Crit on heat buildup is much better. Also the brittleness on hit increases you and your teams damage by 15% on everything you hit. Giving you better breakpoints against all armored units also.
Debatable. Gets Hot adds a ton of crit chance but a crit on the plasma is only +10% damage so its fairly meh overall. It might help you reach certain breakpoints if you're close, so could be worth taking if you're close to a breakpoint you want to hit. I've tested Shattering Impact (for brittleness) and what I've found is that it gives essentially zero benefit for anything but maulers, crushers, and monstrosities, because everything else will be dead before the debuff helps. Maulers and Crushers still die in the same number of shots with or without the brittleness so it's a marginal benefit at best for them. It could help the team's damage output on monstrosities but the small boost it grants isn't worth the blessing slot IMO. Regardless, the choice of blessings really is marginal min/maxing since you don't need any blessings for the plasma to work, it's just a strong weapon on its own.
Note, exhilarating takedown is bugged at the moment and increases your toughness damage instead of decreasing it. I think… saw it in a video, haven’t tested it for my self
Edit: This was fixed, ET is working correctly and is safe to take. I just tested this and I can confirm this is true. It does give you toughness on kill as described but then increases toughness damage taken. Bummer! Hopefully it gets patched soon. In the meantime you can still take this to get to Precision Strikes, (which is great) or take Deadshot instead which actually does nothing on plasma, so it's a wasted point but won't hurt our DR.
Hey thanks for following along with my content! I haven't played with the Boltgun lately but I imagine this build should work fairly well for it. I might ignore the left bottom tree in favor of the right bottom tree to get Onslaught, which I think would be better on the bolter than Precision Strikes. But again I haven't tested it out.
The new (new new?) vet tree is a big W. I may redo the video in the future, but for now I've updated the GamesLantern build link in the video description with my picks for this build.
@@kennet5444 Lol yup it's a couple mods. I held off on modding for about 500 hours. Now that I have all the QOL updates I don't know why I didn't add em sooner.
Still haven't really tried the plasma gun. Seems so slow and clunky. Very little ammo as well. My current build uses the lasgun MkIV (yes lol). Bless it with Ghost (second blessing can be whatever. I'm using infernus but I'm still experiementing), paired with the suppression immunity talent, and you can face-tank any ranged enemy group as long as you get a headshot every 1.2 seconds (which you should always be aiming for the head). The higher fire rate of the mk4 allows you to make a few misses, and the two toughness-on-kill talents in the veteran skill tree keep your health topped off. I don't use any ammo talents, as I've never found myself running out. The weapon also allows you to deal with enemies at odd ranges like shotgunners- too far for melee but too close for aiming. You can spam hipfire very accurately (keep in mind you're invulnerable while you're hitting heads). I've taken out entire gunner patrols like this while the whole team is hiding behind cover. And if all else fails you can pop voice of command and scurry away. Obviously there's other playstyles out there and I'm sure they're fun. This is one that I've found has a decent answer to just about every type of threat you can face.
The MkIV is really good right now, that sounds like a fun build! Headhunter or Deadly Accurate blessings work great as they both reward the headshots you're doing. I'd recommend giving the plasma a try at some point, it takes a bit of getting used to and then it's just so satisfying.
@@vgameface sadly not as viable now with the heavy veteran nerfs... with exhilarating takedown bugged and confirmed kill giving much less toughness you have to have near perfect aiming to make this work now
@@neilorourke71 The exhilarating takedown bug is disappointing AND a big issue. I think the vet will feel a good deal better once that (easy to reach) talent is usable, it offers a bunch of DR and toughness sustain that is very needed atm.
Great video dude 👍
Thank you 🙏 glad you enjoyed it

True I tested it and it does indeed not work now.

I can't wait to try this. Would a boltgun work with this also? Love your builds on all my characters.

Any update on the build? The tree did change around.

Hey dude how do you get the charge up, health bar and etc UI with more info? I couldnt find it in options anywhere, its mega useful
Ah its a fuckin mod, disregard

You might wanna make a new veteran build cuz of the anniversary patch.
Already out!
