We loved the grand Floridian cafe in the past. The apple heirloom salad is delicious but the worst decision they made was getting rid of the lobster thermidor burger. That burger was 10/10

A lobster thermidor burger? That sounds like it would be GREAT if not at very least interesting. Too bad it's gone.

We liked Grand Floridian cafe last time we at a late lunch there (2021). But we’ve heard the quality has been slipping and the dining parking situation has just left us feeling like there were better options to explore.

The parking situation at the Grand Floridian is definitely quite the to do!

From my most recent trip a few weeks ago I did eat at a few restaurants on the monorail loop and honestly the dinner we had at The Grand Floridian Cafe was the best. We had the New York steak dinner and it beat out steakhouse 71 in our opinion. The deserts they served had great presentation and were delicious. The other places we ate at were Captain cooks which I thought was terrible. Ohana breakfast was ok. Steakhouse 71 was ok the burger was not as good as I expected it to be. The DVC pool bar at the Grand Floridian had excellent food too! Our last stop was 1900 Park Fare it was fine but nothing really to remember.

Hmm. . . interesting. I wonder if choosing breakfast was where we went wrong. Might have to add dinner to the list in the future.

I disagree that everything about your experience was underwhelming - a crowded, loud cafe with tables too close together sounds EXTREMELY overwhelming to me, ha! (ADHD sensory stimuli joke....)
I'm really curious, did you feel the house made sausage patty was seasoned well? I find with a lot of "house made sausage" that they often under-season, which really prevents the herbs and spices from achieving their full potential. That leaves the patty to fall flat, as you say, when all it needed from the kitchen was more salt.

      🤣
Russ and I were just talking about this over coffee this morning. We definitely didn't feel as though it was seasoned well, but not in a way where it just needed salt. It wasn't as though we could barely taste herbs and spices, it was as though they didn't add any. Like, not even pepper or anything. It was odd.

Grand Floridian Cafe to me is just "meh". It's always available. It's just kind of okay food.

The Grand Floridian is just not for me. It’s just way too fancy for me lol. I always thought it’s the most overrated resort on property. Might be a hot take but that’s just how I feel!

I've got a LOT to say about this, but in a nutshell. . . I agree.

Definitely the most overrated on property. Yes, it's close to the parks. You know what else is? The Wilderness Lodge and it is amazing. Plus better food, imo.
