Aside from Amanda constantly complaining about race and why people don't like her and politics. Amanda claimed to be autistic, when someone asked when she was diagnosed, Amanda claimed that she diagnosed herself and wouldn't pay a professional because it cost like $10K. I have been diagnosed with Asperger's/autism. I got tested for free, twice. The first time by a psychiatrist who said that he saw elements of autism. Second time by a psychologist who thoroughly interviewed me and did an assessment. Amanda Seales saying that autism test cost like $10K might deter many undiagnosed autistics who need help, to go get tested. And might cause people who think they have it, to announce themselves as autistic when they may really have another issue. I said my autism tests were free, because in my area of New York, for a period of time they were offering free mental health screening and counseling. In the first testing with the psychiatrist he diagnosed me with anxiety and thought he saw elements of autism. The second test with the psychologist, he diagnosed me with Asperger's/autism, anxiety, and a math learning disability. With that info, that helped me pursue jobs that where math wasn't needed and wouldn't give me anxiety plus accommodated my autism (basically set routines, set schedules). There are ways to get tested for autism that can be affordable. If you have insurance, even Medicaid, you can contact a mental health professional. Some mental health professionals do testings pro-bono. You might have to research and check to see who is affordable in your income range. I know a friend who got it done for $1,000. But I never heard of mental health professionals charging $10K for autism testing.
Amanda said that she was diagnosed as gifted as a child, which means she's neurodivergent (even if she isn't also autistic). Some gifted people struggle with having an identity that is not connected to external achievement and validation, and when they don't receive it or aren't taught that everyone isn't going to think they're wonderful (because perspective is a natural part of life), the lack can create a victim-"nobody likes me because I'm better than they are"-complex. Amanda seems to struggle with this, and I hope she realizes that she doesn't have to prove herself to be who she is, and just being would probably make it easier to enjoy all of her talents.

Dont think she’s bi-racial. Her Mom is from Grenada and from what she has said her Father is American Black. Sure there’s some admixture given history but I’ve never heard her identity as bi racial. I actually had "the pleasure" of meeting Amanda once in person and having a conversation with her (lol). Things started off okay and then in a matter of minutes we got into an unpleasant argument (lol). She's a very direct person and so am I. She seemed to very quickly take offense towards me casually explaining a relationship situation which she seemed too psychologically rigid or egotistical to relate to open-mindedly. it wasn't long before she became dismissive and accused me of "talking down to her" lol which I think I did in some manner due to her inability to connect with what i was explaining. I don't think she can get along with anyone for too long. I believe she's a nice person underneath it all, but I suspect her rigid views on race and gender and her ego lead to her inability to relate well to others.
Thanks so much for sharing. Your experience echoes that of other comments I have read from people who say they knew her from college or the industry. Crazy that she would take offense to people "talking down" to her when she does it to everyone else. She is someone who is probably best avoided. Thanks for watching.

I’m kinda like you! I have worked with people that are exactly like Amanda that everyone hates and I end up becoming their friends because I feel bad. But i actually regret doing that because at the end it bit right in the 🍑. Never again ever. It’s happened more than 3 times and now I just ignore people like Amanda. My heart really goes out to Amanda. Of every negative thing said about her, I’ve never heard a single soul say that they don’t believe she cares about her people. She advocates for Black life more than any celebrity or even elected official we have. But because she doesn’t say it “right” for some, many of us feel the need to destroy her, to pick everything apart. They were posting her takes in agreement with what she was saying. The comment sections agreeed as well. But when she began criticizing Harris, she became persona non grata-with the helps of the blogs. It was coordinated by the Harris team to keep dissenting Black voices quiet. She received threats and then retreated. At the end of the day, the scrutiny she receives is because of her boldness in declaring truths. I could affirm your criticisms of her by sharing what she does wrong-but then, I consider that enough of us are doing that. What a state of affairs for Black folks…We kill off the ones speaking FOR us and praise the ones who look the part and play the game while selling off our people.

You know how they use to do those after-episode wine downs with members of the cast? I remember the one she was on, and they were talking about the story line with Tiffany going through postpartum depression. Issa and Prentice Penny were talking about the story itself and what that's really like for women--and Amanda just kept praising herself and her amazing acting. You can just see Issa struggling not to roll her eyes.

We know she's acknowledging them because she is trying to show that she doesn't care about them and they don't have any power over her emotions, but they do because she randomly brought it up.

