A recent patch has made it pretty straightforward to get the exact items you want, tho you probably won't get full sets of upgraded orange weapons until you're level 30. It's an XP/cost issue rather than an RNG/difficulty issue.

@vgameface ohh that's good, a lot more satisfying haha. Would you suggest psyker to start? I been wanting to but it's hard to get the current understanding of what characters are good when there hasn't been much videos recently that I can find after patches. It was him or zealot

I'd start on zealot over psyker personally. Zealot is a very straightforward class that will more easily facilitate you learning melee combat, which is the single most important skill in the game. Leveling psyker was a bit of a drag for me personally, tho it opened up and got more fun the higher level I got.

I know this is an older comment, but seeing as the game just came out on Switch I wanted to look into some of the issues you mentioned. I found info on everything except for the "anti-LGBT" actions. Could you be a bit more specific what you were referring to with that bit? I would be genuinely appreciative. Thanks!

There's several members of the Sun Haven Steam Discussion who engage in anti-LGBT hate speech against the userbase and the devs, try and trick prospective buyers into not getting the game, and don't actually own the game themselves (something Steam will tell you via an icon in Steam Discussions). Despite numerous users reporting them, these reports have been ignored and they have been allowed to terrorize the Steam Discussions for months. Instead, if you try to defend this game or defend LGBT people against these guys, YOU will get banned from Sun Haven's Steam Discussion for "disrespect" despite you not being anywhere near as disrespectful as these guys. This policy is extended to the Discord Server. If a user who just joined mocks the LGBT nature of the members and laughs at the pain of frustrated players, that is perfectly fine. But if someone tells that jerk the reason they are blocking them in DMs, that is an offense worthy of an instant permaban. Extending further to the Sun Haven Subreddit, more of the same. Anti-LGBT topics will be allowed even when reported, but pro-LGBT topics will be heavily scrutinized by the Subreddit staff. Despite the game's LGBT nature of a binormative world with a canonically non-binary protagonist, Pixel-Sprout shows a clear and obvious bias against LGBT customers and pro-LGBT messages from their fans compared to anti-LGBT content from their detractors.

@Cyberweasel89 Thanks for the additional info. I was leaning away from buying this game anyway since reading up more on it (prompted by your original comment). I also read that the devs have added a lot of stuff to the base game without refining things along the way, making it a bit overwhelming in terms of the number of machines, recipes, etc required. All of this combined means I'll likely give this one a miss. It's too bad, because the base game at least looked like something I would have really enjoyed. I'll stick to my other titles for now. Thanks again for sharing what you did. Much appreciated.

@@nicked_fenyx Happy to help. Of course, I do want to say it's still an enjoyable game. Yeah, it has some frustrating features, and some of the mechanics are a bit of a mess in terms of a lack of refining. You do really get the sense that they added things in they thought would be fun but didn't refine them or integrate them into a full, cohesive experience. A perfect example of this lack of refining is the relationship mechanics. The romanceable NPCs are fully fleshed out, which is good. But the non-romanceable NPCs feel like they only got half the relationship system. And I don't mean that in the sense you can't romance them, that's a given. You can't give non-romanceable NPCs gifts, but they still have the same Heart Levels, meaning that raising Hearts with non-romance NPCs and getting the rewards for it is a matter of serious long-term grinding and RNG, since you can't simply give them gifts to make it happen.

You actually have 4 decks (1 per character on your team). Each character has a pre-set starting deck that you can modify however you want each run.

They overhauled the feats tab into a full skill tree. Just take the left-most ability in the new tree and the rest is the same.

The lettuce only grows in the Spring and withers in the Summer, unfortunately.

No, you don't need any DLCs. The base game has a LOT of content and afaik all the DLCs are cosmetic items like mounts and hats and furniture.

You can look for one at the Requisition shop which rotates stock every (real time) hour, or you can buy them blindly in bulk from Brunt's Armory. Those are both at the same equipment shop in the Morningstar, in different parts of the shopkeeper menu. Brunt's Armory will usually be faster but more expensive to find a good one. Once you find one with decent stats (high Damage, First Target, Finesse) you can upgrade it at Hadron's shop and hope you get good perks/blessings. Upgrading is expensive and costs a lot of plasteel, so I generally don't upgrade things without at least 350 base stats (380 is the max). You can reroll 2 of the 4 perks/blessings, so to end up with a very good weapon you hope that Hadron gives you 2 good ones so that you can swap out the other two. The last way is to look for one at Melk's shop, which uses a different currency and rotates stock every 24 hours. These are all highly upgraded so you can see what you'll get before you spend anything, but it's rare to find a weapon with everything; good stats, good perks, good blessings. Generally I use Melk's shop just to find good high level blessings, then I strip them off and put them on a weapon I rolled at Brunt and Hadron's. I hope this helps! The weapon upgrade system is pretty cumbersome and expensive at the moment. The game devs said it's the next thing they are going to overhaul, but it probably won't be done for at least a few months.
