      Thanks! Yeah, it's so important. . . particularly when we're talking about unique resort experiences like The Cabins. On top of that, since The Cabins are a 'one size fits all' type of DVC Resort, it's really important to understand how that space is would to work for your family 'cause if it's not a good fit there's no room to grow like at other DVC Resorts. 😄

    This is completely off topic but since your reviews are always top notch in my opinion, would you and Russ ever do some reviews on local restaurants? As many times as I’ve been to Orlando and surrounding areas, I haven’t ate off property much and that’s something we’ve been wanting to do and I’ve heard there are a lot of good places but we don’t even know where to begin.

      THANKS! We absolutely would! We have been thinking about trying some new places as it is, perfect excuse! Stay tuned. 😉

    I wanna buy into dvc really bad because me and my family go 1 to 2 times a year and we love it at WDW……but I don’t think we’re at that point finically to make the move, so for now we’ve been renting points here and there and doing small split stays to get a feel of all the dvc resorts before we finally buy in. Love that you recommended that

    Sorry to hear about your struggles on getting on Tiana’s. I was there for 4th of July week and had almost no issues getting on Tiana’s Bayou adventure a couple of times.
    I did feel and notice DVC cast members pushing the Cabins hard on us and trying to get us to book a consultation on the resort. Mind you we were staying at the Grand Floridian so it surprised me how aggressive they were in that location. They were not rude just overly aggressive of what I’m use to.

      DVC is slowly morphing into Westgate Resorts I fear.

      Could you elaborate on how you felt CMs were pushing the cabins as a hard sell? Were you asking about DVC options or were you being presented with unsolicited information?

      It happens and it's all good! I'm glad that you were able to ride during your trip and hope you enjoyed yourself! 😄
      Hmm. . . I'm sorry to hear that you had that experience. You know, I've not had an encounter with any overly pushy DVC Reps to date BUT that's not to say I'm surprised. I'm sure that the pressure is on with The Cabins because from what I understand sales are not going well.

    In my opinion, buying DVC direct right now doesn't make sense at all (mayyybe Poly2). The purchase price and minimum point requirement for 'direct benefits' on top of the resale restrictions placed on just about every new offering is just a little much.
    Regarding the cabins : while the point charts are great - the dues are some of the highest across any DVC property, there are resale restrictions should you ever want to sell your contract, and the initial point cost to buy in is in the same range as the actual deluxe resorts. Again, this is my opinion - but I just don't think the Cabins are worth buying into DVC for whether you are a new member or adding on.

      Yes! The dues are some of the highest AND the quality [materials & construction] is some of the lowest I've seen meaning that these cabins aren't going to last and members are paying for that through those dues that WILL go up over time. Of course, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. The review hasn't come out yet. 😅

    Not the best of value for a family of six. The bunk beds aren't for adults, so eventually, people will want privacy and not fit in them. And the resale restrictions won't help either.

      I’m not familiar with resale restrictions. Are these policies specific to Fort Wilderness and other new resort properties? Do you happen to know what led Disney to start implementing restrictions? Thank you in advance.

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  20 дней назад

      Resale restrictions have been put in place for newer DVC Properties including Disney's Riviera and The Cabins [thus far at WDW]. They impact people who choose not to purchase these contracts direct from DVC, but rather buy them resale. Those who buy Riviera and The Cabins resale are unable to use their points to stay at resorts outside of their home resort. In other words, if you buy The Cabins direct from DVC you can stay anywhere. If you buy resale, you can ONLY stay at The Cabins.
      We likely got resale restrictions because a lot of people were [and probably still are] buying cheap properties and never staying there with the intention of only staying at more expensive properties. This can make it more difficult for some members who pay the premiums at some resorts to book rooms at those resorts. Resale restrictions work toward eliminating that problem or at least reducing it. . . . it will take time for this to really have a major impact though.

      @jcbnyc2009 I definitely don't think that The Cabins is a property that will grow with an average family, unless that family is already accustomed to the sleeping arrangements of a Camper or similar. Yes. It does sleep 6 adults. Yes. The bunks will be suitable for adults. [We tested them out and have a video about it coming soon.] No. Your 4 teen/adult children aren't going to love the idea of these sleeping arrangements and likely aren't going to be comfortable for one reason or another. I mean, even if 2 of them slept on the bunks, the other 2 would have to share a bed. . . . . that's not something that I would have been down with.

    Are pets allowed at some of the FW cabins? I saw some mention on this online. Large dogs could do more damage over time to a DVC property.

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  18 дней назад +1

      Yes. Pets are allowed at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. This is one of the reasons that they claim the dues for this resort are as high as they are. Guests who choose to bring pets will also need to pay an additional fee per night.
