Thanks for trying out the build I recommended! I realized soon after commenting on the post that a regen build might not be super useful for someone who barely gets hit at all, but I'm glad you liked it!
On a full run, I get hit a lot, haha. I'm not a skilled player by any means so Blood Tax would be useful for me. I can often fight Malenia hitless because I've faced her so often that I know her moves and timings like the back of my hand.
lmao i literally have no idea what you were explaining but it was impressive. Ive only beat the game once and im currently in my ng+. i read bleed builds are pretty solid. maybe ill try em out.
I did several tests before and after this recording and it's definitely a fantastic skill. It's not a win button so you can't play recklessly and expect it to save you all the time, but it's fantastic for moments where you need to keep attacking and don't have the opportunity to flask up.
Recently played a dexterity/arcane character, my main weapon being a Godskin Peeler with blood affinity and Blood Tax. Not only the damage was brutal, it also saved me quite a lot of crimson flasks while doing some dungeon crawling.

Oh! That waterfowl save holllly
It happens so often in my practice sessions that I'm no longer fazed by the 1HP survival, haha.
Damn, that's a cool AoW. Looks like a potential life saver in many situations.

Yeah, the ability to heal and keep attacking without having to back off to flask up is a utility that's more useful than it may seem on the surface.
Easily better than Malenia
What weapon are you using? Looks good so far🤌🏽
Knight Greatsword.
