Welcome! I'm Eric, a Certified Personal Trainer, and I'm here to help you get the most out of your Bowflex.
Bowflexes are different than free weights and it may take some time to get accustomed to using them. The easiest way to get started is to just work out with me.
That’s what most of this channel is--follow along workouts. It also serves as a hub of content for Bowflexes: routines, how-to’s, hacks, advice, and other instructional content.

I was very excited when I got my Bowflex Xceed. But I don’t understand what’s going on. Maybe it’s the sitting position or something, but every time I do a chest press, either with a bar or with handles, I get shoulder pain. It’s like the wrong set of muscles is working, and it’s mostly in the shoulders. And it’s not the good kind of pain you feel when you work out your shoulders; it’s the straining kind. I don’t get that feeling at the gym when using their machines. Anyone else experience this?
I'm not sure what that could be. Maybe your arms are positioned out too wide, a past injury, or muscle imbalance? I don't think you're going to get a good answer here in the RUclips comments for a different model of Bowflex (I have separate videos for the XCEED). Maybe try posting in the Facebook group (linked in description). Ultimately, neither are the place for medical advice.
At 5’7” there was way too much slack in the cable for me to use the straight bar. Using the bent bar with the built in eyelets, I was able to make it work.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm 5'11" and still the tension comes a bit too late. One thing that helps is having the middle pulleys at the widest position for more tension early on. I try with the other bar too.

Just bought an extreme off Facebook marketplace for $100 delivered to my house..... just had ankle/foot reconstruction surgery and been non weight bearing for the last 7 months lost a lot of muscle mass can't wait to start working out!
