DVC members since 1997 and yes we have seen what we will call "The Disney Difference" dwindle over the years. Unfortunately it is not just limited to DVC it has also spread to the parks.
It seems like in the past, Disney as a company had an "Imagineer" mentality. They seem to have lost this and replaced it with a "Corporate" mentality where the bottom line is sacrosanct.
We totally realize that any perks offered are not guaranteed and may be ended at any time, but the Pixie Dust is being taken away and not replaced. Disney of all companies, should realize that the parks, cruise line and hotels are all a stage. That stage sets the emotional tone. They need to get back to imagineering everywhere.

You are 100% right about DVC. I’ve been a DVC member since 2005 and I’ve loved going to Disney since I was a kid. What I received as a DVC member from 2005 until 2016 was great. After 2016, things changed at the Disney parks and then slowly with DVC itself. After the pandemic, everything related to Disney went down hill, including DVC. Remodeling at DVC hotels takes so long, only to see very little quality added to their hotels. As a DVC member, we are adding to a investment at Disney, which they clearly no longer appear to care about. These days, Disney appears to put in as much effort into maintaining their existing DVC hotels/areas as they do with maintaining their rides at the parks. I truly want to have faith that there will be some promising changes with DVC and Disney soon, but I’m starting to doubt it.

I really appreciate your viewpoint. The vloggers that are invited to all the media events are being bought by Disney - they need to have a disclaimer on their channels. When we bought DVC their sales pitch were the perks - more time in the parks, HUGE discounts on park admission, Magical Express, free Fast Pass. This is why we are upset when they went away. And the Disney Difference is not there. As evidenced by the rude CM we had at Flying Fish at a $250 meal. Now this is unusual for CMs most of them are really awesome. This stems from the way CMs are treated by their employer today. IKEA furniture is just not lasting furniture - We went through a bunk bed within 5 years. Just sayin. So how long will it last in a hotel resort??? Disney used to have the cleanest bathrooms anywhere. Have you seen the Theme Park bathrooms lately??? We still love going to Disney parks but not sure how much longer when it is cheaper to vacation abroad or anywhere in the US - even having DVC. Don't know how young families can do this without being in debt. We used to go about 3 times a year - now maybe once a year.

Love the #RealTalk! You have the best Disney content channel hands down and your honest opinions are always appreciated! If having real conversations, there will always be things friends and family disagree on. As an example, I'm someone who would N-E-V-E-R use that bulky sleeping bag in the FW cabins but others will make different choices. (Ha!)
I was so interested in your review of the new FW cabins and some of the issues you addressed that I did a search to see what additional opinions were out there. Even now, I'm not seeing any other critical reviews posted. All the other reviews I have come across are essentially PR videos for the new resort property by other influencers.
The concerns you posted were definitely legitimate and included information families will definitely want to know if planning a stay. The electrical issues you brought up are a basic safety concern! I would put money down that you and Russ are the only reviewers who have mentioned the pungent smell of the new cabins.
I have always found your reviews to be fair and balanced. Even when identifying improvement areas, you consistently point out how a given attraction, restaurant or resort property that isn’t for you might be a good match for others.

I am not a DVC member, but I watch all of your videos, along with many others who are DVC members. Honestly, I am surprised a lot of the time at the conditions of many of the DVC rooms. I've seen furniture that looks damaged and extremely outdated. And many of the rooms just look incredibly lower quality than what I had thought a DVC room to look like. My take on it, and I absolutely could be wrong, is that those rooms have already been accounted for through DVC members paying for them that there is no urgency to update them as often as they should. And from I can tell of the Riviera, those rooms look sub-standard in a lot of ways. As for the second topic, I watch a lot of different WDW live streams and vloggers, including obviously your channel. Many of them get invited to those media events by Disney, the most recent being Tiana's and Country Bears. I think CBJ looks nice and well thought out, and many of the vloggers' reviews seemed honest, but my own thoughts on Tiana's didn't seem to match up with the reviews and I wondered whether they were being honest. I mean, it looks like a cute ride, when it's working, but my issue is that the story line is below what I would expect from one of Disney's premiere attractions. I mean, a quest to find band members to play at Tiana's party, in my mind, is about as compelling of a storyline as Goofy's Barnstormer. And yet, most of the vloggers' reviews didn't mention this lack of story, and if they did mention it, it was discounted as irrelevant an issue because of the amazing animatronics and beautiful sets. I do appreciate your honest take on everything. It prepares me and helps set my expectations when I visit (which my next stay starts exactly 4 weeks from today). Thank you for what you do! Much appreciated!