The truth is the truth is the truth. I hear so many criticize Amanda but nobody will ever say that she was 1) wrong, 2) inappropriate and 3) unprofessional. This recent US election results just goes to show just how comfortable American people are with lies and con-men, that someone with unwavering integrity I guess would be annoying, especially when that said person refuses to use her race, gender, and pretty privilege to be humble. Even if I agreed with one or two points, her delivery made me not want to watch or engage with her content. I hate to use this word but I find her to be unlikable. Everything she posts is about race. With Amanda, I feel that she does not extend the same courtesy that she wishes to have for herself. Yes, she has her opinions yet when someone respectfully disagrees, she blocks them for simply articulating their perspective. For example, I recall someone mentioning that he did not have the bandwidth for Palestine as his energy was for local issues with black folks. Whether we agree or not, that was his stance as much as her stance was on Palestine yet she threatened to block him and anyone who agreed with him. She’s on a public platform to have a monologue vs a dialogue it would seem. It is not reciprocal and that is where a lot of issues appear to arise.

Things started off okay and then in a matter of minutes we got into an unpleasant argument (lol). She's a very direct person and so am I. She seemed to very quickly take offense towards me casually explaining a relationship situation which she seemed too psychologically rigid or egotistical to relate to open-mindedly. it wasn't long before she became dismissive and accused me of "talking down to her" lol which I think I did in some manner due to her inability to connect with what i was explaining. I don't think she can get along with anyone for too long. I believe she's a nice person underneath it all, but I suspect her rigid views on race and gender and her ego lead to her inability to relate well to others.
Thanks so much for sharing. Your experience echoes that of other comments I have read from people who say they knew her from college or the industry. Crazy that she would take offense to people "talking down" to her when she does it to everyone else. She is someone who is probably best avoided. Thanks for watching.

I’m kinda like you! I have worked with people that are exactly like Amanda that everyone hates and I end up becoming their friends because I feel bad. My heart really goes out to Amanda. Of every negative thing said about her, I’ve never heard a single soul say that they don’t believe she cares about her people. She advocates for Black life more than any celebrity or even elected official we have. But because she doesn’t say it “right” for some, many of us feel the need to destroy her, to pick everything apart. It wasn’t lost on me that juuuuuust before Kamala’s run for office, Amanda was having a very positive run with media and with the blogs. They were posting her takes in agreement with what she was saying. The comment sections agreeed as well. But when she began criticizing Harris, she became persona non grata-with the helps of the blogs. It was coordinated by the Harris team to keep dissenting Black voices quiet. She received threats and then retreated.
At the end of the day, the scrutiny she receives is because of her boldness in declaring truths.
I could affirm your criticisms of her by sharing what she does wrong-but then, I consider that enough of us are doing that. What a state of affairs for Black folks…We kill off the ones speaking FOR us and praise the ones who look the part and play the game while selling off our people.

You know how they use to do those after-episode wine downs with members of the cast? I remember the one she was on, and they were talking about the story line with Tiffany going through postpartum depression. Issa and Prentice Penny were talking about the story itself and what that's really like for women--and Amanda just kept praising herself and her amazing acting. You can just see Issa struggling not to roll her eyes.
"The haters gon love this!" - Kind of an odd time to be worried about haters. The best thing you could do in a situation like this is just not acknowledge them. We know she's acknowledging them because she is trying to show that she doesn't care about them and they don't have any power over her emotions, but they do because she randomly brought it up.
Her career seems long bc she's always hired & fired. No contract gets to the end & if it does it's never renewed. She's not meant for tv bc she's every1's enemy but never wrong & committed to be a right, unrepenting victim. She says she never gets fired every time it's clear they can't wait to get rid of her.

I hear so many criticize Amanda but nobody will ever say that she was 1) wrong, 2) inappropriate and 3) unprofessional. This recent US election results just goes to show just how comfortable American people are with lies and con-men, that someone with unwavering integrity I guess would be annoying, especially when that said person refuses to use her race, gender, and pretty privilege to be humble. Amanda Seales is a highly educated woman in the issues that she talks about- which is what separates her from entertainers that we're used to- who will take a check and be fake the whole time.
I watched one of her videos on IG and they kept appearing in my feed after a few more I blocked her page because of her personality. Even if I agreed with one or two points, her delivery made me not want to watch or engage with her content. I hate to use this word but I find her to be unlikable. Everything she posts is about race. It became too much for me. I don't trust anyone who thinks they are never wrong and ALWAYS blames others.

With Amanda, I feel that she does not extend the same courtesy that she wishes to have for herself. Yes, she has her opinions yet when someone respectfully disagrees, she blocks them for simply articulating their perspective. For example, I recall someone mentioning that he did not have the bandwidth for Palestine as his energy was for local issues with black folks. Whether we agree or not, that was his stance as much as her stance was on Palestine yet she threatened to block him and anyone who agreed with him. She’s on a public platform to have a monologue vs a dialogue it would seem. It is not reciprocal and that is where a lot of issues appear to arise.
I don't care for Amanda's content yet felt empathy for her when she lost her job because she lacks introspection.
