while editing but I should have just called them the Rat spirits for clarity. :X

The Skeleton Militiaman and Bandit Spirits you can get early from the Tibia Mariners at Summonwater Village and Liurnia are really good for pulling aggro and reviving indefinitely; as long as there's no lingering DoT. I could see a Skeleton Lord character wielding something like the Death's Poker. Thanks for the compliments, I'm definitely trying to improve with each new video so I'm glad it's coming across! :D

It's in one of the towers near the start of Elphael, the second-half of Miquella's Haligtree. As for directions: - Start from the Prayer Room site of grace and head right (north-east) towards the city. - Head down the path, you will find two entrances to your left. - Head into the second entrance, up the long flight of stairs inside, then head out right at the top of said stairs. - Jump onto the branch directly in front of you and follow it up (south). - Jump down onto the path directly (east) that leads to a bell tower directly to you. - If you haven't been here before, there will be an item laying on the ground. - Congrats, you found the Miquellan Knight's Sword! Thank you! :) I did this weapon test because I genuinely forgot it existed until a frequent viewer notified me of it. Yeah, the R2 is great and it's a shame we didn't get a regular weapon in the DLC with that attack; like how Messmer Soldier's Spear uses the Treespear's two-hit R2s. Also yeah, a lot of these "dead air" moments add up and blow up the video length so ripostes were one such moments that felt fine to cut short. It was only after I started doing it that I noticed how visceral they can look when it's done quicker, haha.

As mentioned above, you can only get the Haligtree Crest Greatshield from a singular specific enemy in the Haligtree and the drop-rate isn't the best. If you don't care much for fashion and are just looking for a decent alternative - before the Haligtree - that doesn't require a lot of farming, the Golden Greatshield from the Leyndell Knight (that wield them) would do just as well. Require 34 Strength, has 68% Holy negation and 78 Guard Boost; one point below HCGS's 79 GB. If you're not keen on farming, the Black Steel Greatshield is a guaranteed drop from the DLC and is an excellent choice too. Requires 35 STR, has 84% Holy neg and 74 Guard Boost. Hope that helps. :)
