I am the same age as Jay Z, Diddy, and also grew up in Brooklyn. I find it’s laughable to talk about how you’re all about taking care of kids, the community code from where you come, yet Jay Z admits he was a drug dealer in his early years.
That statement he put out feels like he protests too much. He’s saying way more than he needs to say, and the one thing he didn’t say was I was not involved with Diddy.
He said something even more profound. He said if you think I did this heinous crime, then make the case a criminal one instead of a money grabbing civil case. I'm no jay z supporter.. at all. But that's what I always say. When kanye told the world the truth about who really runs the music industry, he went from being a billionaire to just a regular millionaire from his endorsements evaporating. This is way worse than that.

The original filing stated an additional man and woman in the room, now saying JZ is the man in question. The lawyer gave the impression after the first filing against Diddy that the others would not be specifically named until they had verified more. I don't think it takes anything away from her story if she gave the names to the lawyer and he decided it was best to delay revealing that information. She's going to follow the advise of her attorney.
This is definitely only the tip of the iceberg. This is all so disheartening! Whether he did it or not, whether he beats the case or not, this is a huge stain on his name.

He may not be a rapist, but I’ve seen the lyrics to his music, and I find his comments about “having to sit his child down to explain that people do bad things” to be laughable. I was never a fan of Diddy, but I thought that Jay-Z was better than that. My question is, where are the parents of these young girls at these parties. I wasn't even able to wear eyeliner and colored lip gloss until i was 16. My grandma and mother were on me like white on rice. They weren't having it.
He didn’t name Jay Z because, like the other defendants, he’s giving them an opportunity to settle confidentially. The mediation is to facilitate that. Some of the celebrities have already settled. He said he would reach out to every person in his press conference. Jay Z declined and then sued his firm. So now his actual name is added instead of Celebrity A.
I appreciated your level-headedness. Two things can be true - children are horribly abused every day, AND that does not inherently mean the accusations against Jay-Z are true. May the bright light of justice shine down. (And yes, that includes people who knowingly falsely make accusations, in any case out there, not specifically speaking to this one...but thinking of the book Hate Crime Hoaxes, a devastating look at people up to no good in their liar liar spraying to make chaos.)

Her parents should also be held accountable. Why would you allow your underage teenage daughter to attend an MTV Awards after-party? That’s completely irresponsible parenting. Don’t get me wrong-P. Diddy and Jay-Z should absolutely face justice for the crimes they’ve committed. But we also need to ask the hard questions: Why was an underage minor at this type of party in the first place? Where were her parents?
The parents should face the same charges as Sean Combs and Jay-Z for allowing this to happen. And let’s not entertain excuses like, "Oh, she snuck out." Many parents know exactly what their children are doing and still turn a blind eye.
They should be accountable. But if she was like I was when I ran away at 14, they couldn’t have stopped her. It was only after I came back 6 weeks later that I realized the damage that had been done to me. And it took years after that to heal. If her home life was as chaotic as mine was, going to a “cool” grown up party made her feel special. And at that age, we’re so easily gr00med and manipulated…

I disagree. Jr high is often when kids start experimenting and the opposite sex becomes attractive to them. They are young and get themselves in some bad situations sometimes because they do not think things through fully like adults do. It's not necessarily the fault of the parents. Teens will be teens.

My parents had zero control over me at 13. I was a street kid. She was lucky if she caught a glimpse of me. Shes a super strict holy roller. She goes to church 4 days a week. She does everything right as s parent. Some of us had the ability to create our own freedom in the 90s. No smart phones or gps or social media. Complete disconnect. Our parents had no idea what wildness we got up to. No one was stopping us either.plenty of adults. This"dont parent my kid " crap, is what gave us freedom. It takes a village to raise a child, but we've turned our society into isolated pods of individuals who are ostracized for trying to be a village. The parents are not the problem, the predators are the problem, the pedos buying children are the priblem. Being able to hide behind statute of limitations and call people money chasing liars is the problem, blaming the parents is useless, most of them likely had no control, or no idea. Please blame the people actually committing crimes. They keep getting away with it because we havent been pointing at them. Too many kids are in evil situations. They are being stolen from everyone. Not surprised! Gr00ming happens all over, but especially in music and the entertainment industry. I have some stories about my time in Hollywood, CA as a 14 year old runaway. Fortunately, I physically got out unscathed. But it took a lot of work to fix the psychological damage.
Sometimes, victims will tell their lawyer or law enforcement all the details upfront, but the lawyer can only verify the account with 1 perpetrator. Then, later on, during the investigation, they are able to verify the other perpetrators or witnesses in the victims original account, so they will add them to the suit or indictment as they go.

I can answer that…. I was running away from home at 14, she likely had a crap life at home, too. No one batted an eyelash at me catching a greyhound bus to California from SC at 14 in January 1990. At that age, she probably felt grown enough to go to these cool adult parties. It’s only after it’s said and done and the shock wears off that you realize the damage that’s been done. And yes, her parents suck. It’s their fault, as well.

My first instinct is to believe that he did it, simply because of his very close ties to Diddy. However, I truly hope that if he is actually innocent, that that comes to light. At the same time, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that people / victims do not start throwing around false allegations against people, because that will only make the stories given by actual victims less believable. Ugh, just such a mess.

If this is all true, I feel bad for the girl. No 13 year old should have to deal with what the charges say happened. BUT, the legal system has to play out. I will not personally make accusations of guilt until the facts are heard and the case is over. There is no winner in any of this though. Guilty or innocent, reputations are forever changed.

I'm commenting before listening to your take. I would say that this is not unexpected & I think we all know who the alleged other woman in the room likely is.
I don't know the statue of limitations or how strong the case is but I do think it should be also taken into a criminal case; not just civil if possible because then it doesn't seem just like a coin grab.