I'm so confused about the IKEA furniture complaint LOL. I have IKEA furniture, I even really truly LIKE IKEA furniture, I'm sitting on an IKEA couch that has now lasted 10 years very, very well. We all know they have multiple "levels" of furniture quality at different price points for everyone's needs.
But when you're comparing something to IKEA, it's literally a reference EVERYONE understands to get a good idea of the quality of something. It's not a knock on IKEA, or even necessarily DVC, it's just a solid example of the type of construction you'll see in the cabins (which ultimately I suppose is a knock on DVC, and rightly so, but it's an explanation, not derogation). If you really wanted to hit them where it hurts you could say it's My Bob's Discount Furniture quality, but I'm guessing that reference might be a little more niche 🤣

Several things went differently for me than what some people who bought years ago describe. I watched many DVC channels before purchasing. I realize others may not feel that way. That's fine. It was not my intent to put words in your mouth or tell you what is wise, but as a person who has owned rental property not everyone will handle your property in a reasonable manner, so companies may make the decision to put furniture or cabinets in the rooms that can be easily replaced at a minimal investment. The average person also makes that decision. I only mention because that's where my mind was. So many more thoughts, but social media is an interesting forum where commenters tone cannot easily be heard so I'll go back to casually viewing. It's not my intention to upset anyone.

    DVC is an AWEFUL investment
20k for 1 week a year puts the value of the real estate at
    1 million ( 20k x 52)
    -
The most expensive 1 bedroom in celebration is 400k
    Now that 1 bed room
    You have access 365
    You have a kitchen
    1000 more sq ft
Full control on sale of property
    No say on property
HOA fees at DVC are also crazy high
That 1 million dollar valuation is crazy

    • @Dadatdisneyworld
      @Dadatdisneyworld 3 месяца назад +3

Where on earth are you getting these numbers? And a week what are you talking about?
You get points in DVC. You use your points for the rooms. All resorts have different points for the different room types.
Myself and my family have stayed multiple times a year at different resorts. Yes you give a down payment and then you’re paying monthly. I was able to pay my DVC in full and we pay a fee once a year. Which you could add monthly.
It’s like owning a house that’s not really yours however you get first pick on rooms at your “home” resort.
DVC is not for everyone. Everyone has different ways they like to travel. You don’t need DVC. We like it because it’s so easy to book our trips and we can book them 11 months out. Many people can’t and that’s okay.
Idk where you got these outrageous numbers from because I didn’t pay $1 million dollars for my DVC lol
But if DVC is t for you, that’s perfectly okay, but I think you might wanna learn more about it before throwing out random numbers to climb aboard the DVC hate train 🚂

      Also celebration?
You’re staying at a Disney resort anywhere DVC is available. Not celebration.

I think you’re confusing DVC with something else, because no one pays $400,000 for DVC

I love your channel and what you do your honesty and realness is why I decided to get a small resale contract. It's still cheaper than rack rates for all stars and I only need to go every 3 years if I want. Disney is going to have to do something attendance is down and if they want to keep getting people into the parks they have to do better.

This is the kind of content i want to say. Everything you said is SPOT. ON. There is not excuse for the stickers in the cabin, amongst other cheap design choices Disney has been making. Things are getting completely out of hand. People need to speak up!

💺 one of best rants ever, 🍿it was like a quick ride 🎢if you can not say what you want, there is no point in having a channel, there is enough of what I see as the Disney Party Line Mantra channels on RUclips, which can be quite dull 🥱😴 . The point about DVC is very important because it's as if people are now conditioned to be grateful for paying more even if they are getting less etc, which makes no sense, especially if you have been a long term member, these memberships are not cheap💰💵 This applies to anything not just DVC membership but other things that your paying for and the cost goes up and your perks go down 😠 that has happened to me a lot, not discussing this would be a diservice, and yeah I do love my emojis🤪😁

"it's as if people are now conditioned to be grateful for paying more even if they are getting less etc, which makes no sense"
      THIS. RIGHT. HERE! 👏👏👏
It's as if people are now conditioned to be grateful no matter what, 'cause they ARE conditioned into being grateful no matter what. . . otherwise they're going to be bullied into submission. I see it myself right here on the channel and I'm sure I'm not alone. Thing is, I've been doing this for a while and have a firm grasp on who I am. . . not everyone making content has reached that point in their life yet [which is fine. . . it's a journey that takes a different amount of time for each of us]. I don't care what people want to hear or if they think I'm ungrateful. Let 'em! I know that I'm being real and sharing information that people need to know. 🤷
      Also, I love the emojis!
