Thank you, I wanted these lessons to have a relaxing environment because it's something I would personally want. Malenia is panic/anxiety-inducing enough as it is, so having a place where you can have a breather and take your time to learn is something I believe can help others too.
I really like the framing of the player being in control of the fight, this can be applied to so many, if not all, bosses. Once you understand that, you can dominate everything, it's how you git gud
Yeah, I see most players walking into Malenia's range and panicking because they don't know what she'll do or how she'll react. They're basically letting her have control of the fight. By doing something as simple as throwing a projectile, you take it away from her and you remove that uncertainty because you have a better idea of what she's going to do.
This is a great teaching style! You're breaking down the fight into a simple lesson with a clear goal, and most importantly you're giving people hope that they can follow your advice. It's so intuitive and there's no uncertainty involved. While my own approach is far more chaotic, I can appreciate your super clean approach. It's like the yin to the yang, it creates balance.
Thanks! I'm able to do this because I'm approaching these lessons in a way I wish existed. I'm a slow learner, but in life and on RUclips, I've never had the benefit of having good teachers who are willing to take it slow for me. The vast majority of "guides" for Malenia aren't satisfactory for me and are mostly poorly-explained clickbait. It's always about blurting out everything you need to know, cramming too much in one session and expecting you to know what to do now because "they told you everything". It doesn't work for someone like me because I need people to guide me like: "Okay, let's take it slow and we'll start with something simple". So I learn mostly from my own practice and watching unedited fights from normal "non-pro" players. Everything I'll be teaching comes from my countless practice sessions and the optimising I did.
Nice bro, I like watching your fights this will be good. I find her extremely fun to fight except for waterfowl dance, it turns this fight into a gimmick to me
Thank you, glad you enjoy these! Yes, Malenia is mostly a gimmick fight because of WFD. Although her other attacks are blindingly-fast, they're manageable with practice. What causes the most trouble with WFD is the mental paralysis that occurs with many people because of how sudden it can appear. She's suddenly up in the air when she's mostly been on the ground, she has hyper-armour during the jump and very few attacks can stagger her out of it, and if you mistime the dodge for the first flurry, it's almost always a guaranteed death. Even though it can be overcome, it's still quite a nonsensical gimmick.
i have 600+ hours in elden ring, maybe a couple thousand in all fromsoft games. i've defeated malenia definitely 10+ times solo (probably 20+). yet from your last video, i have learned a new approach on how to familiarize myself with new movesets in general. even tho the video is titled "for beginners" i think the veterans could learn a thing or two from that as well. i dont need any help to defeat malenia at this point but i'll definitely try this method to solve the dlc bosses, maybe it'll be faster than my own thing. i dunno if majority of the maidenless elden ringaboos think like this but i'm sure i'm not the only one. tysm love ur content
Thanks for the kind words, glad I was able to help in some way! I like to think that nobody ever stops learning so it's best to approach everything with an open mind. As Gideon said "the pursuit of knowledge is without end". There is never a time where there's nothing to learn.
I like ur approach, hope to see some fun content in the dlc from you soon!!
Thank you! :)
This is so well made, can't wait for more!
Thank you! :)
I really dig the vibe you're going for with these vids, looking to see what you have for part 2!

Like everyone else has been saying, this is very, VERY well made. I would love to see more guides in this style for other bosses
Thank you! :)
