Honestly as black people we're gonna have to figure out ways to not be so reliant on the government and corporations. I dont have a concrete solution as far a collective but we all have are own skills that we can monetize to become more self-sufficient.

The majority of black people wanted affirmative action and Dei is the next level of it and we told you this would happen but of course they didn't listen so nobody else to blame except for the people pushing for affirmative action because it was based on the idea of the bigotry of low expectations. Instead of focusing only on education and helping people at the bottom data strategy to Forest and fake equal outcomes. It has hurt black people so much and this has been written about by really smart people like Thomas Sowell and Larry Elder. Make sure keep pushing things on everybody else and still expect to be seen equally. Especially when all of these practices are their own form of discrimination.

I’m split with this one. While DEI certainly deserves the criticism it gets, I also feel like conservatives have been using it as some kind of a scapegoat for literally anything that goes wrong, so I get where you’re coming from. What I’ve learned is that when you use a term too frequently, even when it’s not applicable to your argument, the more that term loses its meaning. Both the left and the right are guilty of this, with the left using terms like “fascism” and the right using “DEI hire”.

I dont agree with you but appreciate the discussion. They even got rid of testing in schools to accommodate POC's who couldn't keep up with their asian and white counterparts. That's DEI and was extremely harmful to those POC's. Instead of helping them keep up, they got rid of testing all together, this led to the same POC'S having a hard time in university and the workforce because they never learned anything, they we just ushered through with testing or help. DEI is not a slur, it hurts the people it's supposed to help. You should watch the video of the mom suing her school system because her black teenage soje couldn't read despite passifn him to go up a grade every year.

To all those crying “DEI HIRE!”, imagine having a leg up on people for decades. Decades of nepotism and legacy hires and good old boy hires that didn’t earn it. Decades of knowing you are a perfect fit for a position but then not even being considered because the name on your application reads “DeShawn Williamson” or some other “non-white” name. Or having the credit for all your hard work stolen for decades or the raise that you earned stolen and given to some undeserving person because they were white and of course you weren’t allowed to speak up for fear of losing your job. Unfortunately well qualified minorities are negatively affected due to DEI. I've seen less qualified minorities get jobs due only to gender/race where I work. The only way to get rid of this stereotype is to get rid of DEI.

DEI hire is a hire that would not have happened without DEI policies. You try to depict it as racist but it is not. It says what it is. And of course this only concerns POC and non-binary gender people. Most POC and non-binary are not DEI hires. Sime of them are, especially in the recent years. Also, diversity in color of skin and sexual practices while excluding people for political/personal beliefs is not diverse. DEI advocates share being leftist, extremely intolerant of the right, and more often than not, being more incompetent than the opposite. Like it or not, this is the reality check and why the democrats lost this election. DEI is just a money grab from people who tried to make themselves indispensable to businesses, but on the basis of nothing. I'll agree with you on nepotism, connections and legacy, which was widely spread practice but actually still is, just in conjunction to DEI. Two wrongs don't make a right. Both should be denounced and cancelled. I am an advocate for plain and simple meritocracy. Sadly, I also know this could be done, but it is a naive way of thinking as there will always be people willing and able to game the system and rig it in their favor. Which both DEI policies and nepotism are examples of. One being wrong does not make the other right as they are not antithetical. Furthermore, and as a POC, I believe DEI policies are insulting and very demeaning. I was not hired on that basis, but if I were to be hired since those policies were implemented, I would not know if I was hired on the basis or skin color or for my merit. And let's be frank, the first would be more likely. This is incredibly insulting as being a POC has never made a victim of the system. Sure there were hardships, but like anyone else you psuh through and focus on what's important. This is where black comunities have it all wrong in the US: they focus on the wrong thing and get their energy drained into improductive activities and behaviours. I'm proud of what I achieved, when I look back. I never needed DEI for that. Non POC never rejected me except a handful of basket cases I just igbored as they were not worth anyone's time. If one is hired thanks to DEI, they are a DEI hire. Meaning they got in because they were "diverse", and they dis not get in because they were competent. Plain and simple. Complaining about DEI being revoked won't change that.
