    I disagree that everything about your experience was underwhelming - a crowded, loud cafe with tables too close together sounds EXTREMELY overwhelming to me, ha! (ADHD sensory stimuli joke....) I'm really curious, did you feel the house made sausage patty was seasoned well? I find with a lot of "house made sausage" that they often under-season, which really prevents the herbs and spices from achieving their full potential. That leaves the patty to fall flat, as you say, when all it needed from the kitchen was more salt.

    From my most recent trip a few weeks ago I did eat at a few restaurants on the monorail loop and honestly the dinner we had at The Grand Floridian Cafe was the best. We had the New York steak dinner and it beat out steakhouse 71 in our opinion. The deserts they served had great presentation and were delicious. The other places we ate at were Captain cooks which I thought was terrible. Ohana breakfast was ok. Steakhouse 71 was ok the burger was not as good as I expected it to be. The DVC pool bar at the Grand Floridian had excellent food too! Our last stop was 1900 Park Fare it was fine but nothing really to remember.

      We absolutely LOVE this walk! In fact, before the construction over at Poly, we were doing the walk from MK to the TTC a couple times a week. It was a lot quicker in the evenings than taking Disney Transportation back to the TTC. Once they had us crossing the streets a few times behind the new tower we stopped though. Especially late at night, it gets a little sketchy.

      @@2foolishmortals you had to walk behind the tower? when i walk to contempo, it's up the walk right to the front, by the bus stop. we've also done the walk from mk to poly, but that's not as much fun with the construction. i think they even closed the one walkway between GF and poly.

    You guys are the absolute best for experimenting with this for your channel. Love the thoroughness and dedication throughout! Regarding many of the ride closures/delayed openings, I feel it’s shameful of Disney to continue to nickel and dime the guests but cut on maintenance. If someone is staying on property and purchasing the LL upcharge, those rides should be up and running for early admission. There should be no delayed openings whatsoever. Keep up the great work! Hope you felt better later on!

    • @2foolishmortals

      Oh ABSOLUTELY! Honestly, there's no excuse for this many attractions to be down all at once as often as they are. . . . which is all the time. Don't get me wrong, I understand that things happen. At some point though, as a business, you need to take action in order to prevent that from happening again. Disney isn't doing what needs to be done in order to make that happen and we see that all over the parks; not just in attractions. Also, THANKS! Yes, I did!

  • @sandpiper8991
    @sandpiper8991 20 часов назад

    I have noticed the last two visits (Feb and May of ‘24) that many eticket rides are not operational anymore during early hours. Is this a normal thing I’m just late to the game on lol? Most egregious was early entry to AK and they didn’t open FoP until after park open because it was closed for a media event (which they didn’t exactly tell us, as we waited for an hour in line eating up the entire early entry time, they just said it was a delayed opening. 😵‍💫 still mad about that.

    Our first Disney stay was at POFQ. I loved the vibe-and beignets-duh...and loved the walk up to POR also. But since then we've been trying many resorts out trying to find our little favorite niche. Hubby loves Epcot and AK the most so we tend to land at AKL or somewhere on the Boardwalk the most. It's handy knowing someone I can cheaply rent points from at these DVC resorts. I feel like the POR royal room magic should be in ALL the DVC resorts though-some have been whitewashed a bit! Can you imagine there being fireworks in some form or fashion above all those headboards, no matter the overall motif?

    Yes! It's not the resort I'd choose if doing the parks for sure-especially with no car! We stayed in the tower once when my daughter had a competition in Orlando just because I wanted to be on property-and it was gorgeous for sure. But it's definitely not "magical". I also saw one RUclipsr find that he did miss the bus because his Cabanas were the last to be picked up and it was full already. So he just walked to the first stop the next day to ensure his spot!

    The thing for me is that it’s so hot when I visit, I sweat most of the trip. I sometimes shower twice a day when I’m at Disney World. I like to come back from the park, shower, change my clothes, then go back out for the evening. I don’t want to spend a single minute of my vacation waiting in a laundromat even if it is free. I did that once at Art of Animation and it was difficult to occupy my kids, or I missed time with my family to do the wash. At the Boardwalk, I can come back from the park, take a shower, and put my clothes wash while I’m back out in the parks. I can move it to the dryer when I go to bed. That’s the value for me. Time is money.

    I was ecstatic when I bought points off of my friend to stay at Bay Lake Tower in a deluxe studio but we got to go downstairs and do the laundry for free. It seemed to be dedicated to DVC members there. Then when I stayed at the new Disneyland hotel with points they gave you a card at check-in to swipe for free laundry as well (And you would need that because that laundry room is shared with cash customers). We usually stay a minimum of five nights so going home with clean laundry is huge- And what about it rescuing your clothes after getting caught in a FL thunderstorm?!?!

    I am not defending Disney here but there totally should have been washer and dryers in those cabins. I almost feel like they planned to have washer and dryers in the rooms where the second sink/extra closet is in the cabins. Especially since they call it a 1 bedroom. My guess is the underground plumbing in the area wasn’t designed for that extra water volume. Probably more a hope of limitations rather than being missed. I will say this reason is why I will never stay there.

    • @2foolishmortals

      I agree, there definitely should have been a washer and dryer added to The Cabins with the DVC transition. I also 100% see where you're coming with the underground plumbing thing. That said, I think that if they weren't capable of making the laundry happen. . . they shouldn't have made these cabins DVC. 🤷‍♀️ That said, I don't think we're likely to stay here again. Certainly not for any reason other than checking in on them down the line for the sake of the channel. 😄

    even though riviera is the deluxe property, you get the leftovers on the skyliner going to epcot speaking of skyliner, you also have to wait + commute to CB to get on the skyliner to get to HS. definitely not deluxe, even though it's priced like it.

    I own at Riviera and simply love everything about the resort. We've already moved up from Tower Studios to Deluxe Studios since buying. We are holding off on moving up to 1 bedroom villas as long as possible as it would mean adding on and that is just not in the cards any time soon.

    I know a lot of people think the Riviera is a fake Rolex, but I think the rooms are the nicest, especially the preferred view rooms. We bought DVC at the Riviera and have recently stayed at several others to compare to the Riv (AKL Kidani, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs), and so far the Riviera tops the list for our preferences.

    • @fbueller
      @fbueller 3 дня назад

      After seeing this room, I’m going to have to check out more videos to see where the “fake Rolex” label keeps coming from! One question. So the Riviera and CBR are on the Skyliner route which orovides direct access to Epcot and HS. What is the easiest transportation option to get to Magic Kingdom without a car?

    • @MikeOnTheHomestead
      @MikeOnTheHomestead 3 дня назад

      @fbueller From the Riviera, the bus is the only free method to the Magic Kingdom unless you want to use the 'Mini'van Lyft service which will drop you off really close to the gate at the Magic Kingdom. I think the "fake rolex" idea comes from the fact that the Riviera is not park facing or in walking distance to any of the parks. Some people do not feel like the immersion is the same, but my family and I think the resort is much nicer :)

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals 9 часов назад

      @fbueller The "fake Rolex" thing comes from a comment I got some time ago that I ended up discussing in a video called "DVC Reality Check". It was about DVC in general, not specifically the Riviera Resort, though the Riviera came up as a "fake Rolex" example because it was the newest resort [at the time] and the first example of such a major shift in DVC. In a nutshell, DVC has always been advertised as "Deluxe Accommodations" and that has meant something rather specific at WDW. Among other things, having a prime location near an attraction [theme park, Disney Springs, golf course, safari] was one of the defining factors of a Deluxe Resort. Riviera doesn't have that. [It also lacks in some other areas, but that's a bigger discussion than can fit in this particular nutshell.] That said, like a fake Rolex, Riviera might be beautiful in many ways and it may get the job done, but is it a "Rolex" and is it worth the "Rolex" price? This was also part of a bigger conversation in regards to the direction of DVC. Essentially, my position was [and continues to be] that the enthusiasm for Riviera [especially post 2020] gives DVC the permission they need to lessen the quality of DVC with future properties. Of course, the next property to open would be The Cabins; a moderate accommodation turned DVC.

      @MikeOnTheHomestead I definitely agree that this 1BR is a lovely room. We'll get into more about the room in the review, but I really liked the layout compared to the "standard" DVC 1BR Villas. @@2foolishmortals Oh and believe me, I hear you and though I don’t agree with all your critiques, you do make many fair points. I do also agree that DVC in the more recent years has cut corners and have done some things with their properties that I do not like and believe that these poor choices have cheapened this great product. I will say, although I do understand why people hate smaller lobbies like the one at the Riviera, however some people don’t consider why that choice was made in the first place. The Riviera is technically the 3rd stand alone DVC property at WDW (Along with OKW and SS). Both those resorts have relatively small lobbies as well. In fact, so does BR and Kidani V. The only DVC properties at WDW with big grand lobbies are the ones that already existed as hotels, in period of time where the Disney difference was still highly valued and incorporated throughout the entire company. At any rate, I believe people don’t think about these things or even consider that smaller lobbies at DVC resorts means less maintenance and upkeep which means lower dues for its members. Just a thought. Thanks for your videos and honest opinions!

We tried all the food options both Topolinos and Bar Riva were excellent.
